Liskeard

Caradon was a local government district in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It contained five towns: Callington, Liskeard, Looe, Saltash and Torpoint, and over 80 villages and hamlets within 41 civil parishes. Its District Council was based in Liskeard 50.453°N 4.465°W / 50.453; -4.465. The district was formed on 1 April 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972, by the merger of the boroughs of Liskeard and Saltash with the urban districts of Looe and Torpoint, along with Liskeard Rural District and St Germans Rural District. The district was named after Caradon Hill, the principal landmark of the area, and formerly the site of important copper mines. The district was abolished as part of the 2009 structural changes to local government in England on 1 April.

The station is approximately 18 miles (29 km) west of Plymouth on the Cornish Main Line and 264 miles 71 chains (426.3 km) from London Paddington via Box and Plymouth Millbay. It is the junction for the Looe Valley Line. The railway station is situated approximately 0.5 miles (0.80 km) south-west of Liskeard town centre.

Lamellion is a hamlet in Cornwall, England. It is half a mile southwest of Liskeard (where the population for the 2011 census was included.) and nearer to the town is Lamellion Hospital. The hospital building was the work of John Foulston, 1839, and was built as a workhouse.

Addington is a residential area of northeast Liskeard, in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is located at grid reference SX 259 651. According to the Post Office the population of the area at the 2011 census was included in the civil parish of North Hill. Addington is on the A390 road from Liskeard to Callington and has its own post office and a fish and chip shop, separate from the main town. Addington was originally a separate settlement but has merged into Liskeard as it grew in population.

Coombe Junction Halt railway station serves the villages of Coombe and Lamellion near Liskeard, Cornwall, England, UK. It is situated on the Looe Valley Line and operated by Great Western Railway. All trains on this line have to reverse at Coombe Junction, but very few continue the short distance into the platform to allow passengers to alight or join the train.

Coombe (Cornish: Komm) is a settlement in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated one mile (1.6 km) southwest of Liskeard. Coombe Junction Halt is a station and railway junction on the Looe Valley Line railway which runs from Liskeard station to Looe station.

Moorswater railway station (Cornish: Dowr an Hal) was the centre of operations for the Liskeard and Caradon Railway and the Liskeard and Looe Railway. The two railways made an end on junction here. It was the site of the lines' engine shed, also a china clay works which is now used as a cement terminal.
