Bishopbriggs (Scots: The Briggs; Scottish Gaelic: Achadh an Easbaig) is a town in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It lies on the northern fringe of Greater Glasgow, approximately 4 miles (6 km) from the city centre. Historically in Lanarkshire, the area was once part of the historic parish of Cadder - originally lands granted by King William the Lion to the Bishop of Glasgow, Jocelin, in 1180. It was later part of the county of Lanarkshire, and then an independent burgh from 1964 to 1975. Today, Bishopbriggs' close geographic proximity to Glasgow now effectively makes it a suburb and commuter town of the city. The town's original Gaelic name Coille Dobhair reflects the name of the old parish of Cadder, but modern Gaelic usage uses Drochaid an Easbaig, a literal translation of Bishopbriggs. It was ranked the 2nd most desirable postcode in Scotland to live in following a study by the Centre for Economic and Business Research in 2015 and 2016.Bishopbriggs grew from a small rural village on the old road from Glasgow to Kirkintilloch and Stirling during the 19th century, eventually growing to incorporate the adjacent villages of Auchinairn, Cadder, Jellyhill and Mavis Valley. It has a population of approximately 23,500 people.

Huntershill House is a classic example of an 18th-century Laird's house, built c.1769-1781, designed by an unknown architect. The lands of Huntershill were formerly part of the lands of Auchinairn owned by James Lyle; "his circumstances having become embarrassed his Lands of Auchinairn were sold by his Creditors by Public Roup in several lots" on the 15th day of October 1748. From the 1780s it was the family home of the political reformer Thomas Muir, Younger of Huntershill (1765–1799). Auchinairn is now closely entwined with Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. Huntershill house is currently owned by East Dunbartonshire Council, and is a category B listed building, unfortunately during their ownership the building has fallen into disrepair and has ended up being listed on the Buildings at Risk Register for Scotland.

HMP Low Moss is located on the outskirts of Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire; near Glasgow, Scotland. It has been operated by the Scottish Prison Service as a prison since 1968 and was for low-category prisoners who had sentences of less than 36 months to serve. The original establishment was closed in May 2007, with the entire site being cleared and redeveloped with a considerably enlarged footprint. The new prison was reopened in March 2012, and accepted its first intake in almost five years. Scott Watson is the Establishment's acting Governor.

Stobhill Hospital is an Ambulatory Care and Diagnostic Hospital, located in Springburn in the north of Glasgow, Scotland. It serves the population of North Glasgow and part of East Dunbartonshire. It is managed by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Stobhill is a district in the Scottish city of Glasgow. It is situated north of the River Clyde. Part of Springburn, it gives its name to Stobhill Hospital.

Colston is a mostly residential area in the Scottish city of Glasgow; situated on the northern edge of the city, it is surrounded by the Glasgow areas of Milton to the west and Springburn to the east, and the town of Bishopbriggs to the north. The main road through Colston is the A803 (Springburn Road), which then becomes Kirkintilloch Road once past Colston to the north through Bishopbriggs. Colston Secondary School, which was established in the 1900s, closed in the late 1980s and housing built on the site, but some of the buildings were retained and were converted into laboratories used by Scottish Water. Most children in the Colston area now attend the re-built Springburn Academy. The nearest shopping centres are Springburn Shopping Centre and Bishopbriggs town centre; however, there are several take-away shops and a supermarket within the Colston area. Stobhill Hospital is the nearest hospital, a short distance to the east. Administratively, most of the neighbourhood (south of Colston Road) is under Glasgow City Council, with the streets west of Springburn Road falling within the Canal ward and those to its east within Springburn/Robroyston ward; everything north of Colston Road is in East Dunbartonshire and regarded as part of Bishopbriggs.

Auchinairn (Scottish Gaelic: Achadh an Fheàrna) is a suburb (formerly a village) within East Dunbartonshire, Scotland, and shares its southern boundary with the Robroyston and Balornock districts within the City of Glasgow.

Huntershill Village is located opposite Huntershill House at the top of Crowhill Road in Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. Over forty local businesses operate from the location. It was historically part of the Huntershill Estate, former residence of the political reformer Thomas Muir. It is also the former site of the Huntershill mining and freestone quarry. A Cairn and Martyrs Gate dedicated to Muir and fellow martyrs from England and Scotland were erected at Huntershill Village by John SL Watson, and partly funded by the East Dunbartonshire Council. Visitor facilities includes the Thomas Muir Coffee Shop, art gallery & classes, picture framer, pet and aquatic and garden/gift centre. On 3 September 2009 at 10am, East Dunbartonshire's Provost Eric Gotts formally opened the Bishopbriggs Farmers Market which is held on the first Saturday of every month.

Springburn Park is a park situated in the north of the city of Glasgow, Scotland. The 31-hectare (77-acre) park lies about 2+4⁄5 miles (5 km) north of the city centre, and takes its name from the surrounding Springburn district of the city.

The Springburn Winter Gardens is a former large winter garden located at Springburn Park in the Springburn district of the Scottish city of Glasgow, constructed in 1900. The building was damaged in a storm and fell out of use in 1983 but was saved from planned demolition on 22 March 1985, when the Scottish Office included the structure on the Statutory List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest, at category A.

Turnbull High School is a co-educational comprehensive secondary school located in Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. The school was named after William Turnbull, Bishop of Glasgow from 1448 to 1454, and founder of the University of Glasgow in 1451, of which he was the first Chancellor. Whilst enrollment is open to pupils of all religious denominations and none, the School's religious ethos emphasises practice of Roman Catholic moral values both in the church and in the community, with its own Chaplain and many associated charitable and community-based activities undertaken. Turnbull High School has been consistently ranked amongst the top 40 (10th percentile) of Scotland's 376 state secondary schools in recent years, with attainment levels for both Standard Grade and Scottish Qualifications Certificate examinations routinely above the national average. The school also has a reputation for sporting excellence, particularly in Association football, with several alumni playing at a professional level. The school's staff are appointed with the approval of the Archdiocese of Glasgow, in accordance with the Education (Scotland) Act 1918, which first established state support for Catholic schools. Turnbull is affiliated with the three Catholic Primary Schools in its Catchment area, St. Matthew's and St. Helen's in Bishopbriggs and pupils from Torrance who attend St. Machan's in Lennoxtown. Pupils from St. Nicolas', Bearsden and St. Joseph’s, Milngavie, also have an entitlement to places in Turnbull High School.

Cadder (Scottish Gaelic: Coille Dobhair) is a district of the town of Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It is located 7 km north of Glasgow city centre, 0.5 km south of the River Kelvin, and approximately 1.5 km north-east of Bishopbriggs town centre, sited on the route of the Forth and Clyde Canal. There is a Glasgow council housing scheme of a similar name, generally pronounced Cawder, in the district of Lambhill some 3 miles (5 km) to the south-west along the Canal, which was built in the early 1950s. Similarly, within Cadder, there is Cawder Golf Club, which also uses that original pronunciation.
