The Heidelberg‒Wiesloch Electric Railway (Elektrische Bahn Heidelberg – Wiesloch) is a metre gauge railway and tram line running along the Bergstraße route form Heidelberg southwards towards Wiesloch, Germany. As of 2020 the northern section of the route carries as Line 23 of the Heidelberg Tramway system, terminating at Leimen Cemetery. The southern section, which carried tram Line 8 between Leimen and Wiesloch Schillerpark closed in 1973. The closed section ran directly through the villages of Rohrbach, Leimen, and Nußloch providing a parallel service to the Baden main line of the Grand Duchy of Baden State Railway.

Kirchheim (literally German for "Churchville") is a southern district town of the city of Heidelberg in north-west Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

Leimen is a town in north-west Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is about 7 km (4.3 mi) south of Heidelberg and the third largest town of the Rhein-Neckar district after Weinheim and Sinsheim. It is also the area's industrial centre. Leimen is located on the Bergstraße (Mountain Road) and on the Bertha Benz Memorial Route. In the context of a communal reform in the 1970s, Leimen was newly created from the villages Leimen, Gauangelloch and Sankt Ilgen. In 1981, the state government of Baden-Württemberg granted Leimen the privilege to be called "town." When Leimen's population exceeded 20,000 in 1990, the city council applied for elevation to a Große Kreisstadt which was granted by the state government on 1 April 1992.

Wiesloch (German: [ˈviːslɔx], locally [ˈvɪslɔx]), is a town in northern Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated 13 kilometres south of Heidelberg. After Weinheim, Sinsheim and Leimen it is the fourth largest town in the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis. It shares Wiesloch-Walldorf station with its neighbouring town Walldorf. Also in the vicinity of Wiesloch are Dielheim, Malsch (bei Wiesloch), Mühlhausen, Rauenberg and Sankt Leon-Rot. Wiesloch's population grew to more than 20,000 when the administration of the area was reorganised in the 1970s. Wiesloch became a Große Kreisstadt on 1 January 1973, when Altwiesloch, Baiertal, Frauenweiler and Schatthausen were amalgamated with Wiesloch to form the present municipality.

St. Ilgen/Sandhausen station (German: Haltepunkt St. Ilgen/Sandhausen) is a railway station in the municipality of Leimen, located in the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

Waldangelbach is a river of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It flows into the Leimbach in Wiesloch. During 2017, a €2.4-million project took place to redevelop 210 metres of the Waldangelbach through the Mühlhausen city centre.In mid-2019, the bed of Waldangelbach between the former Wellpappe factory in Wiesloch, and where the stream flows into Leimbach started to be redeveloped. As part of the construction work, the railway bridge carrying the former local railway between Wiesloch-Walldorf station and Wiesloch city centre was due to be dismantled and relocated to the Wiesloch Feldbahn and Industrial Museum. The bridge arrived at the museum on 8 October 2019.

The area around Wiesloch, Germany, is a historical centre for mining, running between Roman times and the earlier 2000s. The area is situated on the eastern edge of the Upper Rhine Plain and contains large concentrations of carbonate-hosted lead-zinc ore deposits. Lime (Kalk) for cement is still actively mined in the vicinity, with most of the clay pits closed, and the last heavy metal mine operated until 1953 by Stolberger Zink. On top of the escarpment metals and lime have been mined, with clay and sand mined at the end of the valley floor where faulting has brought different layers closer to the surface. During the 11th century, around ~100 tonnes of silver is estimated to have been mined, contributing financially to the area and liking funding the creation of Speyer Cathedral.Along the length of the River Leimbach are spoil tips from historic mining.The Nussloch quarry extracting lime for cement and belonging to HeidelbergCement was anticipated to reach permitted limits for extraction during the late-2020s.

The Wiesloch Feldbahn and Industrial Museum (German: Feldbahn- und Industriemuseum Wiesloch, FIW) is a narrow-gauge railway and industrial heritage open-air museum established in 2001, at Wiesloch, Germany. The museum is centred around the former locomotive shed of the Tonwaren-Industrie Wiesloch (TIW) brickworks, and houses industrial equipment from large excavators to small machine tools, plus large and small locomotives.It is 650 metres (0.4 mi) north of Wiesloch-Walldorf station, lying between the River Leimbach and mainline Mannheim–Karlsruhe–Basel railway to the west, and the Bundesstraße 3 and REWE supermarket Group's south-west central warehouses to the east.

The Battle of Wiesloch (German: Schlacht bei Wiesloch) occurred on 16 August 1632 during the Thirty Years' War near the German city of Wiesloch, south of Heidelberg. A Swedish army led by Count Gustav Horn fought an army of the Holy Roman Empire led by Count Ernesto Montecuccoli.The battle resulted in a Swedish victory.

Tonwaren-Industrie Wiesloch (TIW AG, originally Thonwaaren-Industrie Wiesloch GmbH, abbreviated Ton) was a brickworks making which existed in Wiesloch, Germany between 1895 and 1989. It was one of the largest and most significant factories in Germany. The factory was located just north of Wiesloch-Walldorf station and was the largest employer in Wiesloch.Raw clay material was excavated from a clay pit in the Dämmelwald forest on the north-west side of Wiesloch. This clay material was located at an elevation of 120 metres above sea level within the Upper Rhine Graben.The factory contained one of many industrial 600 mm gauge railways in Germany. Use of the narrow-gauge trains to fetch material from the clay pit finished in 1979. Since 2001 the Wiesloch Feldbahn and Industrial Museum has been based at part of the north end of the site, and since 2016 the Leimbach Park has been built on the south end of the site, with the rest of the area transformed into an industrial zone.

The Leimbach Park (German: Leimbachpark or Park am Leimbach) is a linear park and 100-year flood prevention scheme opened in October 2016 in Wiesloch, Germany. It is part of a larger ecological enhancement of the River Leimbach. The park follows the River Leimbach downstream from Wiesloch to a larger 1.4-hectare (3.5-acre) area just north of Wiesloch-Walldorf station, part of the former Tonwaren-Industrie Wiesloch brickworks.As of 2019 a narrow-gauge railway track connection runs northwards from the Leimbach Park, via the Landratsamt district government office to the Wiesloch Feldbahn and Industrial Museum.

Sandhausen (German pronunciation: [zantˈhaʊ̯zn̩]) is a municipality in the district of Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated 7 km south of Heidelberg.
