The Greater Ville is a neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. The area is bounded by Marcus Avenue on the northwest, Natural Bridge Avenue on the northeast, Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and St. Louis Avenue on the south via North Taylor Avenue and Sarah Street, and North Vandeventer Avenue on the southeast. The Greater Ville surrounds The Ville neighborhood.

The Tandy Community Center is a historic building dating from 1938, at 4206 West Kennerly Avenue in The Ville neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.. It is also known as the Tandy Recreation Center and PWA Project No. 8483. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1999.

Simmons Colored School is a historic building and a former African American school in The Ville neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.. It served as a historically segregated African American elementary school and middle school from 1898 until 1930. The building served as the Stowe Teachers College campus, an African American normal school and junior college from 1930 until 1940. The building has played an important role in The Ville community since its inception. The school was also known as Elleardsville School for Colored Children No. 8, Colored School #8, Simmons Middle School, and Simmons School.The Simmons Colored School has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1999, for the architecture and contributions to Black history.

St. Louis Colored Orphans Home is a historic orphanage for Black orphans and building in The Ville neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.. It has been known as the Annie Malone Children and Family Service Center since 1946. It serves as a shelter for children who need a temporary home and a counseling center for families in crisis. The St. Louis Colored Orphans Home has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1999, for the architecture and contributions to Black history.

Homer G. Phillips Hospital was the only public hospital for African Americans in St. Louis, Missouri from 1937 until 1955, when the city began to desegregate. It continued to operate after the desegregation of city hospitals, and continued to serve the Black community of St. Louis until its closure in 1979. It was named for St. Louis lawyer and civil rights advocate Homer G. Phillips who helped plan it. Located at 2601 N. Whittier Street in The Ville neighborhood, it was the first teaching hospital west of the Mississippi River to serve the city's Black residents. By 1961, Homer G. Phillips Hospital had trained the "largest number of Black doctors and nurses in the world." It closed as a full-service hospital in 1979. While vacant, it was listed as a St. Louis Landmark in 1980 and on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. After being adapted for residential use, it reopened as senior living apartments in 2003.

Sumner High School is a St. Louis public high school that was the first high school for African-American students west of the Mississippi River in the United States. Together with Vashon High School, Sumner was one of only two public high schools in St. Louis City for African-American students and was segregated. Established in 1875 only after extensive lobbying by some of St. Louis' African-American residents, Sumner moved to its current location in 1908. It has historically also been known as Charles H. Sumner High School, and Sumner Stone High School. As of the 2018–19 school year, the school had an enrollment of 267 students and 26.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.2:1. There were 264 students (98.9% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 0 (0.0% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

The Antioch Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri is a church long important in the black community of the Ville neighborhood of North St. Louis. It is located in a Gothic Revival-style brick building at 4213 N. Market St. which was built in 1921. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.The church was established in 1878 by 12 members of the black community at a home on what was then named Wash Street in what was then Elleardsville, a suburb recently incorporated into the city. The congregation grew, and eventually acquired a site on Kennerly, built a frame church, and was incorporated in 1884. According to the 1999 National Register nomination:The black population of the Ville grew dramatically from World War I onwards as the application of race-restrictive covenants prevented blacks from living in many other areas of north St. Louis. After purchasing the predominantly white Goode Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church in 1909 for $6,000 (located on the present site of Antioch's Educational Building), the church continued to expand. When fund raising for a new sanctuary began in 1915, the congregation had nearly 500 members. By the October 1920 cornerstone laying ceremony, the congregation had swelled to over 700 members. The church was designed by W. B. Robinson and was built by T.J. Ward Construction Co., with final cost including the purchase price of the property and a $3,000 organ being $74,000. It is a red brick nearly square plan church "distinguished by buttresses at the corners and defining the doors and bays. Visual interest is added by slightly projecting bays at the center of both east and south elevations; their steep-pitched stepped gables, corbeled in a less pronounced imitation of the corner tower, pierce the roofline. Below, each has a large, tripartite, traceried Gothic-arched window above a tripartite flat-arched window. The square, crenelated comer tower is topped with a corbeled blind arcade with white stone diamond-shaped insets above. The primary entrance to the sanctuary is located in the east side of this tower, reached via a flight of steps."Connected to the west is a flat-roofed education building designed to be compatible. This was built in 1954-1955. The history given in the 1999 nomination, continues:In 1948 the landmark Supreme Court decision in Shelley v. Kramer declared race-restrictive covenants illegal, and middle-class blacks began to move into areas of north St. Louis outside of the Ville. In the 1960s a number of those same middle-class families would follow the general exodus out of the city as large numbers of poor blacks displaced by urban renewal in the central east-west corridor moved into northside neighbortioods. As property values fell and overall population in the Ville declined, Antioch decided nonetheless less to remain in its historic location. The decision to stay has not hurt Antioch, however; current membership exceeds 2000 and the church is financially healthy. Antioch's three-story crenelated corner tower has become a symbol of stability in an area with a relatively high demolition rate. Most church members live outside the Ville; some according to a church deacon, live as far away as Illinois and St. Charles County, Missouri. Many are long-time members who maintained ties to the church after leaving the Ville. The church was in good condition in 1999. It was deemed culturally significant for National Register listing for its association with the black community during segregation and beyond.The listing was compatible with a 1998 study of historic resources in the Ville, and the study's extension in 2010.

Robison Field is the best-known of several names given to a former Major League Baseball park in St. Louis, Missouri. It was the home of the St. Louis Cardinals of the National League from April 27, 1893 until June 6, 1920.

Beaumont High School was a public high school in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. It has been converted to a technical school, hosting a number of CTE programs today. It is part of the St. Louis Public Schools.It was closed as a high school after the final graduating class on May 14, 2014, but continues its career training mission. After Beaumont was founded in 1926, it became noted for producing several Major League Baseball players in the 1940s and 1950s. During the Civil Rights Movement, the high school's integration was featured in a documentary film that was nominated for an Academy Award. After the closure of Little Rock Central High School after its integration crisis, three members of the Little Rock Nine completed coursework at Beaumont. After the 1970s, however, the school re-segregated as an all-black school, and from the 1970s through the 1990s, the school suffered deteriorating physical conditions, security, and academics. After a renovation in the early 1990s, the school's physical condition improved, but gang violence at the school led to several incidents, including a classroom invasion by a group of armed youth in 1994. The school continued to struggle with a high dropout rate and low standardized test scores. As of 2010, the school offered its nearly 800 students a variety of athletics and activities, including football, basketball, cross country and track, Future Business Leaders of America, Health Occupation Students of America, and job shadowing programs. It also had several notable alumni, including more than a dozen Major League Baseball or NFL players, and a variety of political and education leaders. For the 2011–2012 school year, Beaumont was converted into a 10th through 12th grade technical high school and no longer accepted 9th grade students.

O'Fallon is a neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. The neighborhood is located on the north side of the City of St. Louis, nestled between O'Fallon Park and Fairground Park. It is bounded by West Florissant, Harris Avenue, Algernon Street and Adelaide on the north, Pope Avenue on the northwest, Kossuth and Natural Bridge Avenues on the south via Fair Avenue, Warne on the east, and Newstead on the west. The O'Fallon neighborhood is located in the 21st Ward which is currently represented by Alderman John Collins-Muhammad.

The Ville is a historic African-American neighborhood with many African-American businesses located in North St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.. This neighborhood is a forty-two-square-block bounded by St. Louis Avenue on the north, Martin Luther King Drive on the south, Sarah on the east and Taylor on the west. From 1911 to 1950, The Ville was the center of African American culture within the city of St. Louis.

Fairground Park is a municipal park that opened in 1908 in St. Louis, Missouri. It was originally a privately owned facility, first used by the St. Louis Agricultural and Mechanical Association for the St. Louis Exposition from 1856 through 1902. However, the Civil War interrupted the annual fair when the Fairgrounds were used as a Union encampment known as Benton Barracks. The annual exposition ceased in 1902 as preparations for the 1904 World's Fair began.
