Neumünster station is the main railway station of the town of Neumünster in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is at the junction of lines to Flensburg, Heide, Hamburg-Altona, Kiel, Bad Oldesloe, Kaltenkirchen and until 1985 Ascheberg. It is currently operated by Deutsche Bahn, which classifies it as a category 2 station.

Neumünster (German pronunciation: [nɔʏˈmʏnstɐ] (listen)) is a city in the middle of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. With more than 79,000 registered inhabitants, it is the fourth-largest municipality in Schleswig-Holstein (behind Kiel, Lübeck and Flensburg). The Holstenhallen and the Stadthalle make the city an important trade fair location.

Lehrgeschwader 2 (LG 2) (Demonstration Wing 2) was a Luftwaffe unit during World War II, operating three fighter, night fighter, reconnaissance and ground support Gruppen (groups). Lehrgeschwader were in general mixed-formation units tasked with the operational evaluation of new types of aircraft and/or with the development/evaluation of new operational tactics or practices. Each Gruppe within the unit was equipped with a different type of aircraft. Each Gruppe consisted of several Staffeln (squadrons). The Gruppe was identified by Roman numbers (I./LG 2) and the Staffel by Arabic numbers (10./LG 2). In 1939 Lehrgeschwader 2 thus consisted of a Bf 109 fighter Gruppe (designated I.(J)/LG 2), a Henschel Hs 123 ground assault Gruppe (II.(Schl.)/LG 2), and a reconnaissance Gruppe (III.(Aufkl.)/LG 2).

The Schwale is an approximately 16 kilometer long river in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The origin is in the district Segeberg close to Gönnebek, the confluence with the Stör is in the independent town Neumünster. In the centre of Neumünster the river is dammed to an artificial lake from the medieval times to operate a water mill.

Dosenbek is an 8-kilometre-long (5.0 mi) river of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The origin is in the Gehege Negenharrie (Gehege may be translated as forest enclosure) in the district Rendsburg-Eckernförde. Most of the water originates from the Dosenmoor. The mouth is close to the Brachenfelder Gehölz in the district Brachenfeld of Neumünster. Here the Dosenbek empties into the Schwale.

Tasdorf is a municipality in the district of Plön, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Tasdorf was first mentioned in documents dating to the year 1141 AD. The current population is about 360 people; the size of the municipal area amounts to roughly 5 km². Tasdorf is located in the northeastern city limits of Neumünster. The closed railroad line from Neumünster to Ascheberg ran to the south of the village. The brook Dosenbek flows from the nature reserve Dosenmoor to Neumünster through the village municipal area.

Krogaspe is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Krogaspe is located north west of Neumünster close to Autobahn A7 and county highway 205 to Rendsburg.

Einfelder See is a lake in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. At an elevation of 26.79 m, its surface area is 1.78 km². It is located in the northern suburb of Neumünster and in the Kreis Rendsburg-Eckernförde. The lake is located on a water divide of the rivers Stör and Eider. Most of the water originates from groundwater and precipitation, only a small portion reaches the lake from the adjacent Dosenmoor. On the west side of the lake, the nature reserve Westufer Einfelder See is located. The east side offers beach regions, sunbathing areas and lake access for sailing and rowing boats.

Loop is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

The Dosenmoor is a regenerative and, in places, preserved raised bog in the north German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It lies near the town of Neumünster east of the village of Einfeld and covers an area of 521 hectares. The almost circular bog lies on the watershed between the River Eider, which flows northwards, and the Stör, which flows towards the south.

Wasbek is a municipality, immediately west of Neumünster, in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
