Elphinstone Tower, Falkirk

The Dunmore Pineapple is a folly in Dunmore Park, near Airth in Stirlingshire, Scotland. In 1995 it was ranked "as the most bizarre building in Scotland".

Dunmore is a small village in the Falkirk council area of Scotland. It lies 6.5 miles (10.5 km) south east of Stirling and 5.5 miles (8.9 km) north of Falkirk. The village lies along the A905 road between Throsk and Airth on the banks of the River Forth. The population of Dunmore was recorded as 70 in the United Kingdom Census 2001, and as 79 in the census of 1991.Formerly known as Elphinstone Pans, the settlement was entirely remodelled as a planned village in the 1840s by the local landowner, the Countess of Dunmore. Dunmore is a conservation area.

Airth (Scottish Gaelic: An Àird) is a Royal Burgh, village, former trading port and civil parish in Falkirk, Scotland. It is 6 miles (10 kilometres) north of Falkirk town and sits on the banks of the River Forth. Airth lies on the A905 road between Grangemouth and Stirling and is overlooked by Airth Castle; the village retains two market crosses and a small number of historic houses. At the time of the 2001 census the village had a population of 1,273 residents but this has been revised to 1,660 according to a 2008 estimate.In July of each year it hosts a traditional Scottish Highland Games.

Central region (Roinn Meadhanach in Gaelic) was a local government region from 1975 to 1996, being one of twelve such regions across Scotland. The Regional Council's headquarters were at Viewforth in Stirling, which had been previously the headquarters of Stirlingshire County Council. Since 1996 the area has been divided into the council areas of Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling, which had previously been districts within Central region.

Airth Castle is a castle overlooking the village of Airth and the River Forth, in the Falkirk area of Scotland. Until 2023, the castle operated as a hotel and spa.

Airth Old Parish Church is a ruined church which stands within the grounds of Airth Castle at Airth, in the Falkirk council area in Scotland. The building is now roofless. It dates from various periods, with substantial parts from the Romanesque period, and quire steeple and north aisle added by John Milne the royal master mason in 1647. Access to the kirk is restricted for safety reasons. The graveyard includes a number of cast iron ‘mortsafes’, large coffin shaped containers used to thwart the plans of the body snatchers in the early 19th century.The church is designated as a scheduled monument by Historic Environment Scotland.

Alloa Academy is a six-year state-funded school, serving the town of Alloa in Clackmannanshire, Scotland. The pupil intake comes from four "feeder" primary schools, Redwell, Sunnyside, St. Mungo's and Park, and varies from a middle class area to an area of severe deprivation, see nuclear power plant. The school moved to its current location after Christmas 2008. The old building in the Claremont area of Alloa was built in 1859, opened by Queen Victoria and demolished in 2010. The new school is adjacent to the OI Glassworks (formerly United Glass). The school is in view of the River Forth.

Letham (Scottish Gaelic: Leathann) is a small former mining village in Falkirk district, Scotland. It is located less than 2 miles from the town of Airth.

Alloa Tower in Alloa, Clackmannanshire, in central Scotland, is an early 14th-century tower house that served as the medieval residence of the Erskine family, later Earls of Mar. Retaining its original timber roof and battlements, the tower is one of the earliest and largest Scottish tower houses, with immensely thick walls. It was designated as a scheduled monument in 1960 and is now owned by the National Trust for Scotland.

South Alloa railway station, located south of the River Forth, served the village of South Alloa, Scotland and the town of Alloa via a ferry link from 1850 to 1885.

South Alloa is a small village which lies in the far north of the Falkirk council area of Scotland. The village is on the south bank of the River Forth where the river empties and widens to form the Firth of Forth. To the west of the village lies the island of Alloa Inch, and directly to the north across the Forth is the town of Alloa, located 0.8 miles (1.3 km) away. Upstream and 5 miles (8.0 km) west-northwest is the city of Stirling and 7.3 miles (11.7 km) south is Falkirk, the principal town of the Falkirk council area. It lies just inside the council boundary line between Falkirk and Stirling councils. The village lies off the A905 road between Dunmore and Throsk. The village is at a former ferry crossing point across the River Forth to Alloa. Between 1850 and 1885 South Alloa railway station was the terminus of a line originally built by Scottish Central Railway.The village had 112 residents in 2011, a 49% increase since the 2001 census.

Alloa Ferry station was the terminus on the Stirling and Dunfermline Railway (S&DR) Alloa Harbour branch line that ran from Alloa. It opened on 3 June 1851, running down the east side of Glasshouse Loan to 150 yards (140 m) short of the ferry pier. The end of the branch was described in a local newspaper as where "an extensive goods shed has been erected and a comically diminutive station house has been put up".Alloa Ferry station closed on 1 July 1852 when the line from Alloa to Stirling was opened. The line closed on 28 February 1968 when the goods service to the harbour was withdrawn.
