Baku Zoo

The Baku Children's Railway (Azerbaijani: Azərbaycan Dövlət Uşaq Dəmir Yolu) was a narrow gauge children's railway in the Azerbaijan capital Baku. It runs through Shakhriyar Park (formerly Dzerzhinkiy Park) on a 1.05 kilometres (1,050 m) long line with a gauge of 750 millimetres (30 in) between two terminus stations. The railway was opened on 10 August 1947 as one of the many pioneer railways in the Soviet Union. It was taken out of service and dismantled in June 2009.

The Dede Gorgud Park (Azerbaijani: Dədə Qorqud Parkı) is a park in Baku, Azerbaijan. The park is located in the Narimanov district. It was opened on 13 December 2013. The park was opened on the site of the former children's railway (1947-2009).The park is the second largest park in Baku, second only to the Baku Seaside Park. The total area of the park is 6 hectares, in the center there is a large artificial lake, the area of which is 2 hectares. An underground reserve pool with a capacity of 1200 cubic meters was additionally built for the lake with a total water volume of about 25 thousand cubic meters. The presence of the lake allows locals to learn how to canoe and kayak. In the park itself there is a monument in the form of a book dedicated to Dastan Kitabi Dede Gorgud. This monument was created by the sculptor Göyüs Babayev.

Azerbaijan University (AU) (Azerbaijani: Azərbaycan Universiteti) is a private university located in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The Monument to Koroghlu (Azerbaijani: Koroğlu heykəli) commemorates the central character of the Epic of Koroghlu. It is located in Baku, Azerbaijan at the intersection of Azadlig and Vagif avenues, in a park bearing the hero's name. The monument was raised on the site of the monument to Prokofy Dzhaparidze, which was dismantled in 2009. The author of the monument is Tokay Mammadov, the Peoples Artist of Azerbaijan. The order to raise a monument to Koroghlu in Baku was issued in 2009. The monuments unveiling took place on 21 February 2012. The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

Monument to Tofiq Bahramov (Azerbaijani: Tofiq Bəhramovun heykəli) is a monument to the Azerbaijani Soviet referee and judge of international category Tofiq Bahramov. It is located in the front of the training centre building next to the Baku Republican Stadium named after Bahramov. The sculptor Mamednijat Salakhov is the author of the monument. This is the worlds first monument to a football referee.

The Attack on Abu Bakr Mosque of Baku took place on August 17, 2008, when a grenade was thrown through a window of the Abu Bakr (Abu-Bekir) mosque in central Baku, Azerbaijan, during the evening prayer. Three people were killed and eleven more were injured. The Azerbaijani security forces accused the Russia-based Islamist Jihadist group, the Derbent Jamaat for the attack and launched the Operation Eagle.

The Monument to Taras Shevchenko (Azerbaijani: Taras Şevçenkonun heykəli) is a monument to the Ukrainian poet and writer Taras Shevchenko raised in the capital of Azerbaijan, the city of Baku. The author of the monument is the Ukrainian sculptor Igor Grechanik.

Azerbaijan Tourism and Management University (abbr. ATMU) trained cadres in tourism in Azerbaijan, established under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic Azerbaijan. The professional goals of the university include improvement of the tourism industry, training personnel to meet the needs for qualified personnel in the field of travel and leisure and hospitality. In 2014, the institute became the university of tourism and management (Azerbaijan Tourism and Management University). Azerbaijan Tourism and Management University cooperates with many local and international organizations. Within the framework of cooperation, several research and development projects, teacher / student exchanges have been implemented.

Baku Slavic University (BSU) (Azerbaijani: Bakı Slavyan Universiteti) is a public university located in Baku, Azerbaijan. At the university, specializing in the study of Slavic and German languages, diplomats, philologists-teachers, translators of Russian, Polish, Czech, English, German, Bulgarian, Greek, Ukrainian, Belarusian, French, Serbian, Croatian, Slovak, Turkish, as well as specialists in international relations, diplomacy, linguistics, culture, geography, history, law, economics of these countries are trained. Baku Slavic University cooperates with universities and institutions of Eastern and Central European states and has concluded student exchange agreements with universities of Russian Federation, Poland, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Bulgaria, France, Slovakia, Serbia, Belarus, Croatia, Slovenia, United Kingdom, Turkey, Romania, Moldova, North Macedonia, all Central Asia countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan), the Baltic states (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia). The Baku Slavic University is a member of the International Personnel Academy, the Association of European Universities (Magna Charta Universitatum), the Association of Universities of the Black Sea Basin, the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (MAPRYAL).

Baku railway station (Azerbaijani: Bakı Dəmir Yolu Vağzalı) is the central station of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. It is located in the Nesimi district in central Baku, approximately 3 km northeast from the historical core of Baku, İçərişəhər. It is connected to the adjacent 28 May metro station by a pedestrian tunnel. It is also the terminal of the circular Baku suburban railway.

Azerbaijan University of Languages (Azerbaijani: Azərbaycan Dillər Universiteti) is a public university in Baku, Azerbaijan. The student body consists of approximately 4,000 undergraduates and 900 graduate (master's degree) students. The university has a combined faculty of more than 700 teachers.

Monument to Nikola Tesla (Azerbaijani: Nikola Teslanın heykəli) is a monument to the Serbian scientist Nikola Tesla, located in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, in a park at the crossing of the Azadlig Avenue and the Suleiman Rahimov Street. The monuments authors are the Peoples Artist of Azerbaijan, the sculptor Omar Eldarov and the architect Sanan Salamzade. The monument is cast from bronze. Its height together with the pedestal is 3.3 meters.The monument is set against the background of a decorative panel depicting one of Teslas main inventions - an alternator. The opening ceremony of the monument took place on 8 February 2013. The ceremony was attended by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the First Lady of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, the President of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic, and the First Lady of Serbia, Dragica Nikolic. At the opening ceremony, the presidents delivered speeches.
