AK Steel Holdings Corporation was a steelmaking company headquartered in West Chester Township, Ohio. The company, whose name was derived from the initials of Armco, its predecessor company, and Kawasaki Steel Corporation, was acquired by Cleveland-Cliffs in 2020. AK Steel operated eight steel plants and two tube manufacturing plants in Ashland, Kentucky, Butler, Pennsylvania, Coshocton, Ohio, Dearborn, Michigan, Mansfield, Ohio, Middletown, Ohio, Rockport, Indiana, and Zanesville, Ohio. The company had manufacturing operations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and facilities in Western Europe. AK Steel produced flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, primarily for the automotive, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, including electrical power, and distributors and converters markets. The company also provided carbon and stainless steel tubing products, die design and tooling, and hot- and cold-stamped components. Of AK Steel's 2018 sales, 63% went to the automotive industry, 15% to infrastructure and manufacturing industry and 22% to distributors and converters.The company was criticized for its record regarding pollution and worker safety. In 2019, AK Steel was named GM Supplier of the Year for Non Fabricated Steel by General Motors for the second consecutive year. AK Steel was also presented with a Smart Pillar Award from Ford, as a top-performing global supplier at the 21st annual Ford World Excellence Awards.

Beckett Ridge is a census-designated place (CDP) in West Chester Township, Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,192 at the 2020 census.

Miami–Erie Canal Site Historic District is a registered historic district on the Miami and Erie Canal near West Chester, Ohio. The district consists of Lock #38 on the canal, the house used by the lock's gatekeeper, and several foundation sites from demolished canal-related buildings. The limestone lock was built in 1825-26 as part of the original construction of the canal, which connected the Ohio River to Lake Erie. The gatekeeper's house, the second built at the lock, was constructed in 1870; the first house's foundation is still present as well. A mill race connects the lock to the former Friend and Fox Paper Company, which opened a paper mill on the canal in 1866. The paper mill was destroyed by a fire in 1932, though its foundations and retaining walls are still part of the site.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 18, 1978.

Olde West Chester is a census-designated place (CDP) in West Chester Township, Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 240 at the 2010 census.

Fairfield Township is one of thirteen townships in Butler County, Ohio, United States. It is located in the south central portion of the county. The population was 22,645 at the 2020 census. Before annexations by the cities of Hamilton and Fairfield, it had an area of about 50 square miles (130 km2).

Tylersville (also known as Pug Muncy) is an unincorporated community in central West Chester Township, Butler County, Ohio, United States. It was laid out in 1842 by Daniel Pocock and named for the President of the United States at the time, John Tyler. Its name lives on in a major road of northern West Chester Township, which is at Exit 22 on I-75.

Port Union is an unincorporated community in western West Chester Township, Butler County, Ohio, United States, on State Route 747 about three miles north of Springdale and three miles southeast of Hamilton. The town was laid out in 1827 by William Elliott alongside the turning basin for the Miami and Erie Canal and was about midway between Crescentville and Hamilton on the canal. It was originally known as McMaken's Bridge, but took the name its township. (West Chester Township was Union Township until 2000). The Cincinnati, Hamilton, and Dayton Railroad later laid tracks through Port Union. The town possessed its own school district until the 1920s when it merged with the other districts in the township.

The Sharonville Engineer Depot (sometimes Sharonville Engineering Depot) was a facility constructed by the United States Army near Sharonville in Hamilton County, Ohio, United States, for the purpose of storage of strategic metals. The site was originally 642 acres in size. The site was constructed in 1942. The site was transferred to the General Services Administration (GSA) in 1949. After that time, the GSA sold or transferred portions of the property to various governmental and private entities. GSA retained approximately 80 acres which (in 1998) were leased to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).The Depot is listed as a Formerly Used Defense Site by the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).The Depot was investigated by contractors working for the USACE in the mid-1990s. The investigation was triggered by reports of possible contamination in groundwater by organic compounds at the nearby Brighton Corporation. Four monitoring wells were installed and the groundwater was sampled, but no organic compounds were detected.

Lakota High School was a high school in the Lakota School District in Butler County, Ohio; it encompasses both West Chester (formerly Union) Township and Liberty Township. The Thunderbird was the Lakota mascot, drawing on the Native American name, T-Birds being a common nickname. Much of the district was rural when originally established, especially the more northern Liberty Township, but became predominately suburban with population growth and the expansion of metropolitan Cincinnati, Ohio. The school was built in 1959. It eventually split into two high schools in 1997: Lakota East High School and Lakota West High School. The Lakota High School site, on Tylersville Road in West Chester, Ohio, is now used as both a Freshman School and Early Childhood Center for the Lakota School District.

Maud is an unincorporated community in central West Chester Township, Butler County, Ohio, United States, located on Cincinnati–Dayton Road (also known as the Dixie Highway). Originally called Shoemaker, it was renamed for Richard Maud, the town's first postmaster and was formerly a stop on the Dayton Short Line, which became part of the Big Four Railroad. An important road in West Chester and Liberty Townships is Maud Hughes Road. Around the late 1860s or early 1870s, Maud was the site of an attempt by a local entrepreneur to construct a mill that worked via perpetual motion. A large crowd gathered to watch the mill start, and when it did not, laughter ensued. Nothing was heard from the unnamed entrepreneur again, and the mill quickly vanished. The local newspapers did not record the event, and the only record of its occurrence was transmitted by elderly residents of Maud to one William Marion Miller of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

The Art Institute of Cincinnati, also known as AIC College of Design, was a private for-profit art school in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools & Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). It was founded as the ACA or the Academy of Creative Arts, and it offered an associate degree of Graphic Design and a three-year bachelor's degree of Graphic Design. The institution closed in 2019.
