Rosewood Washington, D.C. is a luxury boutique hotel located at 1050 31st Street NW in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C., in the United States. Originally an office building known as the Canal Building, it was constructed in 1963, and was the first major new building constructed in Georgetown in 50 years. The structure was purchased by two local real estate development companies in 2008 and converted to a hotel. The renovation won multiple awards. The hotel, branded as and managed by Capella Hotels and Resorts, opened in 2013 as the Cappella Hotel. The developers sold the property to Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, which rebranded the hotel as the Rosewood Washington, D.C in 2016. The hotel has 55 accommodations in total, including 6 townhouses, 12 suites and 37 standard guest rooms. The hotel has about 42,000 square feet (3,900 m2) of interior space.The hotel offers dining concepts by Wolfgang Puck, including CUT D.C. and CUT Bar and Lounge, which serve as exciting evolutions of his acclaimed culinary concept and draw on the region's finest farms and fisheries to showcase the variety of the Mid-Atlantic. CUT Above is a seasonal rooftop bar and lounge set against the city's iconic skyline, and a rooftop pool offers both indoor and outdoor swimming.

Suter's Tavern, also known officially as The Fountain Inn, was a tavern located in Georgetown, which later became part of Washington, D.C., and it served as Georgetown's best-known hostelry until the emergence of several newer taverns in the 1790s.John Suter established the tavern in 1783 in Georgetown on Fishing Lane, near today's intersection of 31st and K Streets, NW. Though the precise location of the tavern is not entirely clear, it is known to have been located about two blocks southwest of the Old Stone House, where Suter's son, John Jr., resided. The building that housed the tavern has been described as a small building, one and half stories, with a large inn yard in back to accommodate coaches and wagons. Suter's Tavern was the location of meetings between George Washington, Andrew Ellicott, and Major Pierre L’Enfant to plan what would one day become the nation’s capital Suter continued to operate this tavern until his death in 1794, after which his wife continued running it until early 1796. By February of that year, Clement Sewall had taken over operations of the Fountain Inn, but by December 1796, he had left to operate the newly built City Tavern (now the City Tavern Club). Eventually, Suter's Fountain Inn became an oyster-house and ultimately disappeared without record.George Washington and other notable residents frequented the tavern, which was the site of land deals involved in establishing Washington as the "Federal City".

The Old Stone House is the oldest unchanged building structure in Washington, D.C. The house is also Washington's last pre-revolutionary colonial building on its original foundation. Built in 1765, Old Stone House is located at 3051 M Street, Northwest in the Georgetown neighborhood. Sentimental local folklore preserved the Old Stone House from being demolished, unlike many colonial homes in the area that were replaced by redevelopment. The Old Stone House was constructed in three phases during the 18th century and is an example of vernacular architecture. The house was built as a one-story structure. Additions were later made, and it was used both as a residence and for business. In the mid-20th century, at one time, it was the site of a used-car dealership. After acquisition and renovation by the National Park Service (NPS) in the 1950s, the Old Stone House was adapted as a house museum. The Old Stone House stands among the neighborhood's stores and restaurants. The building is considered part of the Rock Creek Parkway urban natural area and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. The Old Stone House is also a contributing property to the Georgetown Historic District, a National Historic Landmark. Today, the home is 85% original to its 18th-century construction.

It is an AAA 5-star luxury hotel, and has 86 rooms, 27 premier suites, and five luxury suites. All rooms and suites have a view of the Potomac River and historic Georgetown. It contains a 140 feet (43 m) smokestack coming from the lobby fireplace. It is a small hotel and is known to be good for privacy. The hotel contains a restaurant, bar, and a fitness center with a newly refreshed spa after a $1.5 million renovation in 2016. The rooms are on average 450 square feet (42 m2) in size and is located in a historic industrial building.

Venezuelan embassies and consulates in the US are now being administered by representatives of Juan Guaidó, recognized by the US as the acting president of Venezuela during the Venezuelan presidential crisis.

The Customhouse and Post Office in Georgetown, Washington, D.C., was completed in 1858 in a Renaissance Revival–Italian Palace style. Construction cost was $55,468. The first floor was occupied by a branch post office and the second floor by the Customs Service. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. It was already included as a contributing building within the Georgetown Historic District.It was designed during 1856–57 by Ammi B. Young (1798–1874), who was Supervising Architect of the United States Treasury. On June 23, 1967, the customhouse moved from its 31st Street location to a new building at 3180 Bladensburg Road, N.E., Washington, D.C. A small branch post office remains on the first floor. The main block of the building is 61 feet (19 m) by 46 feet (14 m); it has additions to the north and to the east. It has a low seamed-metal roof.

Grace Episcopal Church, built in 1867, is an historic Episcopal church located at 1041 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Historically known as Grace Protestant Episcopal Church, it was added under that name to the National Register of Historic Places on May 6, 1971. It is also known as Mission Church for Canal Boatmen. Grace Church is an active parish in the Episcopal Diocese of Washington. The Rev. John Graham is the current rector.

Education and outreach programs include the Blues Alley Youth Orchestra and Blues Alley Jazz Summer Camp.

Washington Harbour is a Class-A mixed-use development located at 3000 and 3050 K Street, N.W., in Washington, D.C., in the United States. The southern edge of the development borders the Potomac River on the Georgetown waterfront. Designed by Arthur Cotton Moore, the complex consists of two curved towers and three other buildings attached to them, all of which are in the Postmodern architectural style. The complex contains luxury condominia, offices, retail space, restaurants, and underground parking. Construction of the complex was preceded by a seven-year zoning and legal battle over the future of the Georgetown waterfront. This dispute led to the designation and development of a new national park, the Georgetown Waterfront Park. A two-year controversy over the design of the complex, which included accusations of malfeasance by a D.C. agency, followed. Construction began in November 1981, and was complete in June 1986. Critical reception of Washington Harbour was mixed, but the public quickly embraced it. Washington Harbour suffered significant management problems in its first two years, which led to the removal of one of its developers as property manager. The complex was sold to local real estate magnate Conrad Cafritz in 1988 in a controversial purchase-like lease agreement. Cafritz subsequently sold the property, which has had six different owners between 1990 and 2013. It was put up for sale again in 2013. Washington Harbour has a first-of-its kind set of floodgates designed to help protect it against Potomac River floods. However, failure to use the floodgates properly caused a major flood in 2011, which led to a lawsuit and a $30 million renovation.
