The Great Mall of the Bay Area (often simply called The Great Mall) is a large indoor outlet shopping mall in Milpitas, California built by Ford Motor Land Development and Petrie Dierman Kughn in 1994. It was acquired by Mills Corporation in 2003, and by the Simon Property Group in April 2007. The mall contains approximately 1.4 million square feet of gross leaseable area. The anchor stores are Century Theatres, Kohl's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Home Interiors Furniture, Q, Saks Off 5th, Marshalls, Burlington, and Dave & Buster's and the Legoland Discovery Center.

Great Mall station (formerly known as Great Mall/Main Transit Center) is operated by Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). This station is served by the Orange Line of the VTA Light Rail system. The station is elevated over the intersection of Great Mall Parkway and Main Street in Milpitas, California. A pedestrian bridge connects the Light Rail station to the Great Mall of the Bay Area. The station was opened on June 24, 2004, as part of the second phase of VTA's Tasman East light rail extension.This station formerly served as a major transfer point between VTA Light Rail and bus lines. The transit center was closed and the majority of the bus lines moved to the nearby Milpitas station which opened on December 28, 2019.

Milpitas station, also known as Milpitas Transit Center, is an intermodal transit station located near the intersection of East Capitol Avenue and Montague Expressway in Milpitas, California. The station is served by the Berryessa/North San José–Richmond and Berryessa/North San José–Daly City Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) lines, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) light rail Orange Line, VTA buses, and AC Transit buses. The elevated Montague light rail station opened in June 2004. It was renamed Milpitas in December 2019 when the bus plaza and connecting footbridge were opened. The below-grade BART station, constructed as part of the Silicon Valley BART extension, opened in June 2020 along with a parking garage.

Silicon Valley University (SVU) was a private, non-profit higher educational institution located in San Jose, California. The university was accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) at the bachelor's degree and master's degree levels until December 7, 2017. On April 5, 2018, the state ordered SVU to close and refund students' money within 45 days.

El Torito (Spanish for "the little bull") is a Mexican restaurant chain, consisting of 69 restaurants which are located primarily in California. Some of the restaurants are located in Oregon, Arizona, and overseas. El Torito is one of several Mexican cuisine restaurant chains operated by Xperience Restaurant Group. Founded in 1954, El Torito claims to be "a pioneer in the California full service Mexican casual dining restaurant segment."

Milpitas (Spanish for "little milpas") is a city in Santa Clara County, California, in Silicon Valley. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 80,273. The city's origins lie in Rancho Milpitas, granted to Californio ranchero José María Alviso in 1835. Milpitas incorporated in 1954 and has since become home to numerous high tech companies, as part of Silicon Valley.

Milpitas Grammar School, now part of the Milpitas Library, is an educational building in Milpitas, California. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 22, 1993. The Greek Revival building (listed on the NRHP as Classical Revival) was designed by Frank Delos Wolfe to replace an earlier two story Victorian-style wooden schoolhouse that burned down in 1912. The structure was built by the architect's brother, Theodore Linfield Wolfe, in 1916 for $13,212, and had offices, at least four classrooms, and an auditorium.During the three years of construction, school was held in a building on a nearby ranch. The building was used as a school until 1956, a few years after the city was incorporated in 1954. The current Milpitas High School traces its roots to the school. Afterward the building served various roles including as Milpitas City Hall, Police Department, library and the Milpitas Senior Center. The city conducted a restoration in 1990. In 2006, the structure was integrated into a much larger public library that opened on January 10, 2009. The 60,000 square feet (5,600 m2), two-level library is the largest in the Santa Clara County Library system, and places the Milpitas Grammar School building in the center and bookends it with wings to the north and south. The school's original open courtyard was covered with a tensile fabric roof to filter the sunlight.

Alder (formerly known as I-880/Milpitas) is a light rail station operated by Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). This station is served by the Orange Line of the VTA Light Rail system. The station was opened on May 17, 2001, as part of VTA's Tasman East light rail extension.The station has a 275 space park and ride lot situated diagonally opposite from the platform. The entrance to the parking lot has a large public art installation, a clocktower called "Gateway to the City of Milpitas."

Cropley is a light rail station operated by Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). This station is served by VTA's Orange Line. The station was opened on June 24, 2004, as part of the second phase of VTA's Tasman East light rail extension.

California Science and Technology University (CSTU) was founded in 2011 in Silicon Valley to provide postgraduate education.CSTU offers Master's degree programs in Computer Systems and Engineering (MSCSE), Business Administration (MBA), and the Emerging Technology Training (ETTP) programs. CSTU's curriculum focuses on the latest technologies of Silicon Valley, such as Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, as stated in the CSTU's website. CSTU is seeking to be accredited by Accrediting Commission of Careers Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). To comply with ACCSC's requirements, all CSTU teaching faculty not only have adequate academic training, also have at least four-year industrial experience.CSTU is licensed to operate by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) in April, 2016. The MSCSE, MBA and ETTP programs are offered online and onsite. CSTU is located at Milpitas, California. CSTU's has a very convenient class schedule which can fit the needs of working professionals. Most classes are offered in evenings and weekends. CSTU's ETTP program is also approved by Employment Development Department, California, which can provides the tuition for the professionals who lose their jobs and need training for new jobs.

SanDisk is Western Digital's brand for flash memory products, including memory cards and readers, USB flash drives, and solid-state drives. The company was acquired by Western Digital in 2016. As of March 2019, Western Digital was the fourth-largest manufacturer of flash memory having declined from third-largest in 2014.

Calaveras Hills High School (CHHS) is one of the two high schools of Milpitas, California. Calaveras Hills High School works with students who need an alternative form of education. Calaveras Hills High is referred to as "Cal Hills" by students and the community. Cal Hills is the most successful alternative school in the state. Test scores for the STAR test rose hundreds of points from 500+ to 714. Cal Hills often has a waiting list to get into the program. Cal Hills has a very successful Resource Special Education program that has helped hundreds of under performing students achieve high school graduate. Students have won many local scholarships and awards while graduating from this program. Cal Hills has earned the highest WASC accreditation and is a Dist. School (Model school). Cal Hills has won many league championships against rivals Alta Vista and Robertson. Past principals include Fleming Matson, Don Denton, Mike Madalinski, Paul Cauchi, Michael Hermosillo, Katie Martinez, and Alecia Myers. The Current superintendent is Cary Matsuoka.
