Barlby with Osgodby is a civil parish in the Selby district of North Yorkshire, England, just to the north of Selby. The parish covers Barlby and Osgodby and had a population of 4,533 according to the 2001 census, increasing to 4,974 at the 2011 Census.

Barlby is a linear village in the civil parish of Barlby with Osgodby, in North Yorkshire, England. It is situated 2 miles (3 km) to the north-east of the market town of Selby, and is bordered to the west by the River Ouse and to the east by the A19 Barlby bypass. Across the bypass is Barlby's smaller sister village, Osgodby.

All Saints' Church is the parish church of Barlby, a village in North Yorkshire in England. A chapel was constructed in Barlby by 1481, dependent on St Mary the Virgin, Hemingbrough. By the late 18th century, the chapel was in ruins, and it was demolished. A replacement church was built between 1779 and 1780, a rectangular structure with an apse at the east end, an octagonal bellcote, and a vestry on the north side. A gallery at the west end was added in 1811, followed in the 1840s by two projections on the north side to house additional pews. The vestry was rebuilt in 1866. The church was rebuilt and extended in 1895, when it was given its own parish. The northern extensions were removed, and a chancel, porch and new vestry added. The interior was entirely reconstructed, and the gallery was removed. The church was Grade II listed in 1986. The church is built of brick, and has a two-level roof of pantiles and stone slates. There is a three-bay nave and a two-bay chancel. The windows have round heads, and that at the east end has 19th-century stained glass. The octagonal wooden bellcote survives, and the chancel has a brick bell turret.

Barlby High School is a mixed secondary school located in Barlby, North Yorkshire, England. The school opened in 1960.Previously a community school administered by North Yorkshire County Council, in September 2017 Barlby High School converted to academy status and is now sponsored by the Hope Sentamu Learning Trust. The school offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils.

The River Ouse swing bridge is a road bridge over the River Ouse in North Yorkshire, England. It was opened in 2004 when the A63 road bypassed the town of Selby, which traffic previously had to go through to cross the river. It is one of several bridges over the River Ouse between York and the mouth of the Ouse, where it joins the River Trent.

Cliff railway station was opened in 1840 as an original station of the Hull and Selby Railway. It was renamed Hemingbrough railway station in 1874. The station closed in 1967.

Cliffe Common railway station, also known as Cliff Common, formerly Cliff Common Gate, served the village of Cliffe, Selby, England from 1848 to 1964 on the Selby-Driffield line, and was the southern terminus of the Derwent Valley Light Railway.

Selby College is a tertiary college, offering A Level courses through its Sixth Form Academy, work-related vocational courses, apprenticeships, business training and adult education courses. It is located in Selby, North Yorkshire, England. The College is a provider of A levels and vocational education for sixteen to eighteen year olds. Selby provides apprenticeships, higher education including foundation degrees, honours degrees and HND/HNC level qualifications as well as workforce training. The College catchment area is mainly North Yorkshire, but it also stretches into the East Riding of Yorkshire and Northern Doncaster. The apprenticeship and higher education provision draws from the whole of Yorkshire and the Humber and beyond. Selby College merged with Wakefield College in March 2022 to form Heart of Yorkshire Education Group.

Barlow Church is a former parish church in Barlow, North Yorkshire, a village in England. There was a chapel of ease in the village, dependent on St Wilfrid's Church, Brayton, recorded in 1649. The chapel appears to have become disused following the English Restoration, but the current building was constructed before the end of the century. It was restored and altered in 1774, and again in the 19th century. In the 1970s, it was reordered, and more of the interior was given over to the chancel. It was Grade II listed in 1998. The church closed in 2012, and was converted into a house. The three-bay building is constructed of brick, with a pantile roof. There is a small wooden bellcote atop the south gable, with a lead roof and ornate weathervane. The south, west and north facades each have one two-light window, while the east facade has the entrance door and two windows. Before its conversion, there were 19th century pews, and a lectern and altar of similar date, and a brass war memorial plaque dating to about 1920. The Church of England describes it as "a simple, charming building".

Skipwith Common is a national nature reserve south of Skipwith, North Yorkshire, England. It is one of only three areas within the Vale of York that represent what the area was like before intensive agriculture took over. Natural England have described the reserve as having "international importance" on account of "its wet and dry heathland". The site used to be common land, and has seen use in the Bronze Age, during the Early modern European period, when it was harvested for peat, and during the 20th century when it was partly incorporated into an airfield during the Second World War. The site was given the designation of SSSI in 1958, SAC in 2004 and NNR in 2010.
