John Roach & Sons was a major 19th-century American shipbuilding and manufacturing firm founded in 1864 by Irish-American immigrant John Roach. Between 1871 and 1885, the company was the largest shipbuilding firm in the United States, building more iron ships than its next two major competitors combined. It was also by far the largest contractor to the U.S. Navy during this period, and at its peak is said to have been the nation's largest employer behind the railroads.

Beaver Valley (formerly known as Chandler's Hollow) straddles the Pennsylvania and Delaware border in Delaware County, PA and New Castle County, DE. An unincorporated place name, it is traversed by several streams which drain to Beaver Run which itself empties into the Brandywine River. It is approximately bounded by US Route 202 to the east, The Brandywine River to the west, Thompsons Bridge Road to the south, and Smithbridge Road to the north, with Beaver Valley Road encircling a large portion of the valley. The majority of the lands in Beaver Valley have been owned for decades by The Woodlawn Trustees, which designated in the early 1970s all of its Brandywine Hundred and Delaware County holdings in Beaver Valley and elsewhere as a wildlife refuge. In 2012, The Woodlawn Trustees submitted development plans to Concord Township Supervisors in Delaware County for the purpose of constructing approximately 500 housing units and a 225,000 square foot national retail store, all of which would adjoin the First State National Historical Park in Chadds Ford Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania and New Castle County, Delaware.

The William Hicklen House is a historic house at 502 Beaver Valley Road in Talleyville, Delaware. The house is a rare 18th-century plank-frame house, built by an early settler of the area. A stone wing was added to the house prior to 1800, and it was further enlarged in the 19th century.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Chadds Ford Township is an affluent township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located about 25 miles (40 km) southwest of Philadelphia. Prior to 1996, Chadds Ford Township was known as Birmingham Township; the name was changed to allow the township to correspond to both its census-designated place and to distinguish itself from the adjacent Birmingham Township in Chester County. As of the 2010 census, Chadds Ford Township had a population of 3,640, up from 3,170 at the 2000 census. Chadds Ford was home to N. C. Wyeth, his son Andrew Wyeth, his daughter Ann Wyeth McCoy, and his grandson Jamie Wyeth. Brandywine Battlefield, the site of the Battle of Brandywine during the American Revolutionary War, is located in the township, along with Brandywine River Museum, which houses much of the Wyeth collection.

Painters Crossing (or Painter's Crossroads) is a historic area of Chadds Ford Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States, near the intersection of U.S. Routes 1 and 202. The area is important in connection to the Revolutionary War battle at Brandywine. According to US History.org, Wayne posted a small brigade armed with four cannon, at Painter's Crossroads to cover the troops retreating toward Chester. They kept the main road to Chester open not only for Wayne's retreating men, but Nash's North Carolinians, and the rear guard of Sullivan's troops who were falling back from Dilworth. The area of Painter's Crossing is named after Samuel Painter, a Quaker who moved to America in 1682 with William Penn and who purchased a large expanse of land in the area along the Brandywine in 1707 from John Piggott. His descendants lived on the land for many generations afterward. Their history is recorded in the book Descendants of Samuel Painter 1699–1903 by Orrin Chalfort Painter. In the 1930s, the WPA Guide to Pennsylvania stated that it had a population of 37 and an altitude of 437 feet.A condominium complex a few hundred feet from this intersection carries the official name "Painter's Crossing." This name is a slightly edited version of the more historical name, "Painter's Crossroads."

William Painter Farm is a historic home located at Chadds Ford Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1808, and is a two-story painted brick building with a late 19th- and an early 20th-century addition. The home was used as a station on the Underground Railroad.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

Concord Mall, a shopping mall located north of the city of Wilmington in the unincorporated Brandywine Hundred area along U.S. Route 202, is Delaware's second-largest shopping mall. A short distance south of the Pennsylvania border, it attracts shoppers from Pennsylvania and other neighboring states wishing to take advantage of tax-free shopping in Delaware. The mall contains over 90 stores and features a fountain surrounded by a garden. It is owned by Namdar Realty Group. The mall anchors are Macy's, Macy's Home, and Boscov's.

Concord High School (CHS) is a public secondary school located in unincorporated New Castle County, Delaware, United States, with a Wilmington postal address. It is one of three high schools in the Brandywine School District. There were 1,084 students enrolled in the fall for the 2019–2020 school year. Kevin Palladinetti is the current principal of Concord High School.

The Ebright Azimuth is the point with the highest benchmark monument elevation in the U.S. state of Delaware. It is marked with a geodetic benchmark monument and has an elevation of 447.85 feet (136.50 m) above sea level. The only state high-point with a lower elevation is Britton Hill in the state of Florida at 345 feet (105 m) above sea level.

The Kuerner Farm, also known as Ring Farm, is an historic farm which is located in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. It is notable for its association with artist Andrew Wyeth, who created about one-third of his work, more than 1,000 paintings and drawings, on subjects he found there during a span of seventy-seven years. The farm was listed in the National Register of Historic Places and declared a National Historic Landmark in 2011. The property abuts the Brandywine Battlefield, another National Historic Landmark. The farm is open to public tours, operated by the Brandywine River Museum.

Widener University Delaware Law School (Delaware Law School and formerly Widener University School of Law) is a private law school in Wilmington, Delaware. It is one of two separate ABA-accredited law schools of Widener University. Widener University Law School was founded in 1971 as the Delaware Law School and became affiliated with Widener in 1975. In 1989, it was known as Widener University School of Law when it was combined with the campus in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. In 2015, the two campuses separated, with the Harrisburg one renamed to Widener University Commonwealth Law School.

Beaver Creek is a 2.62 mi (4.22 km) long 2nd order tributary to Brandywine Creek in New Castle County, Delaware.
