Fairhaven Station, also called Bellingham, is a train station serving Amtrak's Cascades route, as well as a bus station serving Greyhound Lines and local Whatcom Transportation Authority buses, in Bellingham, Washington, United States. Built in 1995, the station is located near the Bellingham Cruise Terminal, the southern connection for the Alaska Marine Highway. Water Taxi services and seasonal whale watching excursions also provide connections from the Bellingham Cruise Terminal to the San Juan Islands.Fairhaven Station is owned by the Port of Bellingham and is the last northbound stop in the United States on the Amtrak Cascades route before it enters Canada. (Passengers clear Canadian customs in Vancouver, so northbound trains do not stop at the border.)

Lairmont Manor, also known as the Larrabee House, is a 1914 Italian Renaissance style home located in Bellingham, Washington. It was designed by Carl Gould, who is most known for designing the main library at the University of Washington. The home was built for C. X. Larrabee, who wanted one of the finest homes in the northwest, but he died before its completion. Currently, the home is used for weddings and other special occasions.

The Bellingham Cruise Terminal is a ferry terminal and transportation hub located in Bellingham, Washington, United States. It is near the Fairhaven neighborhood and was completed in 1989 and provides easy interchange between various modes of transportation. Operated by the Port of Bellingham the facility serves over 200,000 passengers a year.

Zodiac is a two-masted schooner designed by William H. Hand, Jr. for Robert Wood Johnson and J. Seward Johnson, heirs to the Johnson & Johnson pharmaceuticals fortune. Hand intended to epitomize the best features of the American fishing schooner. The 160-foot-long (49 m) (sparred length; 127 feet (39 m) on deck), 145-ton vessel competed in transatlantic races. In 1931 the vessel was purchased by the San Francisco Bar Pilots Association, brought from the Atlantic, modified and placed in service as the pilot vessel California serving as such until retired in 1972.

The Gamwell House was designed by architects Longstaff & Black and was built in 1892. It is one of the most distinguished Late Victorian era homes in the area of Bellingham, Washington. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.The architectural firm of Longstaff and Black was "an eastern firm who had come from the Boston area to the Bellingham Bay real estate boom"; they also are credited with designing the Cascade County Courthouse in Montana.

Larrabee Elementary School was retired as a K–5 school in June 2014. The building now houses the Bellingham Family Partnership Program, part of Bellingham Public Schools. Larrabee Elementary School is permanently closed.

The Alfred L. Black House, also known as the Wahl House, is a historic residence located at 158 S. Forest St in Bellingham, Washington. The house was finished in 1903. It consists of four stories and includes 10 bedrooms, six bathrooms, a library, a billiard room, a music room, a ballroom, and a wrap around porch. The interior wood consists of fir. It is approximately 13,500 square feet.

Rain Forest is a bronze fountain/sculpture by James FitzGerald located on the campus of Western Washington University. Commissioned in 1959 and unveiled in 1960, it was the first work in the Western Washington University Public Sculpture Collection. The sculpture represents the temperate rainforests of the nearby Olympic Peninsula.

Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies is an interdisciplinary liberal arts college at Western Washington University. Instead of completing the general education requirements at Western, students take interdisciplinary classes at Fairhaven, which aim to cover the same breadth and depth of subjects, but within small, interdisciplinary seminars. When it comes time to move onto "concentrated studies," students have the option of pursuing any of the majors or minors offered by Western Washington University, but may also choose to shape their own interdisciplinary concentration or major, combining independent study, internships, and Western Washington University courses with Fairhaven courses to define their course of study. Another unique feature of the college: nearly all classes follow a small seminar format rather than a large lecture format. Class enrollment is rarely above twenty students and will sometimes have two professors for a given class instead of only one. Fairhaven students do not receive letter grades; instead, they are given narrative evaluations, in addition to writing their own self-evaluations, for each class.

Steam Work for Bellingham-II — or Untitled (Steam Work for Bellingham)— is a piece of contemporary art designed by Robert Morris and installed on the grounds of Western Washington University, Bellingham in 1974 as part of their public sculpture collection. It uses steam to create a fountain-like effect, which rises through a bed of rocks inside a 20' x 20' area delineated by wooden beams.The pipes leading from the university's cooling plant were unearthed by vandals in 1999 and engineers subsequently discovered they were badly corroded. It has since been repaired.

The College of the Environment at Western Washington University is one of the oldest environmental colleges in the US.

Western Washington University (WWU or Western) is a public university in Bellingham, Washington. The northernmost university in the contiguous United States, WWU was founded in 1893 as the state-funded New Whatcom Normal School, succeeding a private school of teaching for women founded in 1886. The university adopted its present name in 1977. WWU offers a variety of bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as limited doctorates. In 2022, there were 14,747 students, 13,801 of whom were undergraduate students, and 664 full time faculty. Its athletic teams are known as the Vikings, which compete in division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The main campus is located on 215 acres in Bellingham with a branch campus marine center in Anacortes. The university is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Additional accreditation is held by individual colleges.
