Georgetown is a city in Texas and the county seat of Williamson County, Texas, United States. The population was 67,176 at the 2020 census. It is 30 miles (48 km) north of Austin. Founded in 1875 from four existing colleges, the oldest of which had been founded 35 years earlier, Southwestern University is the oldest university in Texas. It is in Georgetown about one-half mile from the historic square. Georgetown has a notable range of Victorian commercial and residential architecture. In 1976, a local historic ordinance was passed to recognize and protect the significance of the historic central business district. In 1977, the Williamson County Courthouse Historical District, containing some 46 contributing structures, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Georgetown is also known as the "Red Poppy" Capital of Texas for the red poppy (Papaver rhoeas) wildflowers planted throughout the city. Georgetown's Red Poppy Festival, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors annually, is held in April each year on the historic square.

The Georgetown-Williamson County Veterans Memorial Plaza, or simply Veterans Memorial Plaza, is a memorial situated in Sun City Texas, in Georgetown, Texas, United States. The site hosts Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies, which have been attended by politicians and military personnel such as John Carter (2011), Sean MacFarland (2014), and Charles Schwertner (2014). Completed in the early 2000s, the plaza features more than 4,000 bricks inscribed with the names of veterans, as of 2015.

It was built in 1911 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996 for its industrial architecture. In 1985 and 1986, the building was remodeled to serve as Georgetown's police station.

Farmers State Bank is an historic limestone building located at 716 South Austin Avenue in Georgetown, Texas, United States. Once housing a Farmers State Bank, the building received Texas Historical Marker status in 2006, and currently houses the Williamson Museum. It is part of the Williamson County Courthouse Historic District.

The Williamson Museum is a local museum established in 1997 focused on the culture and heritage of Williamson County, Texas. The museum is located at 716 S. Austin Ave on the historic square in Georgetown, Texas, in the former Farmers State Bank building. The museum organization is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.

A bronze sculpture depicting Robert McAlpin Williamson by Lucas Adams is installed outside the Williamson Museum in Georgetown, Texas, United States. The statue was erected in December 2013, and cost $40,000. The museum raised approximately half the funds.
