Neuhausen railway station

Flurlingen is a municipality in the district of Andelfingen in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland.

The Cholfirst Tunnel is a tunnel in Switzerland. The tunnel lies in the northern canton of Zuerich, and forms part of the Autostrasse A4. It was completed in 1996, and is 1,260 metres (4,130 ft) long.The tunnel has three lanes (two heading for Zurich, and one heading for Schaffhausen). There is no central reservation.

Constructor Institute of Technology, formerly known as Constructor Institute and Schaffhausen Institute of Technology (SIT), is a private non-profit institute in Switzerland founded in 2019 by tech entrepreneur and investor Serg Bell. The Institute is a part of Constructor Group, comprising education services, technology, and a venture capital fund. The Group is inspired by the Constructor Theory, a proposal for a new mode of explanation in fundamental physics in the language of ergodic theory.

Neuhausen am Rheinfall (sometimes abbreviated as Neuhausen a. Rhf., called Neuhausen until 1938) is a town and a municipality in the canton of Schaffhausen in Switzerland. The town is close to the Rhine Falls, mainland Europe's largest waterfall.

The High Rhine (German: Hochrhein, pronounced [ˈhoːxˌʁaɪn] ) is the name used for the part of the Rhine that flows westbound from Lake Constance to Basel. The High Rhine begins at the outflow of the Rhine from the Untersee in Stein am Rhein and turns into the Upper Rhine in Basel. In contrast to the Alpine Rhine and Upper Rhine, the High Rhine flows mostly to the west. The section is marked by Rhine-kilometers 0 to 165, measurements beginning at the outflow of the Obersee at the Old Rhine Bridge in Constance. It is the first of four sections (High Rhine, Upper Rhine, Middle Rhine, Lower Rhine) of the Rhine between Lake Constance and the North Sea. In the western part, the Rhine marks the border between Germany and Switzerland, while in the eastern part, Switzerland owns areas north of the Rhine and surrounds the popular German holiday resort of Büsingen am Hochrhein. The term High Rhine was introduced by scientists in the 19th century.Above all geologists tried to differentiate the High Rhine (Hochrhein) linguistically from the Upper Rhine (German: Oberrhein). Until the 19th century, it was also known as the "Badisch-Swiss Rhine".

Neuhausen Rheinfall (German: Bahnhof Neuhausen Rheinfall) is a railway station in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, in the Swiss canton of Schaffhausen. The station opened on 13 December 2015, principally to serve the tourist attraction of the Rhine Falls, from which it takes its name. It is linked by a combination of bridges and elevators to the bank of the River Rhine, just below the waterfall.

The Rhine Falls (German: Rheinfall [ˈʁaɪnfal] , a singular noun) is a waterfall located in Switzerland and the most powerful waterfall in Europe. The falls are located on the High Rhine on the border between the cantons of Schaffhausen (SH) and Zürich (ZH), between the municipalities of Neuhausen am Rheinfall (SH) and Laufen-Uhwiesen/Dachsen (ZH), next to the town of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland. They are 150 metres (490 ft) wide and 23 metres (75 ft) high. In the winter months, the average water flow is 250 m3/s (8,800 cu ft/s), while in the summer, the average water flow is 600 m3/s (21,000 cu ft/s). The highest flow ever measured was more than 1,250 cubic metres per second (44,000 cu ft/s) in 1999, and the lowest, 95 cubic metres per second (3,400 cu ft/s) in 1921. The falls cannot be climbed by fish, except by eels that are able to worm their way up over the rocks.

Laufen Castle (German: Schloss Laufen) is a castle in the municipality of Laufen-Uhwiesen in the Swiss canton of Zurich. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance overlooking the Rhine Falls. The first documented reference to the castle dates to the year 858 when it was the home of the Barons of Laufen. It passed through several owners until the Old Zürich War (1439–1450) when the castle was acquired by the Fulach family, from whom the city of Zurich bought the castle in 1544. Following the Helvetic Republic (1798–1803) the castle was once again in private ownership, with the city of Zurich reacquiring the castle by buying it again in 1941.The castle now serves as a tourist attraction, and contains a restaurant and a youth hostel. Between 2009 and 2010 a project was undertaken to restore and expand the facilities, including a visitors’ centre situated in the former staff quarters, an exhibition in the northern part of the castle, and a wheelchair-accessible circular walkway with glass lift between castle and river levels. Laufen is overlooking Wörth Castle, on the opposite side of the Rhein river, in the Canton of Schaffhausen. The Rheinfall railway line passes through a tunnel under the castle, halting at the Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall station to the south of the tunnel and beneath the castle walls. The station is linked to the castle by a walkway.

The Evangelical Reformed Church of the Canton of Schaffhausen is a Reformed state church in Schaffhausen. In 2004 it had 36,000 members and 30 congregations, served by 40 pastors. The church was formed in 1529. It is a member of the Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches and the Conference of Churches on the Rhine. Congregations are in Altdorf, Bargen, Barzheim, Begginger, Beringen, Bibern, Buch, Buch, Buchberg, Büttenhardt, Dörflingen, Gaschlingen, Guntmadingen, Hallau, Hemishofen, Hemmental, Hofen, Lohn, Löhningen, Merishausen, Neuhausen, Neukirch, Oberhallau, Opfershofen, Osterfinger, Ramsen, Rüdlingen, Schleitheim, seven congregations in Schaffhausen, Siblingen, Stein-Burg, Stein am Rhein, Stetten, Thayngen, Trasadingen Its biggest and probably oldest church building is the Münster Schaffhausen. The Women ordination is allowed. The Blessing of same-sex unions is allowed.

Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall is a railway station in the Swiss canton of Zürich and municipality of Laufen-Uhwiesen. The station is overlooked by Schloss Laufen ("Laufen Castle") and in turn overlooks the famous Rhine Falls, from which it derives its name. It is located on the Swiss Federal Railway's Rheinfall line and is served by Zürich S-Bahn lines S12 and S33.The station is situated to the west of Schloss Laufen and its single platform overlooks the Rhine immediately below the falls. Immediately to the east of the station the railway line tunnels under the castle and then crosses the Rhine above the falls on a bridge that also carries pedestrian traffic. The station is linked to the castle by a walkway, and is mostly used by visitors to the castle and falls.In 2012, the government of the canton of Zürich proposed that Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall station should be closed from 2015, as it is unable to be adapted for disabled access and is too short to handle the longer trains that are to be introduced then. An alternative of relocating the station onto the nearby Rhine bridge was considered too expensive. The proposal has encountered significant opposition in the cantonal council.Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall station is one of two stations intended to serve the Rhine Falls, the other being Neuhausen Rheinfall station on the opposite bank of the river.

Neuhausen Badischer Bahnhof (sometimes abbreviated as Neuhausen Bad Bf) is one of three railway stations in the municipality of Neuhausen am Rheinfall (the others being Neuhausen and Neuhausen Rheinfall).

The Hallen für Neue Kunst was a museum for contemporary art, especially 'New Art' since 1965. The institute was located in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, on the banks of the river Rhine. It was founded and established in 1982/83 by the artist Urs Raussmüller. Being convinced that New Art needed time and space to unfold its impact, he intended to create a permanent situation for major, predominantly large-scale works by American and European artists. As one of the first transformations of an industrial building into an art museum, the Hallen für Neue Kunst were considered to be a model for museums all over the world. A total of 5,500 square meters in a former textile factory had been transformed into an exhibition for New Art, with Joseph Beuys' two-storied work "Das Kapital Raum 1970-1977" at its core. A large collection of architectural sculptures by Bruce Nauman were on display together with large groups of works of the pioneers of Minimal Art, Arte Povera, Land Art and Conceptual Art. Carl Andre's Cuts (1967) that was scarcely on display because of its enormous dimensions of (9.35 m x 13 m and a weight of app. 18 t) has found a place there. The Italian artist Mario Merz installed a capacious "villaggio" (village) with igloos, vines and neon lights. Sol LeWitt attributed numerous variations of cubes and wall drawings from the 1960s to the 1990s. Jannis Kounellis took the special situation of the building into account. Commenting on place and time, his works were closely connected with the surrounding space. The "Hallen" also showed a wide range of Robert Ryman's paintings as well as paintings by Robert Mangold. The Hallen für Neue Kunst were a privately run institution. Responsible for the artworks and the cultural projects was Raussmüller Collection & Projects. Closed since January 2014, the Hallen für Neue Kunst was forced to close in 2014 following a protracted 10-year lawsuit that depleted its modest resources and will not be reopened again.
