Oos, Baden-Württemberg

Baden-Baden station is the most important of the three railway stations in the city of Baden-Baden in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It is regularly served by local and long distance trains operated by Deutsche Bahn. It is also the served by two lines of the Karlsruhe Stadtbahn, operated by Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft ("Alb Valley Transport Company", AVG). The station is located at chainage 105.3 km on the Rhine Valley Railway (based on the original distance from Mannheim) in the Baden-Baden district of Oos. Until 1977, it was also the starting point of a branch line to the centre of Baden-Baden.

Fremersberg Tower (German: Fremersbergturm) is an 83-metre-tall (272 ft) telecommunication tower built of reinforced concrete with an observation deck 30 metres above ground. There is a small restaurant located next to the tower. Fremersberg Tower, which was built in 1961 is situated on 525-metre-high (1,722 ft) Fremersberg near Baden-Baden at 8°12'8" E and 48°45'10" N.

Sinzheim is a municipality in the district of Rastatt, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is located 6 km west of Baden-Baden, and 11 km south of Rastatt.

The Fremersberg is a hill, 524.6 m above sea level (NHN), on the western edge of the northern Black Forest in south Germany on the territory of the town of Baden-Baden and the municipality of Sinzheim. On the summit plateau, which is made of bunter sandstone there is the residential area of Fremersberg Turm with rented inn, which was built by the town of Baden-Baden in 1884, and the 85-metre-high Fremersberg Tower, built in 1961, a transmission tower with an observation platform.

The Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, located in the spa town of Baden-Baden, is Germany's largest opera and concert house, with a 2,500-seat capacity. The building was originally built in 1904 as Baden-Baden central railway station. This replaced the original railway station, constructed in 1845 as a part of a branch line connecting Baden-Baden station in the western outskirt with the city center. The building served as a railway station for several decades until the closure of the branch line, in 1977. The new construction was architecturally integrated with the former railway station and today encompasses the box office, the restaurant Aida, and a children's music space called Toccarion, sponsored by the Sigmund Kiener Foundation. Built by the Viennese architect Wilhelm Holzbauer, the concert hall opened on 18 April 1998. Following initial public startup funding, the Festspielhaus successfully converted to become the first privately financed European opera and concert company. Between 2003 and 2015, the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden Cultural Foundation presented the annual Herbert von Karajan Music Prize.

The Trinkhalle (pump house) in the Kurhaus spa complex in Baden-Baden, Germany was built 1839–42 by Heinrich Hübsch in a complementary architectural style as the spa's main building. The 90-metre arcade is lined with frescos and benches. The spa waters are said to have curative powers.

The Waldenecksee or Petersee is a quarry lake on the western edge of the Northern Black Forest. It lies in an exclave of the municipality of Sinzheim, surrounded by Baden-Baden, between Iberg and Fremersberg on the western side of the hill of Waldeneck. Around 1900 a quarry was established here that was worked until 1968. After that a lake formed on the floor of the quarry, about 200 metres long and 35–75 metres wide. One of its common names, the Petersee, is derived from the name of the former quarry owners, the Peter Porphyry Gravel Works (Porphyr-Schotterwerk Peter). Today it is leased as an angling lake and bathing is forbidden.

The Kurhaus is a spa resort, casino, and conference complex in Baden-Baden, Germany in the outskirts of the Black Forest.

Theater Baden-Baden at Goetheplatz(Götheplatz in German) is the city theater of Baden-Baden in the Black Forest inBaden-Württemberg, Germany. At the instigation of Edouard Bénazet, a former casino director, the theater was modeled on the Paris Opera by Charles Couteau. Especially for the opening in August 1862 Hector Berlioz composed the opera Béatrice et Bénédict after Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. In 1869 Jacques Offenbach conducted the premiere of his operetta La princesse de Trébizonde. Since 1918 the theater has had an ensemble of permanently employed actors. Opera and other works of the musical theater are also performed as part of guest performances and co-productions. At the beginning of the 1990s the theater was completely renovated and equipped with modern technology. The theater is one of the venues of the New Pop Festival. The premises, especially the foyer, can be rented for weddings and other events.

Varnhalt is a district of Baden-Baden in the state of Baden-Württemberg in southwestern Germany. It has about 2,000 residents. The village is situated at an altitude of 204 meters on the western slope of the Yberg (517 m), south-west of Baden-Baden. Viticulture and the wine trade are the main sources of income of its inhabitants.

The Lichtentaler Allee is a historic park and arboretum, set out as a 2.3 kilometer strolling avenue along the west bank of the river Oos in Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is open daily without charge. Woody plants The avenue is said to have begun in 1655 as path between the town market and Lichtenthal monastery. It was developed from 1850 to 1870 at the instigation of the casino Bénazet, and planted with a wide variety of trees and woody plants. Today the avenue contains about 300 types of native and exotic woody plants, including alders, azaleas, chestnuts, ginkgos, limes, magnolias, maples, oaks, and sycamores.
