The Manises UFO incident took place on 11 November 1979, forcing a commercial flight of the Spanish company Transportes Aéreos Españoles, with 109 passengers, to make an emergency landing at the Manises' airport in Valencia, Spain, when they were flying over Ibiza. After the emergency landing, a Spanish Air Force fighter aircraft took off from Los Llanos Base in order to intercept the mysterious object.It is the most famous UFO sighting in Spain.

Since June 2012, a bridge across the motorway has connected both parts. Local issues include noise pollution, caused by the nearby Valencia Airport

The municipality limits with Catarroja, Beniparrell, Silla, Valencia and Alcacer. The climate is mediterranean, so winters are mild and summers are pretty warm. The origin of Albal is at the time the Muslims governed this part of Spain. Its name comes from 'Dry land' in Arab language. Population (2016): 16136. Economy: Industries of plastics, furniture, agriculture and construction of buildings. There are also a lot of good restaurants where you can taste the typical valencian food.
