The Royal Norwegian Ministry of Defence (Norwegian: Det kgl. Forsvarsdepartement) is a Norwegian government ministry in charge of the formation and implementation of national security and defence policy, and for the overall management and control of the activities of subordinate agencies. The ministry is located at Glacisgata 1, Oslo, inside Akershus festning. The ministry is headed by the politically appointed Minister of Defence, currently Odd Roger Enoksen. The ministry controls a large group of defence-related agencies, not to be related with Ministry of Foreign Affairs that controls all intelligence-related agencies in the country.

The Norwegian Museum of Contemporary Art (Norwegian: Museet for samtidskunst) is a museum in Oslo, Norway. Since 2003, it is administratively a part of the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design.

Christiania Theatre, or Kristiania Theatre, was Norway's finest stage for the spoken drama from 4 October 1836 (opening date) to 1 September 1899. It was located at Bankplassen by the Akershus Fortress in central Christiania. It was the first lasting public theatre in Norway and the national stage of Norway and of Oslo during the 19th century.

Bankplassen ('The Bank Square') is a square in the neighborhood Kvadraturen in Oslo, bounded by Kongens gate, Myntgata and Kirkegata. Before 1953, Agnes Thorsens plass was also part of Bankplassen. The square takes its name after the building of the Christiania Department's Norges Bank located at 3 Bankplassen, built in 1830 as a division office after designs by architect Christian Heinrich Grosch. It is now used by the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design. It received in 2008 an addition designed by architect Sverre Fehn. When Norges Bank's headquarters were moved from Trondheim to Oslo, the Bank's new building at 4 Bankplassen was completed in 1906 after drawings by architect Ingvar Hjorth. On 1 September 1986, Norges Bank was moved to a new continuous block building with address at 2 Bankplassen, designed by architects Kjell Lund and Nils Slaatto. Several older apartment buildings were then integrated into the new building. Other well-known institutions on Bankplassen are the Engebret Cafè with address at 1 Bankplassen.

Engebret Café is a restaurant located at Bankplassen 1 in downtown Oslo, Norway. The food is based on exclusive (but expensive) Norwegian cuisine. The building housing the cafe dates from around 1760 and is listed and protected by law by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

Oslo International Church Music Festival (Norwegian: Oslo internasjonale Kirkemusikkfestival) is a church music festival held every year in March in Oslo, Norway.

The Armed Forces Museum of Norway (Norwegian: Forsvarsmuseet - The Defence Museum) is located at Akershus Castle (Building 62) in Oslo, Norway. Previously it was named Hærmuseet, The Army Museum (even earlier the Artillery Museum), therefore, the museum consists of mostly army materiel. The Armed Forces Museum is the main museum sorting under the Norwegian Armed Forces Museum superstructure.

Norges Bank / Noregs Bank is the central bank of Norway. The bank shall promote economic stability in Norway. Norges Bank also manages the Government Pension Fund of Norway and the bank’s own foreign exchange reserves.

The Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art is a privately owned contemporary art gallery in Oslo in Norway. It was founded and opened to the public in 1993. The collection's main focus is the American appropriation artists from the 1980s, but it is currently developing towards the international contemporary art scene, with artists like Jeff Koons, Richard Prince, Cindy Sherman, Matthew Barney, Tom Sachs, Doug Aitken, Olafur Eliasson, and Cai Guo-Qiang. The museum gives 6-7 temporary exhibitions each year. Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art collaborates with international institutions and produces exhibitions that travel worldwide. In 2012 the museum moved to two new buildings designed by Renzo Piano in Tjuvholmen.

Statholdergaarden is a gourmet restaurant in the Kvadraturen sector of central Oslo, Norway. The restaurant is led by Bocuse d'Or winning chef Bent Stiansen and his wife Anette Stiansen until her death in May 2010. Established by the couple in 1994, Statholdergaarden is merited with one Michelin star, and its wine selection rated "Best of Award of Excellence" by Wine Spectator.There is also a Danish inn, Statholderens Krostue, located in the building, a protected villa dated to 1640, which is the former home of Ulrik Frederik Gyldenløve and Oslo lodgings of Tordenskjold.

Gamle rådhus (English: The Old Town Hall) is a building with a long history in Oslo, Norway. It is one of the oldest buildings in the Norwegian capital. It was built as the first town hall in Christiania (a former name of the City of Oslo, not to be confused with the Old Town, Oslo) in 1641. The construction of the town hall got financial support by King Christian IV. The building has historically been used for many purposes. A restaurant was appointed in a side wing in 1856 and moved to the main house in 1925. From 1980 to 2010 a theatre museum was located in the side wing of the first floor. The Old Town Hall is listed and protected by law by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

The Nordic Bible Museum (Norwegian: Nordisk bibelmuseum) (Nobimu), located in Oslo, Norway, is the first Bible museum in the Nordic countries.
