Straus Street (Hebrew: רחוב שטראוס, Rehov Straus) is a north-south road in north-central Jerusalem. It starts at Jaffa Road and extends to Kikar HaShabbat (Sabbath Square), which marks the intersection of five streets: Straus Street, Yeshayahu Street, Malkhei Yisrael Street, Yehezkel Street, and Mea Shearim Road. The street was named for Nathan Straus, a prominent American merchant and Jewish philanthropist in the early twentieth century.

Edison Theater was a movie theater, cultural center and concert venue in the Zichron Moshe neighborhood of Jerusalem. The theater opened in 1932 and closed down in 1995.

Ezrat Yisrael (Hebrew: עזרת ישראל, "Help of Israel") is a former courtyard neighborhood in Jerusalem. The neighborhood consisted of buildings on either side of a lane, today named Ezrat Yisrael Street. The street is blocked on one end and opens onto Jaffa Road on the other end.

Bikur Cholim Hospital (Hebrew: בית החולים ביקור חולים) was a 200-bed general hospital in West Jerusalem, established in the 19th century and closed due to financial difficulties in the second decade of the 21st century. Until then, it was the oldest hospital in the country still operating. Bikur Cholim had obstetrics and cardiac departments, a modern neonatal intensive care unit, a pediatrics department, and bariatric and plastic surgery units. After 2010 it treated some 60,000 patients annually. With 700 administrators, doctors, nurses, technicians and cleaners, it was one of Jerusalem's largest downtown employers. One-third of the doctors were Israeli Arabs, many of whom chose Bikur Holim for their residencies.In December 2012 the hospital was taken over by Shaare Zedek Medical Center and continued to function as a branch of Shaare Zedek. The main hospital was then closed down, with the building on Haneviim (Prophets') Street, the maternity ward, which serves the residents of the nearby neighborhoods and various clinics, continuing to operate. At the same time, plans were submitted to the planning authorities for the restoration of the historic structure and its integration into a complex that includes commercial and housing areas. In 2020 the authorities have decided to also close the maternity ward, following guidelines which require such wards be located next to hospitals that can provide special medical services in case they are needed.

Lycée Français de Jérusalem (LFJ; Hebrew: בית הספר הצרפתי בירושלים, Arabic: المدرسة الفرنسية في القدس), or the Jerusalem French School, is a French international school in Jerusalem. Operating out of rented space in the Convent of St. Joseph, it serves levels maternelle (preschool) through lycée (senior high school/sixth form college).The Petite Ecole Francaise de Jerusalem, the predecessor to the LJF, was established in 1967. It currently rents its facilities from the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Apparition.As of circa 2015 the school has 14 classes with a total of 205 students. Historically enrollment ranged from 100 to 150 students.

Ticho House (Hebrew: בית טיכו, Beit Tikho) is a historical home in Jerusalem, now a museum administered as part of the Israel Museum. It was one of the first homes built outside the Old City walls in the 19th century.

Jerusalem–Central railway station (Hebrew: תחנת הרכבת ירושלים – מרכז, Tahanat HaRakevet Yerushalayim–Merkaz; Arabic: محطة أورشليم – مركز) is a proposed railway station in Jerusalem.

The 2002 Jaffa Street bombing was a suicide bombing which occurred on January 27, 2002 in the center of Jerusalem. One civilian was killed and about 100 civilians injured.

A Palestinian terrorist attack on Sbarro, a pizzeria in downtown Jerusalem, took place on 9 August 2001, in which 15 civilians were killed, including 7 children and a pregnant woman, and 130 wounded.

Even Yisrael (Hebrew: אבן ישראל, Rock of Israel) is a former courtyard neighborhood in Jerusalem. Built in 1875, it was the sixth Jewish neighborhood to be established outside the Old City walls. It is now part of the Nachlaot neighborhood. In 2004 the neighborhood underwent preservation and renovation by the Jerusalem Municipality, which re-paved and re-landscaped the central courtyard and added a small stone amphitheater for tour groups and daytime passersby.

Zikhron Moshe (Hebrew: זיכרון משה, lit. Memorial for Moses) is a Haredi neighborhood in central Jerusalem. The neighborhood is bordered by Geula to the north, Mekor Baruch to the west, David Yellin Street to the south, and Mea Shearim to the east. Founded in 1905, its first inhabitants were secular teachers. It was one of several neighborhoods in Jerusalem named for Sir Moses Montefiore.

Yehud was a province of the Neo-Babylonian Empire established in the former territories of the Kingdom of Judah, which was destroyed by the Babylonians in the aftermath of the Judahite revolts and the siege of Jerusalem in 587/6 BCE. It first existed as a Jewish administrative division under Gedaliah ben Aḥikam, who was later assassinated by a fellow Jew. The Fast of Gedaliah, a minor fast day in Judaism, was established in memory of this event, and is lamented by observant Jews even to this day. After the collapse of the Neo-Babylonian Empire in 539 BCE, the province was absorbed into the Persian Achaemenid Empire as a self-governing Jewish region called Yehud Medinata.
