Nuneaton ( nə-NEE-tən) is a market town in the borough of Nuneaton and Bedworth in northern Warwickshire, England, located adjacent to the county border with Leicestershire to the north-east. Nuneaton's population at the 2021 census was 88,813, making it the largest town in Warwickshire. Nuneaton's larger urban area, which also includes the large adjoining villages of Bulkington and Hartshill had a population of 99,372 in the 2021 census.Originally a small riverside settlement known as Etone, Nuneaton gained its name from a medieval nunnery which was established in the 12th century, during which it also became a small market town. It later developed into an important industrial town due to ribbon weaving and coal mining. The author George Eliot was born on a farm on the Arbury Estate just outside Nuneaton in 1819 and lived in the town for much of her early life. Her novel Scenes of Clerical Life (1858) depicts Nuneaton. There is a hospital named after her, The George Eliot Hospital. There is also a statue of George Eliot in the town centre.

The 'Gold Belt' is a public sculpture located in a walkway underneath the Vicarage Road bridge, Nuneaton, England. The walkway links Riversley Park and the George Eliot Memorial Gardens.The 'Gold Belt' was produced as a result of a project between local artist Alisha Miller, Warwickshire County Council and Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council in 2003. The 'Gold Belt' represents a coal miner's leather belt. This reinforces a local connection through Nuneaton's mining heritage and also links to the Union Wool and Leather Factory that used to be located on the site of a supermarket close to Riversley Park.The work was inspired by the motto, "a good reputation is better than a belt of gold", of Edward Melly who donated the park to the people of Nuneaton in 1907.

Riversley Park is an urban park in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, England, which covers an area of 13 acres (5.3 hectares) and is located immediately to the south of the town centre, with the River Anker flowing through it.

Nuneaton railway station serves the market town of Nuneaton in Warwickshire, England. The station is managed by West Midlands Trains. It is served by three railway lines: the Trent Valley section of the West Coast Main Line (WCML), the Birmingham-Leicester-Peterborough line and the Coventry to Nuneaton branch line. It was known, during the period 1924–1969, as Nuneaton Trent Valley, to distinguish it from the now closed Nuneaton Abbey Street station; many local people still refer to it as Trent Valley. The station lies on the north-eastern edge of Nuneaton town centre, just outside the ring road.

The Roman Catholic Parish of Our Lady of the Angels is located in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, England. The parish is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham and a part of the Rugby Deanery. Originally, it was the Parish Church for the whole of the town, until 1948 when the aforementioned Parish of St. Anne's was created out of it. Nuneaton Cricket Club Ground is a cricket ground in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. The first recorded match played by Nuneaton Cricket Club was in 1826. In 1880 Nuneaton played a United South of England Eleven. The ground hosted its first first-class match in 1912, when Warwickshire played Leicestershire. The following season the ground held its second first-class match, which was between Warwickshire and Gloucestershire. The third and final first-class match held on the ground came in 1914 when Warwickshire played Sussex.Nuneaton won the Warwickshire League Premier Division in 2016 under the captaincy of Lee Mcneill. Additionally, the ground held several Second XI Championship matches for the Warwickshire Second XI between 1959 and 1964. In 1982, the ground hosted a single match in the ICC Trophy between Canada and Gibraltar.In local domestic cricket, the ground is the home venue of Nuneaton Cricket Club.

The Nuneaton rail crash occurred on 6 June 1975, on the West Coast Main Line just south of Nuneaton railway station in Warwickshire, England, United Kingdom. The crash happened when the 23:30 sleeper from London Euston to Glasgow derailed after entering a temporary speed restriction at too high a speed. Six people (four passengers and two staff) died and 38 were injured. In the subsequent inquiry, the accident was deemed to have been caused by driver error, partially due to the failure of lineside equipment warning of the speed restriction.
