Douglas County is a county located in the north central portion of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 U.S. Census, the population was 144,237, having more than doubled since 1990. The county seat is Douglasville. The City of Villa Rica, and a small portion of Austell (South Cobb) are both also located in Douglas County. Douglas County is included in the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell, GA Metropolitan Statistical Area. It has attracted new residents as jobs have increased in the Atlanta area.

Douglas County Courthouse is a historic courthouse at 6754 West Broad Street in Douglasville, Georgia, United States. The courthouse was built in 1956, after the 1896 courthouse burned down. It was built where three prior courthouses originally stood. It was designed in the International Style by Harry E. Roos, Jr. of Southern Engineering.In 1998, after the opening of the new courthouse, it was set for demolition. However, the local Tourism and History Commission was able to convince the county government to keep it. It became the Douglas County Museum of History and Art. On October 24, 2002, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Arbor Place is a shopping mall in Douglasville, Georgia, United States. Opened in 1999, the mall features the traditional retailers JCPenney, Belk, Macy's, and Dillard's.

The Douglasville Commercial Historic District in Douglasville, Georgia is a historic district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.The listed area is 14 acres (5.7 ha), and consisted of four-and-a-half blocks of buildings along the south side of Broad St. facing north towards the railroad, between Adair St. and Club Drive, plus some buildings on the back sides of those blocks facing south onto Church St., plus some on the cross streets in between these blocks. In 1989 the area included 35 contributing buildings, a contributing structure, a contributing site, and a contributing object. Broad St. is now also known as Veterans Memorial Highway and as U.S. Route 78. It comprises the historic commercial area of Douglasville. It includes the modern Douglas County Courthouse and the historic courthouse square with historic landscaping, a 1914 Civil War monument, and a World War II monument. The courthouse square is the oldest resource. The district includes the historic railroad right-of-way across Broad Street through this downtown district. The oldest buildings were built in the 1880s.Selected buildings include: Douglasville Banking Company, in Beaux Arts style the former Gulf Oil Company service station, in Tudor Revival, from 1920s Palace Barber Shop, from c.1890s Masonic Lodge (c.1924) (see photo #13), at northeast corner of Church & Price Sts. Farmers & Merchants Bank (c.1912)The district was deemed significant as a typical Georgia railroad town's downtown commercial area.

Bill Arp is an unincorporated community in Douglas County, Georgia, United States. The nearby communities are Winston and Douglasville. A post office called Billarp was established in 1885, and remained in operation until 1907. The community has the name of humorist Bill Arp.

South Paulding High School is a public high school located in Paulding County, Georgia, United States. Opened in 2006, South Paulding is a part of the Paulding County School District. Beginning its second year (2007–2008), a 12th grade class was added and the student body was composed of 1657 students.

Douglas County High School, also known as Douglas County Comprehensive High School, is a public high school in Douglasville, Georgia, United States. It was the first high school to open in the Douglas County School District.

The Col. William T. Roberts House, at 8652 Campbellton St. in Douglasville, Georgia, was built in 1901. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.It is a two-story wood-frame house built in restrained version of Classical Revival style. It has a central hall, four-over-four plan. It has a full-width one-story front porch with a covered balcony above, and two side porches.It was built to serve as home of Colonel William T. Roberts (1858-1932) and his family, who had been Mayor of Douglasville, state representative for the county, and county solicitor. He lived here from 1901 to 1914, during which rose to national prominence. He was elected Solicitor General, i.e. a district attorney, for a multiple county area for two terms during 1895–1903, and elected State Senator for 1911–1912. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson appointed him to serve as attorney with the new Federal Trade Commission, and he moved to Washington, D.C. The National Register nomination states "he was the only known local Douglas County official to move up the political ladder to a national job, and one of the few in Georgia; especially in the half century following the Civil War."

Wellstar Douglas Hospital (formerly WellStar Douglas Hospital), originally known as Douglas Hospital and Douglas General Hospital, is a medical facility in Douglasville, Georgia. It opened in 1948. The original Douglas Hospital opened with 15 patient beds. In 1974, construction was completed on the new Douglas General Hospital, increasing the number of beds to 98. The new hospital opened in 1975. In 1976, Douglas Hospital opened its birthing center. It became one of the first hospitals in the nation where mothers and newborns roomed together. In 1993, Douglas General merged with several other hospitals in the Northwest Georgia Health System. In 1998, the system was renamed WellStar Health System.
