Zhongguo Meishuguan (National Art Museum) station (simplified Chinese: 中国美术馆站; traditional Chinese: 中國美術館站; pinyin: Zhōngguó Měishùguǎn zhàn) is a station on Line 8 of the Beijing Subway. It was opened on December 30, 2018. This station served as the terminus of the North section of Line 8 until December 31, 2021. The station is named after the National Art Museum of China.

China/Avant-Garde Exhibition is one of the most significant exhibitions in the history of Chinese contemporary art. Opening on February 5, 1989 at the National Art Museum of China (previously called the National Art Gallery), this exhibition included over 186 artists and approximately 300 artworks from all over China. Widely regarded as a pivotal moment in the history of contemporary Chinese art, the exhibition provided a comprehensive view of the experimental works that emerged in mainland China after 1985. Examples of experimental artworks included Xiao Lu's impromptu performance where the artist used a loaded handgun to shoot her own artwork called Dialogue and Wu Shanzhuan in his work called Big Business sold frozen shrimp in a makeshift market stand. These works, among others, led to the temporary closing of the exhibition.

The Dongcheng District (simplified Chinese: 东城区; traditional Chinese: 東城區; pinyin: Dōngchéng Qū; literally "east city district") of Beijing covers the eastern half of Beijing's urban core, including all of the eastern half of the Old City inside of the 2nd Ring Road with the northernmost extent crossing into the area within the 3rd Ring Road. Its 40.6 km2 (15.7 sq mi) area is further subdivided into 17 subdistricts. Settlement in the area dates back over a millennium. It did not formally become a district of the city until the establishment of the Republic of China in 1911. The name Dongcheng was first given to it in a 1958 reorganization; it has existed in its current form since a 2010 merger with the former Chongwen District to its south. Dongcheng includes many of Beijing's major cultural attractions, such as the Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. More than a quarter of the city's Major National Historical and Cultural Sites are inside its boundaries, with a similar percentage of those protected at the municipal level. Tiananmen Square is also in Dongcheng, along with other popular destinations for domestic and international tourists such as the bars and nightlife in the hutongs of Nanluoguxiang and the shopping in Wangfujing. Over three-quarters of the district's economic activity is in the service sector.

The Dongsi Mosque (simplified Chinese: 东四清真寺; traditional Chinese: 東四清真寺; pinyin: Dōngsì Qīngzhēnsì) is a mosque in Dongsi Subdistrict, Dongcheng District, Beijing, China.

Dongsi Station (simplified Chinese: 东四站; traditional Chinese: 東四站; pinyin: Dōngsì Zhàn) is an interchange station on Line 5 and Line 6 of the Beijing Subway at Dongsi Subdistrict.

Dongsi (simplified Chinese: 东四; traditional Chinese: 東四; pinyin: Dōngsì,lit. "Eastern Four" or "Eastern Quadrangle") is the name of an intersection and surrounding neighborhood in Dongcheng District, Beijing. Dongsi, at the intersection of what is now Dongsi Avenues North, South and West and Chaoyangmen Inner Street, dates to the Yuan dynasty. The intersection is named after four paifangs or Chinese sign gates that marked the location and is known in Chinese as the Eastern Four Sign Gates or "Eastern Four" for short. Directly due west in Xicheng District, another intersection with four sign gates is called Xisi or the "Western Four".The sign gates at Dongsi and Xisi were removed in 1958 but the location names remain. Today, the Dongsi Station on Lines 5 and 6 of the Beijing Subway is located underneath the intersection. Beijing Bus 106, 110, 116, 684, and 夜10 stop south of the intersection. Bus 58, 101, 109, 112, 420, and 夜13 stop east of the intersection. Dongsi is known for the Longfusi Snack Street where traditional restaurants such as Baikuilaohao serve Beijing snack cuisine. The Dongsi Mosque, founded in 1356 and rebuilt in 1447, is located just south of the intersection.

Beijing No.166 High School (Chinese: 北京市一六六中学, pinyin: Běijīng shì yiliuliu zhōngxué) is an elite public beacon high school near the Forbidden City, in the historical ward of Dongcheng District, Beijing, China. It was founded in 1864 by the American pioneer Eliza Jane Gillett Bridgman as Bridgman Girls' College, later Peking Bridgman Girls' High School as a Christian academy offering female education, making it the oldest girls' school and the earliest western style academy in Beijing, and was credited with educating a large number of female Chinese leaders before the foundation of "Red China". Although the Bridgman Girls' High School became the public, co-education Beijing No.166 High School after the Communist government took over, nowadays, it still holds a special relationship with Mount Holyoke College, a member of American Seven Sisters, due to its historical traditions, and periodically dispatches students to visit the Cold Spring Harbour Laboratory. The school is proud that all of its liberal arts and most of its science students could pass the enrolment line of key universities (Tier 1 schools) in National Higher Education Entrance Examination, which is considered as a proof of elite school in China.

The Beijing Capital Theatre (北京首都剧场) is a theatre and performance hall located near the Wangfujing in downtown Beijing. The theatre was built in 1954, and was one of Beijing's most famous performance art venues. Many plays performed by domestic as well as foreign theatre companies are often held at the Capital Theatre. Its head company since 1956 has been the Beijing People's Art Theatre troop.

Zhangzizhong Lu Station (simplified Chinese: 张自忠路站; traditional Chinese: 張自忠路站; pinyin: Zhāngzìzhōnglù Zhàn) is a station on Line 5 of the Beijing Subway. Zhangzizhonglu, literally meaning Zhang Zizhong Road, is named after general Zhang Zizhong, who died in the Second Sino-Japanese War. It will become a transfer station for Line 3 in the future.

The National Art Museum of China (NAMOC, simplified Chinese: 中国美术馆; traditional Chinese: 中國美術館; pinyin: Zhōngguó měishùguǎn) is located at 1 Wusi Ave, Dongcheng District, Beijing, People's Republic of China. It is one of the largest art museums in China, and is funded by the Ministry of Culture. The construction of the museum started in 1958, and concluded in 1962. It has a total land area of 30,000 square metres (320,000 sq ft). The museum was renovated between May 2004 and January 2005, and has been given an additional area of 5,375 square metres (57,860 sq ft).

The Xuanren Temple (宣仁庙/宣仁廟) is a Taoist temple in Beijing, China. Located in the Dongcheng District, it was built in 1728 during the Qing Dynasty.

Lusongyuan Hotel is a 3-star traditional courtyard hotel in Beijing, China. The Hotel lies in the central district of Beijing, in an old-styled Hutong in the eastern part of the city. It is surrounded by many historical buildings built from the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties that are still preserved today. Hutongs and quadrangles are typical Beijing architectural structures featured here. Hutongs are ancient styled lanes unique to Beijing. Quadrangles are the main structures inside hutongs.
