Greenhead (Wishaw)

St Ignatius Church is a parish church of the Roman Catholic Church, located in the town of Wishaw in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is within the Diocese of Motherwell. The church building was constructed in 1865, and is a category A listed building. It was designed by George Goldie in a Gothic revival style. The Church now holds about 1100 residents every Saturday and Sunday. Prominent priests since the sixties include Mgr O'Donell, Fr Trench, Fr McGlinchey, Fr Morris, Canon McGovern.

Coltness High School is a secondary school located in Coltness, the largest suburb of Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. The school opened in 1966, and as of May 2015 had a roll of 780 pupils. The school serves the catchment area of Coltness and Cambusnethan, as well as settlements outside of Wishaw such as Cleland. From 2010 the school underwent a series of renovation works to modernise its aging facilities and reduce the likelihood of closure.

Wishaw (listen) (Scots: Wishae or Wisha (listen); Scottish Gaelic: Camas Neachdain) is a large town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, on the edge of the Clyde Valley, 15 miles (24 km) south-east of Glasgow city centre. The Burgh of Wishaw was formed in 1855 within Lanarkshire. it formed a joint large burgh with its neighbour Motherwell from 1920 until its dissolution when Scottish local authorities were restructured in 1975, and was then in Motherwell district within the Strathclyde region until 1996. The town is part of the Motherwell and Wishaw constituency. It has the postal code of ML2 and the dialling code 01698.

Cambusnethan is a large village and suburb on the eastern edge of Wishaw, North Lanarkshire in Scotland. It is approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) long, straddling both sides of the A722 on a hill overlooking Wishaw.

South Wishaw Parish Church is a Parish church of the Church of Scotland, serving the Southern area of Wishaw, North Lanarkshire(stretching from the Main Street down to the banks of the River Clyde - including Pather, Netherton, and the southern part of the town centre). Greenhead Moss Community Nature Park, or simply Greenhead Moss is a nature reserve and public park in the town of Wishaw in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. Despite its small area of only 100 hectares, the park has many different flora and fauna. The most notable feature of the park is the Perchy Pond, an artificial pond known for its many Swans and Amphibians. The area is naturally occurring, and the area around the pond was designated as a Local nature reserve (LNR), in 1989, with the rest of the Moss being designated so by 2013. The main habitat is moorland and Bogs, although flower Meadows and woods are also predominant.

St Aidan's High School (simply referred to as St Aidan's) is an 11–18 mixed, Roman Catholic, secondary school in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Motherwell.It was rated 'good' by Education Scotland following its inspection in December 2018, and was ranked 139th out of 339 secondary schools in Scotland for exam results in 2019.

Overtown railway station, also known as Overtown Road railway station, served the village of Overtown, North Lanarkshire, Scotland from 1843 to 1942 on the Wishaw and Coltness Railway.

Cambusnethan railway station served the village of Cambusnethan, North Lanarkshire, Scotland, from 1901 to 1917 on the Wishaw, Cambusnethan and Coltness Railway.

Overtown is a village in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is located to the east of the River Clyde, about 1 mile (1.6 km) south of Wishaw. Originally developed as a mining village in the 19th century, its population declined after the closure of the coal mines and the associated railways in the 1950s.The village only has a few buildings of note, Clyde Valley High School, which is located to the North-West, and Overtown Primary School. Overtown also has a community centre, a parish Church which serves as a focal point for the community and a small number of independent shops and takeaway restaurants. A "First Glasgow" (the former "Hutchison") bus depot is located in the village. The A71 road, that links Edinburgh with Ayrshire, passes through Overtown. The road is the main street of the village. It is located on the edge of the Clyde Valley, and is only 1 mile (1.6 kilometres) away from Garrion Bridge. The West Coast Main Line also passes through the village, but no passenger service trains stop there.

Pather is a suburb of Wishaw, Scotland and was initially built as a council estate. It is situated around ½ miles (0.8 km) from the town centre. Pather can be entered by vehicle from Caledonian Road into either Lomond Drive or Tarbert Avenue. Pedestrian access is also available from Dimsdale at the top of the estate and from Thornlie Gill onto Lomond Drive as well as at The Tunnel area on Caladonian Road. Wishaw railway station is a railway station in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and lies on the Wishaw Deviation Line just south of the single track link line which connects to the West Coast Main Line at Shieldmuir.
