Balnarring railway station was located on the Red Hill railway line. The line was opened in 1921 and was one of the more short-lived branch lines on the Victorian Railways closing in 1953 along with a few other smaller branch lines in the railways system. Following official closure of the line, trains (railmotors) continued to run as far as Balnarring to cater for the Balnarring picnic races, Lord Somers camp and a Railway Historical Society tour in 1956. Part of the railway alignment between Red Hill and Merricks stations has been converted into an equestrian trail with the remaining majority of the line now located on private properties. The station is located in private property with almost no remains of the platform left.

Bittern is a rural town in Metropolitan Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula located 82 km southeast from Melbourne's central business district, as a part of the urban enclave on Western Port comprising Bittern, Hastings, Crib Point, Somerville, and Tyabb. It is served by Bittern railway station on the Stony Point greater-metropolitan line and by the 782 bus route operated by Peninsula Bus Lines between Frankston and Flinders. Bittern is named after the shy wetland bird, the Australasian bittern, which reflects the town's location amongst significant areas of native bushland and dense coastal vegetation.

Morradoo railway station is located on the Stony Point line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the town of Crib Point, and it opened on 7 November 1960 as Rail Motor Stopping Place Number 15. It was renamed Morradoo in 1996.A platform was provided at the stopping place by November 1963. In 1996, the platform was extended to 52 metres in length, and a new shelter was erected. This made the platform the second shortest with a regular service in Victoria (the shortest being at Leawarra, on the same line). The station was renamed as the result of a local competition in 1996, with the winning entry being Morradoo, suggested by Bree Saunders of Crib Point Primary School. Morradoo comes from an Aboriginal word meaning "powder and shot", and was the original name for Crib Point. Flashing light signals were provided at the Disney Road level crossing, located at the Up end of the station, in December 1973, with boom barriers provided later on in 2011.On 22 June 1981, the passenger service between Frankston and Stony Point was withdrawn and replaced with a bus service, with the line between Long Island Junction and Stony Point also closing on the same day. On 16 September 1984, promotional trips for the reopening of the line began, with the passenger service reinstated on 27 September 1984.

On 16 September 1984, promotional trips for the reopening of the line began, with the passenger service reinstated on 27 September 1984.Flashing light signals were provided at the nearby Woolleys Road level crossing, located in the Down direction of the station, in 1984, with boom barriers provided later on in 2010.The current passenger shelters were provided in February 1986, replacing the original timber station building.In 1991, a siding at the station was abolished.
