The Joachimsthal Gymnasium (German Joachimsthalsches or Joachimsthaler Gymnasium), was a princely high school (German Fürstenschule) for gifted boys, founded in 1607 in Joachimsthal, Brandenburg. In 1636, during the Thirty Years' War, the school’s buildings were destroyed, and the school migrated to Berlin. In 1912 it moved again, to Templin, where it was a boarding school.

The Haus der Berliner Festspiele is a theater in Berlin (Schaperstraße 24, 10719 Berlin). It was opened on 1 May 1963 as the "Theater der Freien Volksbühne". Previously, the West Berlin part of the former Volksbühne Berlin, the Freie Volksbühne Berlin, which was founded in 1948, had used the Theater am Kurfürstendamm as its venue from 1949 to 1963.Under the direction of Erwin Piscator, the theatre moved into its own new building in 1963. The architect was Fritz Bornemann, who also designed the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the America Memorial Library in Berlin, among others. Rolf Hochhuth's tragedy Der Stellvertreter, which Intendant Piscator had premiered at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm in February 1963, was reopened here on 1 July 1963. Under artistic director Kurt Hübner (1973–1986), directors such as Peter Zadek, Klaus Michael Grüber and Hans Neuenfels offered avant-garde and risk-taking productions without a permanent ensemble. From 1986 to 1990 Neuenfels was artistic director, from 1990 to 1992 Hermann Treusch.In 1992, the Senate of Berlin withdrew funding from the Theater der Freien Volksbühne, and in 1999 it was sold to an investor. In 2000, the theatre was rented by the federal government and made available to the Berliner Festspiele. In April 2001, it was reopened as the Haus der Berliner Festspiele and played host to events at various festivals throughout the year. The house, with a capacity of well over 1,000 seats (Main Stage: 999, Side Stage: 280, Upper Foyer: 200, Rehearsal Stage: 100, Box Office Hall: 200), has remained almost unchanged to this day and is a listed building. Since its construction, the Berliner Festspiele has regularly used it for the Berliner Theatertreffen and international guest performances. As a festival and event venue, it presents international artists from all fields throughout the year, for example international authors every September as part of the Berlin International Literature Festival.

The Bundeshaus (Federal House) is a building in the district of Wilmersdorf in Berlin, Germany that is the domicile of Federal Government agencies in Berlin, among others the Federal Office of Administration.

The Artillerie Prüfungskommission, (Artillery Test Commission) was founded in 1809 as part of the artillery of the Prussian Army. It was responsible for answering technical questions, testing the quality of new artillery materiel, and executing experiments. The Artillerie Prüfungskommission later became part of the Imperial German Army. Other nations had equivalent authorities, e.g. the Austro-Hungarian was called Artilleriekomitee. The former headquarters of the Artillerie Prüfungskommission on the Bundesallee in Berlin are still standing.

Spichernstraße is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the and the lines, located in Wilmersdorf neighbourhood. The U3 (then called A II and B II) portion opened on 2 June 1959, replacing the nearby Nürnberger Platz station, which was closed and dismantled. The U9 portion, which lies deeper underground, opened on 28 August 1961 as the southern terminus of the new line, then called G. The eponymous street is named after Spicheren in Lorraine, France, site of the 1870 Battle of Spicheren.

The Käthe Kollwitz Museum is a museum in Berlin that owns one of the largest collections of works by the German artist Käthe Kollwitz (1867–1945), who lived and worked in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg for over 50 years.The museum opened in 1986, and traces its origins to the art collector Hans Pels-Leusden (d.1993). Pels-Leusden had been collecting the artist's works since 1950, and created his first Kollwitz exhibition in 1965. He endowed 95 printed graphics, 40 drawings and 10 original posters to the museum. The museum now owns over 200 works, including prints, drawings, posters, sculptures and woodcuts. Highlights include the lithograph Brot! (1924), the self-portraits, the woodcut cycle Krieg (1922/23), works on the theme of death, and a woodcut in remembrance of Karl Liebknecht (1919/1920). The upper floor contains a 2.1-metre-high sculpture of Kollwitz by Gustav Seitz. There are special exhibitions roughly twice a year.The museum is located on Fasanenstraße, in a villa from 1871 featuring late-classicist modifications from 1897. The building was partly destroyed during the Second World War, and not fully restored until the 1980s. It now forms part of the so-called Wintergartenensemble, together with the nearby Literaturhaus Berlin (including the Café Wintergarten) and the Villa Grisebach.

Nürnberger Platz was a Berlin U-Bahn station on what is now the , located under the square of the same name in Wilmersdorf on the border with Charlottenburg. The station opened on 12 October 1913 and was permanently closed on 1 June 1959.

Kirche am Hohenzollernplatz (Church at Hohenzollernplatz ) is the church of the Evangelical Congregation at Hohenzollernplatz, a member of today's Protestant umbrella Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia. The church is located on the eastern side of Hohenzollernplatz in the locality of Wilmersdorf, in the Berlin borough of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. The building is considered a leading example of Brick Expressionism and a testimonial to the unique quality of expressionist church architecture in Berlin. The naming of the church after the city square it faces was originally considered a temporary solution until a more suitable one was chosen. The name stuck however, though the debate continues.

In the Mykonos restaurant assassinations (Persian: ترور رستوران میکونوس; also the "Mykonos Incident"), Iranian-Kurdish opposition leaders Sadegh Sharafkandi, Fattah Abdoli, Homayoun Ardalan and their translator Nouri Dehkordi, were assassinated at the Mykonos Greek restaurant in Berlin, Germany on 17 September 1992. The assassination took place during the KDPI insurgency (1989–96), as part of the general Kurdish separatism in Iran. The assassins were believed by German courts to have links to Iranian intelligence.

The Swissôtel Berlin was a luxury hotel in Berlin, Germany. The hotel overlooked the crossing of the Kurfürstendamm shopping avenue with Joachimstaler Straße, in the city's Charlottenburg quarter. Both the Zoo railway station and Kurfürstendamm U-Bahn station were nearby. As well as hotel and conference facilities, the hotel included Restaurant 44, which features Swiss cuisine and overlooks the Kurfürstendamm, as well as the Palermo bar and the Grande Gallerie cafe.The hotel won two awards, the 2008 Germany's Leading Business Hotel and the 2007 Germany's Leading Conference Hotel. It was managed by Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, which is part of the FRHI Hotels & Resorts group.

Uhlandstraße is the western terminus station of line U1 of the Berlin U-Bahn. It is located on Kurfürstendamm in the central Charlottenburg quarter of Berlin, among a mix of chain and high end shopping facilities.

The Café des Westens, on No.18/19 Kurfürstendamm in Berlin, was a coffeehouse which operated from 1898 to 1915, and became famous as a meeting place for turn of the century artists. It was known colloquially as Café Größenwahn; the German Größenwahn meaning "delusions of grandeur".
