Africa Hall is the permanent headquarters of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The structure, built in the span of only 18 months, was completed in February 1961. It covers an overall area of 75,000 m2, with a usable area of 13,800 m2, consisting of 3,600 m2 of conference halls, 5,500 m2 of offices and 4,700 m2 of general facilities. Its main characteristic is represented by the “continuous spaces” of the internal layout. Ten years later, in 1971, work was commenced on a project funded by the United Nations to extend the structure, which was completed in 1975. It consists of a block of 800 new offices, a 6-storey building to house the huge library and other buildings for general facilities. This extension work added a further 130,000 m2.Along with the Addis Ababa City Hall, Africa Hall was one of the two projects designed to demonstrate, in the words of Emperor Haile Selassie, “that it is possible to construct grand buildings here too [in Ethiopia], by erecting a couple of high-profile structures. It is not their complexity or size that matter, but the maximum possible use of home-produced materials, in order to shake our wealthy middle class (which keeps its money under the mattress) from the inactivity that also binds it in the field of construction, and stimulate it to invest its assets also in building to make this ‘great village’ a city and a true great capital”. It was here, in this conference center, that the African Union's predecessor, the Organization of African Unity (OAU) was founded on 25 May 1963. Also in this building is Afewerk Tekle's most famous work, Total Liberation of Africa, a 150 m2 stained glass triptych. The work depicts images symbolizing African nations uniting to tackle poverty and disease. Also designed by Afework Tekle are the geometric design surrounding the central window, reminiscent of patterns of traditional shema clothing, which was added after the original design of the building to commemorate a construction worker that died during its construction.

The National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) (Amharic: የብሔራዊ መረጃና ደህንነት አገልግሎት) is an Intelligence agency of the Ethiopian federal government tasked to defend, protect and advance the National Security and Interests of Ethiopia. It collects, analyze and disseminate intelligence for decision makers. It also is one of two national law enforcement agencies, in Ethiopia next to the Federal Police Commission. It tackles drug trafficking, cybercrime, arms trafficking, human, and other domestic or international organized crime. NISS organizes and leads the Joint Security and Intelligence Task Force established to maintain peace and security across the country. NISS also conducts counter-terrorism activities in collaboration with the different counterpart intelligence agencies and also with the Ethiopian Federal Police , Ethiopian National Defense Force , and other regional security bodies. It was re-established in 2013 GC and renamed the National Intelligence and Security Service although it already has a long extensive prior history in different format and shapes over the course of over 80 years under the Imperial government during Emperor Haile Selassie I and onward through 3 different governmental constitutions and changes. It is a huge contributor to Ethiopia's resources to Interpol and Afripol as the country's main agency against continental and international related crimes. Contributing to many signed agreements between African, and overseas countries in distrusting illegal activities within said borders and activities.

Africa Park is a park situated along Menelik II Avenue in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It stretches from Menelik Palace to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. Established in 1963, the park commemorates the foundation of the Organization of African Unity. It has been re-designed by Show Engineering Workshop in 1999 by Olivier Panhuys and architect Charbel Sassine. The park contains trees that were planted by heads of state during the 1963 inauguration, each tree bearing a label stating the leader's name alongside the flag of the nation.

The Sheraton Addis is an international hotel located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It is part of Marriott's Luxury Collection. It has 293 rooms, as well as a number of villas.

Zewditu Hospital is a hospital in central Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was built, owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, but was nationalized during the Derg regime in about 1976. The hospital is named after Empress Zauditu, the cousin and predecessor on the throne of Emperor Haile Selassie. Today, Zewditu Hospital is operated by the Ministry of Health.

The Ethiopian Federal Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (Amharic: የኢትዮጵያ የፌዴራል የስነ-ምግባርና የፀረ ሙስና ኮሚሽን; FEACC) is an Ethiopian government agency responsible for preventing and combating corruption and maintaining ethical governance. It was established in 2001 by Proclamation No. 235/2001.

The women's 800 metres event at the 2008 African Championships in Athletics was held at the Addis Ababa Stadium on May 3–4.

Addis Ababa Stadium (Amharic: አዲስ አበባ ስታዲየም) is a multi-purpose stadium in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It is used mostly for football matches although it also has athletics facilities. The stadium has a capacity of 35,000 people.

The 1962 African Cup of Nations was the third edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the soccer championship of Africa (CAF). It was hosted by Ethiopia. Nine countries entered the competition, including the reigning champions Egypt, meaning for the first time a qualification tournament was required. The finals only included four teams. Egypt, as holders, and Ethiopia as hosts, qualified automatically meaning each needed to play only one game to reach the final. Ethiopia won the tournament for the first time, defeating UAE 4-2, after extra time in the final.This tournament has the highest goals-per-game average in Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.

The Ethiopia Museum of Art and Science Science is a 15,000 m2 (160,000 sq ft) lying science museum in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed along with other high-ranking officials on 4 October 2022. Part of Chinese aided Addis Ababa Riverside Development Project Phase II, the museum contains exhibition hall dedicated to scientific and developmental research. The museum lies on 6.78 hectares (16.8 acres) with 9-metre (30 ft) circular shape dubbed "ring of wisdom" to denote "human ability and skillfulness to create objects". In addition, the second room is dedicated to a three-dimensional theatre movie called Dome Theatre. The museum also contains several building complexes and interactive display screens, cybersecurity, finance, geographical information system (GIS), service industries, data analysis, manufacturing, and robotics. During the inauguration, Abiy Ahmed highlighted the importance of the science museum for state-sponsored digital transformation in the country and promised that it would give opportunities for young people workshops.

The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Headquarters is a skyscraper in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia that was completed on 13 February 2022 and became the tallest building in Ethiopia. It serves as the headquarters of the state-owned Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, the country's largest bank. It also is the tallest building in all of East Africa.

Meskel Square (Amharic: መስቀል አደባባይ, romanized: mesik’el ādebabay, lit. 'Cross Square') is a public square in the city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It is often a site for public gatherings or for demonstrations and festivals, notably, the Meskel Festival from which it takes its name.
