Cabrini–Green, Chicago

Edward Jenner School, also known as Edward Jenner Elementary Academy of the Arts, was a public PK-8 school located in the Cabrini-Green area of the Near North Side, Chicago, Illinois, United States. Named after Edward Jenner, The school was opened and operated by the Chicago Public Schools (CPS). Jenner merged with Ogden International School in September 2018. The campus is now Ogden International–Jenner which serves grades Pre–K, 5th through 8th.

Cabrini–Green Homes was a Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) public housing project on the Near North Side of Chicago, Illinois. The Frances Cabrini Rowhouses and Extensions were south of Division Street, bordered by Larrabee Street to the west, Orleans Street to the east and Chicago Avenue to the south, with the William Green Homes to the northwest.At its peak, Cabrini–Green was home to 15,000 people, mostly living in mid- and high-rise apartment buildings. Crime and neglect created hostile living conditions for many residents, and "Cabrini–Green" became a metonym for problems associated with public housing in the United States. In 1995, CHA began tearing down dilapidated mid- and high-rise buildings, with the last demolished in 2011. Today, only the original, two-story rowhouses remain. The area has seen major redevelopment due to its proximity to downtown, resulting in a combination of upscale high-rises and townhouses, with some units being CHA-owned, creating a mixed-income neighborhood.

La Clark was a neighborhood in Central Chicago, Illinois, settled by people of Puerto Rican descent between the 1930s and 1960s. It encompassed an area from Grand Avenue in the south, Armitage Avenue and Clark Street in the north, Dearborn Street in the east, and Halsted Street in the west, except along Chicago Avenue, where it extended to Ashland Avenue. It was divided between the modern-day Near North Side and Lincoln Park community areas and contained parts of the modern-day Old Town and River North neighborhoods, among others.

Seward Park is a public park in Chicago, in the U.S. state of Illinois. Named after William H. Seward, the land for the park was acquired in 1907, and the park opened on July 4, 1908.

Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Chicago (formerly known as The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago) was founded in 1983, and closed in September 2017. The school was accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and was located in Chicago, Illinois. The school offered an Associate of Occupational Studies degree and Certificate Program in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts and an Associate of Occupational Studies degree in Le Cordon Bleu Pâtisserie and Baking.

Oak was a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's North Side Main Line, which is now part of the Brown Line. The station was located at 319 W. Oak Street in the Near North Side neighborhood of Chicago. Oak was situated south of Division, which closed at the same time as Oak, and north of Chicago. Oak opened in 1906 and closed on August 1, 1949, along with 22 other stations as part of a CTA service revision.

Division was a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's North Side Main Line, which is now part of the Brown Line. The station was located at 322 W. Division Street in the Near North Side neighborhood of Chicago. Division was situated south of Schiller and north of Oak, both of which closed at the same time as Division. Division opened on May 31, 1900, and closed on August 1, 1949, along with 22 other stations as part of a CTA service revision.

The Montgomery Ward Company Complex is the former national headquarters of Montgomery Ward, the United States' oldest mail order firm. The property is located along the North Branch of the Chicago River at 618 W. Chicago Avenue in Near North Side, Chicago, Illinois. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and as a National Historic Landmark on June 2, 1978.

Edwin Gilbert Cooley Vocational High School (also known as Cooley Vocational High School and Upper Grade Center, commonly known as Cooley High) was a public 4–year vocational high school and middle school located in the Old Town neighborhood on the Near North Side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Opened in 1958, Cooley was a part of the Chicago Public Schools district; serving grades 7 through 12. Cooley was named in honor of Edwin Gilbert Cooley (1857–1923), who served as superintendent of Chicago Public Schools from 1900 until 1909. Cooley closed in June 1979.

Japonais Chicago, which opened in 2003 under the Mirai Sushi Restaurant Group, offered French-Japanese fusion cuisine and was located at 600 W. Chicago Avenue in the River North neighborhood of Chicago. For eight years, the restaurant was led by Chef Gene Kato, who became a key figure there. In 2011, Chef Kato left to start Sumi Robata Bar.

The Montgomery is a 404-foot (123 m) tall, 26-story skyscraper in Near North Side, Chicago, Illinois. It was built in 1972 as part of the Montgomery Ward Company Complex to serve as a corporate headquarters. The architect was Minoru Yamasaki who also designed the World Trade Center at the same time. In 2005–2006, it was converted to residential use.

Barack Obama College Preparatory High School is a future high school in Chicago, Illinois that was scheduled to open in 2017 and will be named after President of the United States Barack Obama. It will be located right behind Skinner North Classical School and is planned to eventually be home to 1,200 students.The opening of the school was delayed in 2016 because the money was needed for a new teacher contract.
