Amatsukominato was formed on February 11, 1955, by the merger of the towns of Amatsu and Kominato. On February 11, 2005, Amatsukominato was merged into the expanded city of Kamogawa, and thus no longer exists as an independent municipality. In 2003 (the last data available before its merger into Kamogawa), the town had an estimated population of 7,294 and a density of 166 persons per km². Its total area was 43.95 km². Tsutsumori Shrine (筒森神社, Tsutsumori-jinja) is a Shinto shrine in Ōtaki, Chiba, in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. A folklore in the Chiba area says that Prince Ōtomo did not die in the Jinshin War and he escaped from the Ōmikyō Palace to the East with his wife, Princess Tōchi. According to the folklore, Princess Tōchi was pregnant and got sick when she arrived to the place named Tsutsumori, and died there because of the illness. People of that place felt sympathy for her and built this shrine commemorating her. This shrine is propitious for an easy delivery.

Minami Bōsō Quasi-National Park (南房総国定公園, Minami-Bōsō Kokutei Kōen) is a quasi-national park in the Kantō region of Honshū in Japan. It is rated a protected landscape (category V) according to the IUCN. The park includes numerous widely separated portions of the coastal areas of southern Bōsō Peninsula, ranging from Cape Futtsu on Tokyo Bay to the west, to Cape Inubō facing the Pacific Ocean in the east. A portion of the park, located offshore the city of Katsuura has been designated as an underwater marine park since June 7, 1974. With the location of the park near to the Tokyo Metropolis, and its mild climate, the area attracts many visitors for water sports, camping, and flower viewing.Like all Quasi-National Parks in Japan, the park is managed by local prefectural governments.

The dam impounds about 25 ha of land when full and can store 2740 thousand cubic meters of water. The construction of the dam was started on 1983 and completed in 1998.

The Kyōnin-ji, situated in Kamogawa, Chiba Prefecture, was founded on 5 March 1281 and is one of the most important historic temples of Nichiren-shū. On 11 November 1264, following an invite by Kudō Yoshitaka Lord of Amatsu, Nichiren came under attack by Nembutsu adherents while on his way to the Lord’s residence. Kyōninbō Nichigyō and Kudō Yoshitaka who rushed to his aid were killed in the event while two other of Nichiren's companions were injured. Legend has it that Nichiren's prayer beads protected him from serious injuries. In remembrance of those events Nichiryū, son of the killed Kudō Yoshitaka and a disciple of Nichiren, founded the temple in 1281. Next to buildings like the Soshidō (founders hall) and the Hondō (great hall) an 800-year-old cedar tree are regarded as the temple's main landmarks. According to legend the goddess Kishimojin appeared to Nichiren in the old cedar tree.

Yōrō Keikoku Okukiyosumi Prefectural Natural Park (県立養老渓谷奥清澄自然公園, Kenritsu Yōrō Keikoku Okukiyosumi shizen kōen) is a Prefectural Natural Park in southern Chiba Prefecture, Japan. First designated for protection in 1935, the park's central features are the Yōrō Valley (養老渓谷) and Kiyosumi Mountains (清澄山地). The park spans the municipalities of Ichihara, Kamogawa, Kimitsu, and Ōtaki.
