Chennai Aero Park is a proposed aerospace industrial park in Chennai, India. The proposal is supported by the Confederation of Indian Industry, and it is estimated that the park will take up 250 acres (1.0 km2) of land and create more than 100,000 jobs. The Park would attract global players and engage in the design, manufacture and maintenance of all types of aircraft for both civil and military programmes, including training and education.With the objective of creating an integrated ecosystem for Aerospace Industry development covering design, engineering, manufacturing, servicing and maintenance of aircraft for civil and defence sector in Tamil Nadu, TIDCO is establishing an Aerospace components’ manufacturing park for aerospace industry in Sriperumbudhur (Chennai) in an area of around 250 acres( expandable to 700 acres). The developed plots in sizes of 1 acre, 2 acres, 5 acres, 10 acres, etc in the park will be offered to the aerospace companies. This park will have the following facilities. 1. Metal/composite manufacturing facilities 2. Technology and IT services 3. Avionics 4. Assembly facilities and maintenance facilities 5. Training and R&D The park will have developed industrial plot in the utilities like power and water and facilitate the building of communication, connectivity and social infrastructures to suit to specific needs of the park. Semmozhi Poonga, variously spelled as Semmoli Poonga (literally translated to "Classical Language Park"), is a botanical garden in Chennai set up jointly by the Horticulture and Agricultural Engineering department of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The garden was opened on 24 November 2010 by then chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and is the first botanical garden in the city. The garden is located in the Cathedral Road–Anna Salai junction, opposite the American Consulate, on the erstwhile Drive-in Woodlands Hotel. Encompassing an area of 20 acres (320 grounds), it was built at a cost of ₹ 80 million. More than 500 species of plants are being grown in the area, in addition to the 80 trees that was already in existence during the development of the park, some of them being more than 100 years old. The garden houses some of the popular exotic flora and rare plant species, medicinal and aromatic herbs. Many of the exotic plants are imported from countries like China and Thailand, including a plethora of bonsai varieties of ficus microcarpa and ficus ginseng.

Anna Flyover, also known as Gemini Flyover, is a dual-armed grade separator in the central business district of Chennai, India. Built in 1973 and dubbed one of the top-rated flyovers in the country, it is Asia's First Grade Separator, the first flyover in Chennai and the third Flyover in India, after the ones at Kemps Corner and Marine Drive in Mumbai. It was the longest flyover in the country when it was built. Its main purpose is to allow traffic movement on Mount Road—now renamed Anna Salai—near Nungambakkam High Road (Mahatma Gandhi Salai) to continue unhindered by the cross traffic. The presence of the Gemini Studios, which was demolished later, resulted in the flyover coming to be known as Gemini Flyover and the area being referred to as the Gemini Circle. On two sides of the circle roundabout below the centre of the flyover are two identical statues of a man controlling a horse placed there to commemorate the banning of horse racing. Anna Flyover has been beautified with other elements such as water fountains, landscaping of its 24,000 square feet (2,200 m2) traffic islands, cove lighting under the traffic movement area, restoration of the horse statue, a toilet for the police personnel, murals depicting social messages, and so forth.

Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC), is a union for film producers in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, based in Chennai. Formed on 18 July 1979, the group has a charitable trust fund to provide financial support to retired producers, voiced support for film producers and have collectively protested for socio-political issues.Elections in the Producers council, which is made up of over 1500 members, are held once every two years to determine the president of the group. Actor-producer Vishal has been elected as the President of the Producers council after he won the election held in April 2017. On 25 December 2018, R. Parthiepan was appointed as the new Vice President of the Tamil Film Producers Council replacing RK SURESH and kathireasan who were jointly holding the position until 24 December 2018.

The Consulate General of the United States of America Chennai represents the interests of the United States government in Chennai (formerly known as Madras), India and surrounding regions. The consulate reports to the ambassador at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi. The current Consul General, the 26th, is Judith Ravin, incumbent since September 2020. She was preceded by Robert G. M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women (Autonomous) is an arts and science college located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu in southern India. It is affiliated with the University of Madras. St. George's Cathedral is a Church of South India (previously Church of England and Anglican) cathedral in Chennai, India. The cathedral was built in 1815. St. George's occupies an important place in the history of Christianity in India, as the Church of South India was inaugurated here on 27 September 1947. It marked the breaking down of ecclesiastical barriers between Protestants of various traditions. The architecture of St. George's Cathedral is remarkable for its tall spire, pillars, marble statues, mural tablets and memorials inside. The cathedral is a piece of architectural grandeur resting on a tier of steps. The governors of Fort St. George and their families worshipped here as also the viceroys when they visited Madras.

The Safire Theatre complex was India's first largest multi-theatre complex located in the southern city of Chennai that functioned from 1964 to 1994. The theatre complex was located on Mount Road (now Anna Salai) and consisted of three screening halls, namely, Safire, Blue Diamond, and Emerald. While the largest named Safire screened Hollywood movies, the other two, Emerald and Diamond screened Indian films. Safire was considered to be the first 70 mm theatre in India.

Taj Coromandel is a five-star luxury hotel located in Chennai, India. Named after the Coromandel Coast, the HACCP- and ISO 14001-certified hotel was opened in 1974. Owned by Oriental Hotels Limited, an associate of the Taj Group of Hotels, it is classified under the group's luxury hotels section. Taj Coromandel was the first and only luxury hotel in the city for almost four decades.
