The CK-12 Foundation is a California-based non-profit organization which aims to increase access to low-cost K-12 education in the United States and abroad. CK-12 provides free and customizable K-12 open educational resources aligned to state curriculum standards. As of 2022, the foundation's tools were used by over 200,000,000 students worldwide.CK-12 was set up to support K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education. It first produced content via a web-based platform called "FlexBook."

Kehillah Jewish High School is an independent college preparatory high school located in Palo Alto, California. "Kehillah" is a Hebrew word meaning "community." The school is one of a series of pluralistic (community) Jewish day schools in the United States at the high school level. In the fall of 2005, the school moved from its original location in San Jose to its new campus at 3900 Fabian Way, Palo Alto, where it also hosted the Keddem Congregation (Reconstructionist) for several years. Kehillah Jewish High School was founded in 2000 and opened in the fall of 2002 on the Blackford High School campus in San Jose with 32 9th grade students. Rabbi Reuven Greenvald joined Kehillah as its Head-of-School in the summer of 2004 and left in March 2007. He was replaced by Lillian Howard, who most recently served as the founding Head of School of the Shoshana S. Cardin School in Baltimore, Maryland. Upon Lillian Howard's retirement in June 2013, Rabbi Darren Kleinberg, Ph.D. became the Head of School. After Rabbi Darren Kleinberg, Ph.D. left in the end of the 2019-2020 school year Dr. Daisy Pellant became the new Head of School.Since 2002, Kehillah Jewish High School has grown from a 9th grade class of 33 students to a community of approximately 220 students in grades 9-12. The school experienced multiple years of double-digit enrollment growth. In 2016 Kehillah was described as the fastest-growing Jewish community high school in North America by Marc Kramer, co-executive director of Ravsak, a national Jewish community day school network. In addition to American students, Kehillah has a large Israeli student population. Students’ first languages include Russian, Hebrew, Spanish and French as well as English. They live as far south as Morgan Hill, as far north as Burlingame, and as far east as Castro Valley and Fremont. Approximately half attended public school through 8th grade, and the other half attended private middle schools.

The Foster Museum is a private non-profit single-artist museum located in Palo Alto, California, United States dedicated to the watercolor wilderness Journeys of artist-explorer Tony Foster (1936–). It houses the permanant collection of the Foster Art & Wilderness Foundation and opened to the public in 2016, offering free admission by appointment.

Intuit Inc. is an American business that specializes in financial software. The company is headquartered in Mountain View, California, and the CEO is Sasan Goodarzi. As of 2019, more than 95% of its revenues and earnings come from its activities within the United States. Intuit's products include the tax preparation application TurboTax, personal finance app Mint, the small business accounting program QuickBooks, the credit monitoring service Credit Karma, and email marketing platform Mailchimp.Intuit offers a free online service called TurboTax Free File as well as a similarly named service called TurboTax Free Edition which is not free for most users. TurboTax Free File was developed as part of an agreement whereby members of the Free File Alliance would offer tax preparation for individuals below an income threshold for free in exchange for the IRS not providing taxpayers with free pre-filled forms. In 2019, investigations by ProPublica found that Intuit deliberately steered taxpayers from the free TurboTax Free File to the paid TurboTax Free Edition using tactics including search engine delisting and a deceptive discount targeted to members of the military. Subsequent investigations by the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and the New York State Department of Financial Services reached similar conclusions, the latter concluding that Intuit engaged in "unfair and abusive practices".Intuit has lobbied extensively against the IRS providing taxpayers with free pre-filled forms, as is the norm in other developed countries. As of 2021, Intuit is the subject of multiple lawsuits, state-level investigations, and is under investigation by the FTC.

Founded in 1963, Palo Alto Chinese School (PACS) is located in Palo Alto, California and is the oldest Chinese school in the San Francisco Bay Area. The school was formed with a merger between a Cantonese school and a Mandarin school. The history of the Cantonese school could be traced back to 1960, when the Santa Clara Overseas Chinese School was founded. School hours are 7:00PM - 9:00PM on Friday nights at Jane Lathrop Stanford Middle School, 480 E. Meadow Dr, Palo Alto, from late August to early June. Annual tuition is $320 (new student and late register are $340). Mandarin Classes are from K thru 12th grades and ages from 5-18 years old. In higher grades, classes provide instruction in conversation, writing and culture. Cantonese classes are C1-C9 grades and ages from 5-18 years old. Cantonese classes are in 4 levels, roughly C1-2, C3-5, C6-8 and C9+ grades. Presently, in C3-4, Cantonese is taught in both Cantonese and English; in C8-9, both Cantonese and Pinyin Chinese are being taught. Cantonese classes are smaller; the curriculum and textbooks are designed to customize to the existing students. New students will be evaluated to the appropriate class levels. Palo Alto Chinese School is a member of the Association of Northern California Chinese Schools (ANCCS).

Cubberley Community Center known locally as "Cubberley", is a community center in Palo Alto, California that has been in operation since 1990. It is housed on the campus of the former Ellwood P. Cubberley High School. Space is available for rent by the hour, either one-time or on a regular basis for community related meetings, seminars, social events, dances, theatre performances, music rehearsals and athletic events.

Ellwood P. Cubberley High School (1956–1979) known locally as "Cubberley", was one of three public high schools in Palo Alto, California. The site of the closed school is now named Cubberley Community Center and used as a community center and used for many diverse activities.

Charleston Slough is a former Leslie salt pond that is now reverting to marsh on the western shore of San Francisco Bay.

Green Gables is a 1950s subdivision located in Palo Alto, California, United States. The subdivision was developed by Joseph Eichler, whose company built its first 63 homes in 1950. Eichler hired the architecture firm Anshen & Allen to design the one-story modernist houses. The houses in Green Gables represent Eichler's efforts to apply modernist principles to affordable single-family houses, which was considered a bold development strategy at the time. Contemporary critics acclaimed Eichler's work on Green Gables; Architectural Forum awarded it "Subdivision of the Year" in 1950 along with four of Eichler's other developments, and House Beautiful devoted a feature to the subdivision.The subdivision was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 28, 2005.

Greenmeadow is a subdivision located in southern Palo Alto, California.

The Rengstorff House was one of the first houses to be built in Mountain View, California. It was built c. 1867 by Henry Rengstorff, a prominent local businessman who operated a ferry between San Francisco and Mountain View. It is built in the Italianate Victorian architecture style. The house's three-bay front facade features an entrance pavilion topped by a balustrade and a pediment on the middle bay.

Permanente Creek is a 13.3-mile-long (21.4 km) stream originating on Black Mountain in Santa Clara County, California, United States. It is the namesake for the Kaiser Permanente health maintenance organization. Named by early Spanish explorers as Arroyo Permanente or Rio Permanente because of its perennial flow, the creek descends the east flank of Black Mountain then courses north through Los Altos and Mountain View culminating in southwest San Francisco Bay historically at the Mountain View Slough but now partly diverted via the Permanente Creek Diversion Channel to Stevens Creek and the Whisman Slough in San Francisco Bay.
