Wesseling (German pronunciation: [ˈvɛsəlɪŋ] (listen)) is an industrial German city on the Rhine bordering Cologne city on the south. With three chemical plants and a petroleum refinery within its city limits, it has an important place in the international petrochemical industry.

The Cologne Bonn Region (German: Region Köln/Bonn) is a metropolitan area in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany, covering the cities of Cologne, Bonn and Leverkusen, as well as the districts of Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis, Oberbergischer Kreis, Rhein-Erft-Kreis and Rhein-Sieg-Kreis. The region covers an area of 3,839 km² with 3.13 million inhabitants (population density 815/km²). The city centres of Cologne and Bonn are 24 kilometres apart as the crow flies. At the outer city limits, there are only 8 kilometres between Cologne-Libur and Bonn-Geislar. The Cologne/Bonn Region was established by local governments within the Cologne Government Region in 1992, to promote common policies in regional and urban planning, traffic management, environment and investment. Among the most prominent co-operative projects are the Cologne/Bonn Airport, the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg and the former Bonn–Cologne Railway Company. Also the Stadtbahn of both cities are connected, so there are light rail trains from Cologne Stadtbahn in Bonn and the Bonn Stadtbahn in Cologne. The largest local banks, Sparkasse KölnBonn and Volksbank Köln Bonn, operate in both cities. Both cities are directly connected by the autobahn A555. The Cologne/Bonn region lies within the larger Rhine-Ruhr region, and forms a counterbalance to the more integrated Ruhr area, which also lies within the Rhine-Ruhr. Since 2008, studies have been undertaken to incorporate cities of the Lower Rhine region (most notably the city of Düsseldorf) into the alliance, in order to form a Rhineland metropolitan region (Metropolregion Rheinland).

Sechtem station is a through station in the district of Sechtem of the town of Bornheim in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It was opened on 1 March 1844 on the Left Rhine line, which was opened between Cologne and Bonn by the Bonn–Cologne Railway Company on 15 February 1844. It has three platform tracks and it is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station.The station is served by the following two lines: It is also served by bus route 818, operated by Regionalverkehr Köln at 60-minute intervals.

The private brewery Heinrich Reissdorf GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1894 by Heinrich Reissdorf in Cologne. It produces a top fermented beer called Reissdorf Kölsch.

Niederkassel (Ripuarian: Neddekaaßel) is a town in the Rhein-Sieg district, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with a population of around 37,000 people. It is situated on the right bank of the Rhine, approx. 10 km (6 mi) north-east of Bonn and 15 km (9 mi) south-east of Cologne. Niederkassel is subdivided into seven quarters (from the south to the north): Mondorf, Rheidt, Niederkassel, Uckendorf, Stockem, Lülsdorf and Ranzel. People can walk next to the river Rhine in Lülsdorf, Niederkassel and Rheidt.

The Forstbotanischer Garten Köln (25 hectares) is an arboretum and woodland botanical garden located at Schillingsrotterstraße 100, Rodenkirchen, Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It forms part of the city's outer green belt and is open daily without charge. The garden was created between 1962–1964 on a former military site which was, until the end of World War I, a part of the Äußerer Festungsring Köln, the outer ring of fortresses surrounding Cologne. Its ruins have been integrated into the plantings as a rock garden. In the 1980s, an adjoining natural area was created as the Friedenswald with additional tree plantings. Today the garden contains exotic and native trees. Of particular interest are the Rhododendron ravine, heather garden, peonies (Paeonia), Japanese plantings (including Acer palmatum, Cercidiphyllum, and Bambusoideae), and North American plantings (1.5 hectares, including Sequoiadendron giganteum, Pinus ponderosa, and Abies concolor). The Friedenswald (20 hectares) contains a large meadow surrounded by deciduous and coniferous forests containing trees and shrubs from all nations with which Germany has diplomatic relations; tropical and subtropical species are represented by symbolic trees.

Friedhof Trenkebergstraße is a cemetery in Cologne, Germany. The cemetery is 4,600 m2 and offers space for 790 graves. Furthermore, there are 16 graves in this cemetery for German victims of the Second World War.

St. George's School is a state-approved, international school located in Germany. St George's is a private school and teaches the English National Curriculum (in form of IGCSE at Key Stage 4) and the IB Diploma Programme after Key Stage 4. Pupils are aged between 2 and 18. St. George's is a coeducational and non-denominational school which is run independently from local or state financial support. School uniform is compulsory with the aim of improving discipline, reducing social exclusion and strengthening the identity of the school. Cologne is one of the five governmental districts of the German Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located in the south-west of that state and covers the hills of the Eifel as well as the Bergisches Land. It was created in 1815, when Prussia reorganised its internal administration. In 1972 the Regierungsbezirk Aachen was incorporated.

Rodenkirchen (German: Köln-Rodenkirchen) is a southern borough (Stadtbezirk) of Cologne (Köln) in Germany. It has about 110,000 inhabitants and covers an area of 54.55 square kilometres (21.06 square miles). The borough includes the quarters Bayenthal, Godorf, Hahnwald, Immendorf, Marienburg, Meschenich, Raderberg, Raderthal, Rodenkirchen, Sürth, Rondorf, Weiß and Zollstock. The 1000-year-old quarter Rodenkirchen, situated close to the Rhine, today represents the center of the borough. It has more than 16,000 inhabitants.

The Kölner Rudergesellschaft 1891 (abbr. Kölner RG 1891 or just KRG, transl. Cologne Rowing Association or often Koelner RG 1891 in English media) is a rowing club from the German city of Cologne.
