Eschersheim is a city district of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It is part of the Ortsbezirk Mitte-Nord and is subdivided into the Stadtbezirke Eschersheim-Nord and Eschersheim-Süd. Eschersheim, with a historical record beginning around 1000, is a district in the north of Frankfurt. It sits above the Nidda River and on the opposite bank from Heddernheim. The old part of Eschersheim, "Alt-Eschersheim", is situated between the railroad and the public swimming pool. The patronage was held since 1467 by the Benedictine monastery Seligenstadt. Ecclesiastical Middle Authority was the Archdeacon of the provost of St. Peter in Mainz. Around 1900 Eschersheim, previously a rural village without industry, became a wealthy residential area; it was incorporated into Frankfurt in 1910. In the twenties and thirties Walter Gropius built the new settlement "Am Lindenbaum," around the water tower in the southern part of the district. In the fifties, more living complexes were built. One of Eschersheim's oldest landmarks is an ancient lime tree planted sometime shortly after 1648 to mark the end of the Thirty Years' War.

Nida was an ancient Roman town in the area today occupied by the northwestern suburbs of Frankfurt am Main, Germany, specifically Frankfurt-Heddernheim, on the edge of the Wetterau region. At the time of the Roman empire, it was the capital of the Civitas Taunensium. The name of the settlement is known thanks to written sources from Roman times and probably derives from the name of the adjacent river Nidda.

Kalbach-Riedberg is a borough (Ortsbezirk) of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It is subdivided into the Stadtbezirke Kalbach and Riedberg. Kalbach has a long history and has been mentioned in documented sources as early as year 772. 1200 years later, in 1972, Kalbach was incorporated into Frankfurt am Main. The Riedberg area of Kalbach-Riedberg has a more recent history. As a way to combat housing shortage in Frankfurt am Main, a project to create housing space for about 20,000 was initiated here in 2001. As of 2020, Kalbach-Riedberg has a population of 22,170.

Bonames is a quarter of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It is part of the Ortsbezirk Nord-Ost. The name comes from the Latin phrase "bona mansio" (literally: good harborage) which has its roots in the time of the Roman rule.

The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station and part of the Main–Weser Railway. The station was called Bonames until 1996.

The Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS) is a private-public institution for basic theoretical research in various areas of science focusing on interdisciplinary research. It is located in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, at its own home at the Frankfurt-Riedberg campus of the Goethe University. It was founded in 2003. The Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies as a superstructure for basic research, brings together theorists from the disciplines of biology, chemistry, neuroscience, physics, mathematics and computer science in a common organizational and intellectual framework. It is an ambitious independent scientific institution while at the same time bundling research activities at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University of Frankfurt am Main and neighboring research centers, such as the Center for Scientific Computing, the Center for Membrane Proteomics, the Center for Biomolecular Resonance, the Stern-Gerlach-Centre, the Gesellschaft für Schwerionenforschung (GSI) in Darmstadt, the Max Planck Institute of Biophysics, the Max Planck Institute of Brain Research, and the Max Planck Institute of Polymer Research in Mainz. Professor Enrico Schleiff was chairman of the board of directors from 2018 to 2020, when he was succeeded by Volker Lindenstruth. Founding directors are Professor Walter Greiner and Wolf Singer. Scientists from FIAS and from Goethe University join forces to educate graduate students in the Frankfurt International Graduate School for Science (FIGSS).
