St Agnes (Standard Written Form: Breanek) is a civil parish and a large village on the north coast of Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village is about five miles (8 km) north of Redruth and ten miles (16 km) southwest of Newquay. An electoral ward exists stretching as far south as Blackwater. The population at the 2011 census was 7,565.The village of St Agnes, a popular coastal tourist spot, lies on a main road between Redruth and Perranporth. It was a prehistoric and modern centre for mining of copper, tin and arsenic until the 1920s. Local industry has also included farming, fishing and quarrying, and more recently tourism. The St Agnes district has a heritage of industrial archaeology and much of the landscape is of considerable geological interest. There are also stone-age remains in the parish. The manor of Tywarnhaile was one of the 17 Antiqua maneria of the Duchy of Cornwall.

It is from the Cornish for far moor, goon + pell.Goonbell is located east of the now defunct St Agnes railway station, a stop on the Truro and Newquay Railway. Goonbell itself had a halt on the same line.

St Agnes Lifeboat Station was opened in 1968 and is based in St Agnes, Cornwall, South West England. It is operated by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).For a long time, the station's lifeboats were sponsored by BBC TV's Blue Peter programme, mostly being named Blue Peter IV.In 1978, and again in 2005, the Duke of Kent visited the station in his role as president of the RNLI.The station has always been an inshore lifeboat station, and until October 2015 operated a D-class lifeboat called Blue Peter IV. The current boat, XKalibur (D-787), was funded by The Jaguar Enthusiasts Club and donations from the local and wider community.

Barkla Shop is a small hamlet in mid Cornwall, England, United Kingdom half-a-mile east of St Agnes. It is in the civil parish of Perranzabuloe. Barkla Shop, located on the road between Perranporth and St Agnes, is named after a blacksmith's shop. When the railway was built rock was brought from the Wheal Liberty quarries by horses, and the blacksmith's shop was important to properly maintain the horses. There was also a carpenter's shop. Both shops are no longer there.The Mithian post office is located in Barkla.The Glen Carne Housing and Support organisation has a location in Barkla Shop, for long term housing while homeless men gain training and education, such as in Information Technology or horticulture.

Banns is a hamlet in west Cornwall, England, United Kingdom situated between Mount Hawke and Porthtowan at grid reference SW 710 480 in the civil parish of St Agnes. The South West Coast Path is 2 km (1.2 mi) to the west of the hamlet. Banns is included in the Mount Hawke and Portreath division of Cornwall Council. There is another place called Banns in the civil parish of St Buryan.

The Cornish Parachute Centre is a BPA affiliated parachuting centre and skydiving drop zone at St Agnes, Cornwall. The centre opened in 2006 operating out of Perranporth Airfield. The centre provides student training in the Ram Air Progression System, Accelerated Freefall and Tandem skydiving.
