Lockridge is a suburb of Perth, in the Bassendean division of Western Australia, and the City of Swan local government area. Land was first granted in the area to Edward Hamersley in 1837. Its name is derived from that of Lockeridge House, a property built by his son, Samuel Hamersley, in 1874. Part of what is now Lockridge, which became the Pyrton Estate, was bought by the Western Australian government during the Soldier settlement scheme in the 1920s. In 1969, the State Housing Commission purchased 240 acres (97 ha) to begin residential development in the area. An urban renewal project was undertaken in the late 1990s.At the 2016 Australian census the suburb had a population of 3,467.Local amenities include Rosher Park, Kiara College, Lockridge Primary School, and the Alice Daveron Community Centre. The Swan Valley Nyungah Community was in the area.

Caversham Wildlife Park is a wildlife park currently located in Whiteman Park in Western Australia. It is home to several Australian animals including kangaroos, koalas, possums, wallabies, wombats and Tasmanian devils.It was originally located in the locality of Caversham. The Park was bought by a couple, David and Pat, in 1988 and covered 5 acres of land. It was later doubled in size when the couple bought the adjoining property and increased the number of animals.It shifted into Whiteman Park in 2003.

The station will be located opposite Youle-Dean Road, near the main entrance to the park. Services to Bayswater and Ellenbrook will be provided by Transperth Trains. Whiteman Park station is projected to have 3,795 passengers per day in 2031. The projected journey time to Perth is 25 minutes, and will be a 2 zone fare.

The suburb is part of the City of Swan's Urban Growth Corridor and is bounded by Lord Street, Harrow Street, Malvern Street, Reid Highway and the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline. The suburb is located in the Swan Valley Ward of the City of Swan.
