Egå Engsø

Torsøvej station is a railway station serving the district of Risskov in the northern part of the city of Aarhus in Jutland, Denmark. The station is located on the Grenaa railway line between Aarhus and Grenaa. Since 2019, the station has been served by the Aarhus light rail system, a tram-train network combining tram lines in the city of Aarhus with operation on railway lines in the surrounding countryside.

Ellevang Church (Danish: Ellevang Kirke) is a church in Aarhus, Denmark. The church is situated in the northern Risskov neighbourhood on the street Jellebakken. Ellevang Church is a parish church, and the only church in Ellevang Parish, under the Diocese of Aarhus and within the Church of Denmark, the Danish state church. The church serves some 10.000 parishioners in Ellevang Parish and holds weekly sermons along with weddings, burials and baptisms.The history of Ellevang Church stems from the population growth in Vejlby Parish during the 1960s. The parish had grown to some 15.000 inhabitants so it had become necessary to build a new church relieve the existing ones in Vejlby Parish and Vejl-Risskov Parish. Vejlby Parish had been divided in 1940 and Risskov Parish with Risskov Church, inaugurated in 1934, had been created. Vejlby Parish sought permission from the government to construct a new church in the north of Vejlby which was granted in 1973 on the condition that the new parish borders were drawn exclusively within Vejlby Parish. The new parish became Ellevang Parish which today has some 10.000 parishioners.Construction of the church was initiated on 21 September 1973 and includes a few bricks from the 800 year old Vejlby Church as a symbol of the close connection to it. The church was completed and inaugurated on 1 December 1974 by the bishop of the time, Henning Høirup. The name of the parish and church was selected by the parishioners by popular vote as a reference to a medieval name of the area. The new parish shared the pastorate with Vejlby church until 1974 when the parish had grown to almost 6000 parishioners and the church got its own priest. Ellevang Church does not have its own cemetery and still shares the Vejlby Church cemetery.

Lystrup station is a railway station serving the railway town and suburb of Lystrup north of the city of Aarhus in Jutland, Denmark.The station is located on the Grenaa railway line between Aarhus and Grenaa. It opened in 1877 with the opening of the Aarhus-Ryomgård section of the railway line. Nye is a developing and upcoming satellite town to Aarhus located in Elev Parish and in Aarhus Municipality under the Central Denmark Region. The town is situated 10 kilometers from the center of Aarhus and extends northward from the village of Elev and two kilometers eastward from Lystrup. Nye houses Nye light rail station, which connects the city with Aarhus, Djursland, and surrounding towns. Nye is a city development project where the first phase is under construction. The first phase consists of approximately 650 homes, institutions, and grocery stores. Construction began in 2016, while the first residents moved in in 2018.When Nye is fully developed, the district will house up to 15,000-17,000 inhabitants and stretch to Egå Engsø and Djurslandsmotorvejen to the south, which connects with E45.The development of Nye takes place in collaboration between Aarhus Municipality, Aarhus Vand, and Tækker Group.In 2022, Nye was awarded the City Planning Prize for visionary and nature-based urban development.

Lystrup is a suburb to Aarhus, Denmark. It is located 10 km north of Aarhus city centre, west of Egå and the Bay of Aarhus. It had a population of 10,213 (1 January 2023), and is the second most populous urban area of Aarhus Municipality. Locally, the town is known by its unfavourable nickname "Gun City", which it was labelled during the 1990s, where the town saw a rise in shootings due to housing a biker chapter during Great Nordic Biker War.

Vejlby Church (Danish: Vejlby Kirke) is a church located in Vejlby Parish in Aarhus, Denmark. The church is situated 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) north of Aarhus city centre, west of Risskov and the Bay of Aarhus, on the morainal hills of the Egå valley, with a view of Kalø Vig and Helgenæs. It is a parish church belonging to the Church of Denmark. The parish has a population of 7,148 (2015).

Mollerup Skov (Mollerup Forest) is a 97 hectare relatively new forest situated in the northern outskirts of the city of Aarhus, Denmark. In the neighbourhood of Vejlby and Skejby between Skejbyvej, Langengevej and Skejby Nordlandsvej to be precise. Mollerup Skov is part of the New Forests of Aarhus.

Risskov Gymnasium is a school of secondary education and a Danish gymnasium in Aarhus, Denmark. The school is a financially independent self-owning educational institution under the Danish state. The school offers the 3 year matriculation examination (STX) programme within four main branches: natural sciences, political sciences, language and art.The school has approximately 800 students enlisted ranging from 15 to 19 years old with 10 new classes beginning every year. The student body is divided between 30 classes divided in Freshman, Junior and Senior year.

Risskov Skole is a school in Risskov in the north of Aarhus, Denmark. In the early 1900s, Vejlby, Stationsbyen (now called Stationsgade) and Vejlby Krat expanded. Therefore, a decision was made to build a new school on the field between the towns. The school was designed by M. B. Fritz and the inauguration took place on 8 April 1927. After the Second World War the whole area became established and the school grew and, at one point, had over 1,200 students. Risskov School has been renovated many times over the years, the latest in 2005. Today the school has around 800 students.

Vejlby is a north-eastern neighbourhood of Aarhus in Denmark. It is located 5km from the city centre and is administratively part of the district of Risskov. The neighbourhood of Vejlby was administratively merged with Risskov at the end of the 20th century and as a consequence, the district is often seen referred to as Vejlby-Risskov nowadays. There are several other places named Vejlby in Denmark, like the small village in the vicinity of Grenå on Mols, featured in the acclaimed novella "The Rector of Veilbye" by Steen Steensen Blicher. Once a village and a suburb, Vejlby has now completely merged with the city of Aarhus, but can still present areas characterised by the old village around the old church and graveyard. Modern buildings of note, are the shopping mall of Veri Center, the dormitory of Børglum Kollegiet with its notable architecture, a nursing and retirement centre, the large sports complex of Vejlby-Risskov Idrætscenter, the large residential areas of Veriparken, Næringen & Nyringen and Kantorparken. Important educational buildings comprise the Risskov Gymnasium (STX) and Handelsgymnasiet Vejlby (HHX). The only notable green area in Vejlby is Mollerup Skov.

Bakken Bears is a Danish professional basketball club based in Aarhus. The club plays in the Basketligaen, the top tier basketball league in Denmark. Founded in 1953, the club has won the Basketligaen 20 times and holds the record for the most championships and has won 11 Danish Cups. Along with their domestic play, the club is a regular in European competitions. The Bears are a three-time semifinalist of the FIBA Europe Cup.

Vejlby-Risskov Idrætscenter ("Vejlby-Risskov Sports Centre") is a sports complex located in Aarhus, Denmark. It is the largest of its kind in East Jutland. The complex is situated in the district of Vejlby-Risskov in the northern part of Aarhus. Its central parts consist of Vejlby Stadium, home ground of association football club VSK Aarhus, and Vejlby-Risskov Hallen, the home of basketball team Bakken Bears.
