The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is a not for profit 501(c)3 organization located on the east side of Lake Fayetteville in Fayetteville, Arkansas, United States. The 44-acre (16 ha) site is located at the border between Fayetteville and Springdale on Arkansas Highway 265 (Crossover Road). The garden consists of 6 cultivated acres (2.4 ha) featuring 12 display gardens and the state's only Butterfly House where four seasons of flora and fauna thrive. The BGO is a member-supported garden dedicated to education and environmental awareness. The garden is also a community destination for celebrations and unique nature experiences. The garden offers events throughout the year, including the annual Greening of the Garden Gala, Firefly Fling and Chefs in the Garden. Additionally, the garden hosts students from across the region for interactive field trips and offers educational programs and classes for both children and adults.

The Hemingway House and Barn is a historic summer estate at 3310 Old Missouri Road in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The house is a two-story wood-frame gambrel-roofed structure, set in a landscape designed (as were the buildings) by Little Rock architect Charles L. Thompson. The house and barn were built for Elwin Hemingway, a local lawyer. The barn, located just southwest of the house, is believed to be the only architect-designed structure of its type in the state.The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Johnson Switch Building is a historic commercial building in 3201 Main Street in Johnson, Arkansas, USA. Built in 1904, it is a single-story structure with a pressed-metal facade designed to resemble brickwork, and a gable roof obscured by a stepped parapet. Named for a nearby railroad switch, it is the oldest surviving commercial building in the small community's downtown area.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

It is located in front of Washington Regional Medical Center on North Hills Blvd. The statue was removed from the National Register of Historic Places in 2012 when it was improperly moved to its new location, but was later relisted.

The Routh-Bailey House is a historic house on Old Wire Road in Fayetteville, Arkansas. It is a two-story brick I-house with Greek Revival styling. Completed about 1850, it is rare within the state as a surviving antebellum brick farmhouse. It was built by Benjamin Routh on land granted to him in 1848 by President Zachary Taylor. When it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989 it was described as being in deteriorated condition. It is located east of Arkansas Highway 265 (from which it may be visible), northwest of a north-to-east bend in Old Wire Road.

Early settlers took advantage of these natural features and formed an economy based on mining lime, the Johnson Mill and trout. Although a post office was opened in the community in 1887, Johnson did not incorporate until it required the development of a city government to provide utility services in 1961. Located between Fayetteville and Springdale in the heart of the rapidly growing Northwest Arkansas metropolitan statistical area, Johnson has been experiencing a population and building boom in recent years, as indicated by a 46% growth in population between the 2000 and 2010 censuses.
