Symonds Street

The New Zealand Wars Memorial in Auckland commemorates imperial and Māori troops during the New Zealand Wars who were allied with British forces. The statue was commissioned by the Victoria League and sculpted by Thomas Eyre Macklin. The statue has been frequently subject to protests since its opening in 1920.

The Auckland Business Chamber (known as the Auckland Chamber of Commerce until 2018), is a New Zealand business network representing the interests of businesses in the Auckland region. It is a non-governmental organisation.

The Elam School of Fine Arts, founded by John Edward Elam, is part of the Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries at the University of Auckland. Students study degrees in fine art with an emphasis on a multidisciplinary approach. The school is located across three buildings, the Mondrian building, Building 431 (or the "Main" fine arts building), and Elam B, which includes the studios for postgraduate and doctoral students on Princes Street, in central Auckland, New Zealand.

Auckland University of Technology (abbr. AUT; Māori: Te Wānanga Aronui o Tāmaki Makau Rau) is a university in New Zealand, formed on 1 January 2000 when a former technical college (originally established in 1895) was granted university status. AUT is New Zealand's third largest university in terms of total student enrolment, with approximately 29,100 students enrolled across three campuses in Auckland. It has five faculties, and an additional three specialist locations: AUT Millennium, Warkworth Radio Astronomical Observatory and AUT Centre for Refugee Education.AUT enrolled more than 29,000 students in 2018,: 16  including 4,194 international students from 94 countries: 20  and 2,417 postgraduate students.: 19  AUT's student population is diverse with a range of ethnic backgrounds including New Zealand European, Asian, Māori and Pasifika.: 20  Students also represent a wide age range with 22% being aged 25–39 years and 10% being 40 or older.: 20 AUT employed 2,474 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff in 2016, including both professional and academic.: 23 Data suggests that 86% of AUT's graduates are employed full-time within nine months of graduating.: 35  In the 2019 World University Rankings, AUT was ranked as 301–350.

Grafton Gully is a deep (about 50 m) and very wide (about 100 m) gully running northwards towards the sea through the volcanic hills of the Auckland volcanic field in New Zealand. It divides the CBD from the suburbs of Grafton and Parnell in the east.

St Paul's Church is a historic church in the CBD of Auckland, New Zealand, located on Symonds Street near the University of Auckland and Auckland University of Technology. It is the longest established church in the city and has one of the largest Anglican congregations in Australasia.The St Paul's foundation stone was laid by Governor William Hobson on 28 July 1841 and the first service was held on 7 May 1843. St Paul's also served as Auckland's Cathedral for over 40 years. The third and current building was formally consecrated by Bishop William Cowie on 1 November 1895, and is now registered as a Category 1 Historic Place.

The AUT Law School is a school of Auckland University of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand. The law school is a part of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law and is one of three schools in the faculty. It offers two undergraduate, and five postgraduate programs to students. Established in 2009, the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (LL.B(Hons.)) have been developed with consultation of external key partners in legal education. The Law School also produces a newsletter AUTLaw for interested parties.

Symonds St Public Conveniences and Former Tram Shelter is a category 2 historic place in Auckland New Zealand, and included the first standalone women's public toilets in Auckland.

Grafton Bridge is a road bridge spanning Grafton Gully in Auckland, New Zealand. Built of reinforced concrete in 1910, it connects the Auckland CBD and Karangahape Road with Grafton. It spans about 97.6 metres (320 feet), rises 25.6 metres (84 feet) above the abutments to a height of around 43 metres (142 feet) over the gully. When the bridge was constructed, it contained the largest reinforced concrete arch in the world.The bridge is listed by Heritage New Zealand and on the IPENZ Engineering Heritage Register. In a 2006 poll of 600 alumni of the University of Auckland School of Engineering, the bridge was third in the list of New Zealand engineering achievements, after Manapouri Power Station and Black Magic. Since 2009 the bridge has formed a core part of the Central Connector public transport route between the CBD and Newmarket, and is closed to private vehicles during the day.

ACG Senior College was a specialist, pre-university high school and part of ACG Education (formerly known as Academic Colleges Group) New Zealand. Previously located in the learning quarter of central Auckland, opposite the Central Library and near AUT and the University of Auckland. In December 2018, Senior College merged with ACG Parnell College at the newly-constructed Senior Campus in Newmarket.

UP International College Auckland is a private school in Auckland, New Zealand, which provides pathways to tertiary study for international students. It has premises in Auckland City, in the central business district. The school has been restructured since the 2005 ERO review as part of an endeavour to provide better tuition for international students.
