Arrondissement of Bonneville

The canton of Bonneville is an administrative division of the Haute-Savoie department, southeastern France. Its borders were modified at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Bonneville.It consists of the following communes:

Saint-Pierre-en-Faucigny (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ pjɛʁ ɑ̃ fosiɲi]) is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in Eastern France. It is located in the historical province of Faucigny in Savoy hence its name. The town had 6,389 inhabitants in 2016. It was born from the fusion in 1965 of the communes of Passeirier, Saint-Maurice-de-Rumilly and Saint-Pierre-de-Rumilly. Saint-Pierre-en-Faucigny is situated between Bonneville just to the east and La Roche-sur-Foron to the west.

Le Môle (French pronunciation: [lə mol]) is a mountain of the Chablais Alps in the Haute-Savoie department of France which dominates the area around the town of Bonneville. The communes of Ayze, La Tour, Saint-Jean-de-Tholome, Marignier, Saint-Jeoire-en-Faucigny, Viuz-en-Sallaz, Peillonnex, and Faucigny encircle it. It rises to 1,863 metres and affords an excellent 360-degree view of the surrounding region. Though a small mountain by Alpine standards, it is of great geographic importance as it divides the vallée de l'Arve to the south and the west from the vallée du Giffre to the north and southeast, and dominates the southern entrance to the Geneva basin. Mary Shelley, in her 1818 novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, quotes Le Môle as being seen by Victor Frankenstein from Geneva, where he was born and lived before being a student in Germany.

Faucigny (French pronunciation: [fosiɲi]; Arpitan: Feûfnyi) is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. Historically, Faucigny was a region in Savoy which included the area of the modern département of Haute Savoie and the municipalities of Chamonix, Argentière, and Les Houches.
