The Jan van Eyckplein (English: Jan van Eyck Square) is a square in Bruges, West Flanders, Belgium. The square is named for noted Northern Renaissance painter Jan van Eyck. It is located at the intersection of the Academiestraat, the Spiegelrei and the Spanjaardstraat.

Sint-Leocollege was a Catholic high school and elementary school in Bruges, Belgium. Sint-Leocollege was established in 1890 as a private boys' school. In 1916, it was transformed into a public school and in 1993, girls were first allowed to take classes.

Choco-Story, the Chocolate Museum in Bruges, Belgium, is located in the sixteenth-century "Huis de Crone" building on Sint-Jansplein (at the intersection of Wijnzakstraat and Sint-Jansstraat) in central Bruges. This building was originally the home of a wine tavern. It later housed a bakery and, most recently, a furniture making shop. Choco-Story was opened by Eddy Van Belle and his son, Cédric. The two are also the owners of Belcolade, a family-owned chocolate business. Museum visitors can watch chocolate being made.Аdditionally, a section of the museum is dedicated to the health benefits of chocolate.

The St. Walburga Church is a 17th-century Roman-Catholic church in Bruges built by the Jesuits in a Baroque style. It is now a parish church and contains many valuable art objects.

Located on the Burg, one of the main squares in the city, it was the largest church in Bruges. The cathedral was destroyed in 1799 in the wake of the dissolution of the Diocese of Bruges during the aftermath of the French Revolution.

The Brugse Vrije was a castellany in the county of Flanders, often called in English "the Franc of Bruges". It included the area around Bruges, and was bordered by the North Sea, the Westerschelde and the Yser river. The city of Bruges was separated from the castellany in 1127. Since then the city and the Vrije were considered as separate customary law areas. The Brugse Vrije was a rich agricultural region. It had its own burgrave, who was seated at the Burg, a square in Bruges, and became part of the Four Members of Flanders at the end of the 14th century, together with the three major cities of Ghent, Bruges and Ypres. The Brugse Vrije sat in the meetings of the States of Flanders.
