Phoenix United Mine is a disused 19th century copper and tin mine in Cornwall, England, UK. Heavy metals left over in the soil from the mining operations have allowed mosses and lichens to flourish, and today the site is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), noted for its biological characteristics. All of the land designated as Phoenix United Mine SSSI is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall.

The Darley Oak is a Pedunculate oak tree (Quercus robur) which grows near Darleyford in the parish of Linkinhorne on the edge of Bodmin Moor, Cornwall, England, UK. This ancient tree is thought to be at least 1,000 years old, and a considerable number of legends take it as their core. Folk tradition attributes healing properties to the tree, and it is said that any wish made to it will eventually come true. Its acorns are also used as amulets, and were once used by pregnant women during pregnancy, to bring them luck. It was chosen one of the 50 Great British Trees by The Tree Council in 2002.

Sharptor is a hamlet west of Henwood in the civil parish of Linkinhorne in east Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is named after Sharp Tor on Bodmin Moor. Sharptor is close to Minions to the south, Kingbeare in the north and Darleyford to the east. Sharptor is around 280 metres (920 ft) above sea level. Caradon Hill, standing at 371 metres (1,217 ft) high, on which there is a TV transmission mast on the summit is visible from Sharptor looking south. Kit Hill standing at 334 metres (1,096 ft), which is topped with the stack of South Kit Hill mine, is visible due east from Sharptor. On a clear day, east and just to the right of Kill Hill, Dartmoor can be seen.

North Darley (Cornish: Dowr Legh, meaning rock slab river) is a hamlet in Cornwall, England. It is two miles south of North Hill on the B3254 road from Launceston to Liskeard.

Stowe's Hill is an elongated hill, 381 metres (1,250 ft) high, located on the eastern edge of Bodmin Moor in the county of Cornwall, England. Stowe's Hill is a prominent granite ridge located about 1500 metres north of Minions, the highest village in Cornwall. It is dominated by Stowe's Pound, a huge tor enclosure comprising two massive stone-walls. The smaller enclosure surrounds the tors at the southern end of the hill; the larger one encircles the rest of the ridge. At the southern end is a large, disused quarry, but the hill is best known as the site of the Cheesewring, the extraordinary granite formation that gave the quarry its name. Inside Stowe's Pound are two Bronze Age cairns, a stone round house and over 100 house platforms. The site is thought to be Neolithic or Bronze Age and connected with other settlements and ritual monuments in the vicinity.

The Cheesewring (Cornish: Keuswask) is a granite tor in Cornwall, England, situated on the eastern flank of Bodmin Moor on Stowe's Hill in the parish of Linkinhorne approximately one mile northwest of the village of Minions and four miles (6 km) north of Liskeard. It is a natural geological formation, a rock outcrop of granite slabs formed by weathering. The name derives from the resemblance of the piled slabs to a stack of "cheeses" in a traditional cider press. Wilkie Collins described the Cheesewring in 1861 in his book Rambles Beyond Railways: If a man dreams of a great pile of stones in a nightmare, he would dream of such a pile as the Cheesewring. All the heaviest and largest of the seven thick slabs of which it is composed are at the top; all the lightest and smallest at the bottom. It rises perpendicularly to a height of thirty-two feet, without lateral support of any kind. The fifth and sixth rocks are of immense size and thickness, and overhang fearfully all round the four lower rocks which support them. All are perfectly irregular; the projections of one do not fit into the interstices of another; they are heaped up loosely in their extraordinary top-heavy form on slanting ground, half way down a steep hill. Located adjacent to the Cheesewring Quarry (which supplied the granite cladding for the structure of Tower Bridge, London) and surrounded by other granite formations, this landmark was threatened with destruction in the late nineteenth century by the proximity of blasting operations, but was saved as a result of local activism.

Rillaton Barrow (Cornish: Krug Reslegh) is a Bronze Age round barrow in Cornwall, UK. The site is on the eastern flank of Bodmin Moor in the parish of Linkinhorne about four miles (6 km) north of Liskeard. Rillaton Barrow was excavated in 1837 and found to contain a centrally-placed inhumation beneath the 25m wide barrow. The burial had been placed in a stone cist measuring 2m by almost 1m. Human remains were found along with grave goods including the Rillaton Gold Cup, a bronze dagger, beads, pottery, glass and other items.

Middlewood is a small village in the parish of North Hill, Cornwall, England, UK. Middlewood is in the valley of the River Lynher and on the B3254 road between Launceston and Liskeard. There was formerly a Bible Christian chapel at Middlewood.

Botternell is a hamlet in the parish of North Hill, east Cornwall in the United Kingdom. The name means "Dornel's dwelling". Boturnell, also in Cornwall, has the same meaning. The earliest date for the village of Botternell is around the year.1160. By 1650, it consisted of two separate villages - higher and lower Bourtnell, (spelling varies). By 1840, Botternel was no longer classified as a village. Today, Botternel consists of a farm of the same name and a small hamlet of five houses on the site. There is a bus stop in the hamlet.

Upton Cross and Upton are hamlets a quarter of a mile apart in east Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. Upton is situated at grid reference SX 279 724 north of Upton Cross 5 miles (8 kilometres) northwest of Callington. They are on the northeast side of Caradon Hill on the B3254 Liskeard to Launceston road. St Paul's Church at Upton Cross is a mission church built in this corner of the parish of Linkinhorne in 1887 to serve the needs of the local mining community. The area is served by Upton Cross Academy, a primary school and pre-school. The school is part of Kernow Learning, a multi academy trust of schools in Cornwall. A little further north are the hamlets of Darleyford and North Darley below Notter Tor and a remarkable tree, the Darley Oak. At Netherton Farm Yarg cheese was produced from 1984 to 2006 by Lynher Dairies. Cornish Blue, a cheese made by the Cornish Cheese Company at Upton Cross, was the winning cheese in the World Food Awards in December 2010. The Hurlers are a group of three stone circles some distance to the west.
