Carwynnen

Carwynnen Quoit (grid reference SW650372) is a dolmen belonging to the Neolithic period, at Carwynnen near Camborne in west Cornwall. It is also known as 'The Giant's Quoit', 'The Giant's Frying Pan', 'Pendarvis Quoit' and 'Pendarves Quoit'. It collapsed in 1966 and was re-erected in 2014.

Knave-Go-By (also known as Knave-go-bye or Knave Go By) is a village located on the outskirts of Camborne in the English county of Cornwall in the South West region of the United Kingdom. It is in the TR14 postcode area.Knave go by is sometimes erroneously depicted as being located in Dartmoor in the neighboring county of Devon, despite no place of that name ever having existed there. The village is featured as the backdrop to the 1951 book Knave-go-by: the adventures of Jacky Nameless. It also occasionally features in books such as Collection of Weird: Place Names on account of its unusual name.

Troon (Cornish: Trewoon) is a village in Cornwall, UK, 1+1⁄2 miles (2.5 kilometres) southeast of Camborne. The village lies at around 560 feet (170 m) above sea level. An electoral ward named Troon and Beacon covers the area north from Troon to the outskirts of Camborne. The population at the 2011 census was 5,410. There were once important copper and tin mines near Troon, including the Grenville Mines. Wheal Grenville began to be worked in the 1820s though it was not productive until the 1850s, at which time the South and East mines were worked independently. In 1906 these mines were united with South Condurrow to form the Grenville United Mines and continued until 1920. The mineral Condurrite is a compound mineral named after the Great Condurrow Mine at Troon.The King Edward Mine is still situated on the outskirts of the village on the Carn Brea Road. It has a museum and can still be visited. An inscribed altar stone found at Chapel Ia, Troon (now set in the altar of the parish church), and dated to the tenth or eleventh centuries, attests to the existence of a settlement then. The chapel of Saint Ia was recorded in 1429 and a holy well was nearby. The site was called Fenton-ear (i.e. the well of Ia). The stone is very similar to one now in the garden at Pendarves, used as the base for a sundial.There are two Cornish crosses at Pendarves; one was found in a ditch on the estate and then set up near the house. It has a crude crucifixus figure on the front and a Latin cross on the back. The other is a cross head found in the kitchen garden at Pendarves.

Boswyn is a hamlet in west Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, approximately one mile south of Troon. It is in the civil parish of Camborne.

Praze railway station was built to the south of the village of Praze-An-Beeble, Cornwall, England, at an elevation of 360 feet (110 m). It was an intermediate station on the single-track Helston Railway between Gwinear Road and Nancegollan, and was opened on 9 May 1887 when the line opened. The line closed on 5 October 1964 and since closure a house has been built on the site of the station and the girders and bridge deck that took the railway over the road have been removed, leaving just the brick abutments. The only other sign of a station near the village is the road name "Station Hill".

St Michael's Secondary School was a mixed Free school located in Camborne, Cornwall, England. It opened in 2012, has a Roman Catholic ethos and caters for students aged 11–16 years. Due to a lack of pupil numbers it was merged with Camborne Science and International Academy and closed in 2017.

Barripper is a village in west Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, (grid reference SW633382) approximately one mile south-west of Camborne . The village has a public house named the St Michael's Mount Inn, so called as an outbuilding on that site was a resting place for druids and saints. Having landed at Godrevy, they followed a riverside trail from there through Roseworthy and Penponds to Barripper, where they were housed for the night, before continuing their pilgrimage to St Michaels Mount.

Camborne railway station serves the town of Camborne, Cornwall, England. The station is 313 miles (504 km) from London Paddington via Bristol Temple Meads. It is located on Trevu Road in the town, adjacent to a level crossing and the Railway Hotel. It has been in use since 1843 and is currently managed by Great Western Railway. Services are provided by GWR and CrossCountry.
