The Queen's Hall was a concert hall in Langham Place, London, opened in 1893. Designed by the architect Thomas Knightley, it had room for an audience of about 2,500 people. It became London's principal concert venue. From 1895 until 1941, it was the home of the promenade concerts ("The Proms") founded by Robert Newman together with Henry Wood. The hall had drab decor and cramped seating but superb acoustics. It became known as the "musical centre of the [British] Empire", and several of the leading musicians and composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries performed there, including Claude Debussy, Edward Elgar, Maurice Ravel and Richard Strauss. In the 1930s, the hall became the main London base of two new orchestras, the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. These two ensembles raised the standards of orchestral playing in London to new heights, and the hall's resident orchestra, founded in 1893, was eclipsed and it disbanded in 1930. The new orchestras attracted another generation of musicians from Europe and the United States, including Serge Koussevitzky, Willem Mengelberg, Arturo Toscanini, Bruno Walter and Felix Weingartner. In 1941, during the Second World War, the building was destroyed by incendiary bombs in the London Blitz. Despite much lobbying for the hall to be rebuilt, the government decided against doing so. The main musical functions of the Queen's Hall were taken over by the Royal Albert Hall for the Proms, and the new Royal Festival Hall for the general concert season.

The London Radium Institute was a public health initiative set in motion by Edward VII in 1909 and initially financed by Ernest Cassel and Edward Guinness. The architect T. Phillips Figgis was commissioned to build premises at 1 & 3 Riding House Street, the first part of which was ready in 1911, with the second being completed in 1914. The premises are now a Grade II listed building.The institute applied the medical uses of radium, which originally were only external, with subsequent internal uses being developed. In its first year of operation, it was claimed that, of thirty-nine cases of cancer of the uterus treated, three patients were discharged as cured, and another nineteen were regarded as "improved".

St. George's Hall was a theatre located in Langham Place, off Regent Street in the West End of London. It was built in 1867 and closed in 1966. The hall could accommodate between 800 and 900 persons, or up to 1,500 persons including the galleries. The architect was John Taylor of Whitehall.The hall was known for three decades for its presentation of the German Reed Entertainments alongside other musical works and lectures. After 1895, it was used for vaudeville, drama, magic shows, as the headquarters of the London Academy of Music, and even as a skating rink. In 1933, it became a BBC broadcasting studio but was shut down after extensive damage from bombing in March 1943. The theatre was demolished in 1966, and the St Georges Hotel and Henry Wood House now stand on the site.

Breathing is a memorial sculpture situated on the roof of the Peel Wing of BBC Broadcasting House, in London. The sculpture commemorates journalists and associated staff who have been killed whilst carrying out their work. It consists of a 10-metre (32 ft) high glass and steel column, with a torch-like, inverted spire shape, decorated with words. It also features a poem by James Fenton. At night the sculpture gently glows, then at 10 pm every evening (coinciding with the broadcast of the BBC Ten O'Clock News) the memorial shines a beam of light into the sky for 30 minutes, which reaches up to 900 meters (3,000 feet). It was reported in 2012 that the BBC was not turning the sculpture's lights on as often as it should be.The memorial was officially unveiled on 16 June 2008 by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. The sculpture is by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa, working in collaboration with the Broadcasting House architect Sir Richard MacCormac and his team at MJP Architects, Modus Operandi public art consultants and the engineers Whitby Bird & Partners. It was commissioned and selected as a result of an international competition for the BBC's public art scheme. The shape of the sculpture is inspired by the spire of the adjoining All Souls Church, and the radio mast on the roof of Broadcasting House. The architecture critic Ellis Woodman, of Building Design magazine, called Breathing the "most misconceived public artwork in London since the Queen Mother's gates".

All Souls Church is a conservative evangelical Anglican church in central London, situated in Langham Place in Marylebone, at the north end of Regent Street. It was designed in Regency style by John Nash and consecrated in 1824. As it is directly opposite Broadcasting House, the BBC often broadcasts from the church. As well as the core church membership, many hundreds of visitors come to All Souls, bringing the average number of those coming through the doors for services on Sundays to around 2,500 every week. All Souls has an international congregation, with all ages represented.

BBC Radio London is a local radio station run by BBC, serving Greater London and its surrounding areas. The station broadcasts across the area and beyond on the 94.9 FM frequency and online. The station's output is generally similar to that of other BBC Local Radio stations and targets a broad, mainstream audience. While previous incarnations of the station offered a more diverse range of programmes for London's various ethnic, religious, social and cultural communities, specialist programming now remains in a smaller form and is mostly broadcast at weekends. According to RAJAR, the station has a weekly audience of 625,000 listeners and a 1.0% share as of December 2022.

The George is a grade II listed public house on the corner of Mortimer Street and Great Portland Street in the City of Westminster, London. According to Historic England, it has an Italianate façade from the 1860s and a more ornate frontage than typical of a pub of its age. The interior is also notable for its surviving ornate original features which include glasswork, panelling, and painted tiles depicting riders and dogs.On November 25, 2021, The George was reopened by JKS Restaurants in partnership with Dominic Jacobs and James Knappett after four years of closure and an extensive restoration.

Egton House in Langham Street in Central London was home to BBC Radio 1 for many years from 1985 until 1996. Radio 1 moved to Yalding House on Great Portland Street in 1996, and Egton House was demolished in 2003 to make way for the Egton Wing of BBC Broadcasting House, later renamed the John Peel Wing. Jo Whiley was the last presenter to broadcast from Egton House (12pm-2pm on Wednesday 9th October 1996).Egton House was also home to the BBC Gramophone Library, a collection of over one million records and CDs. The 78 rpm collection was held in the basement of The Langham which is across the road in Langham Place and has now reverted to being a luxury hotel.

A statue of George Orwell by the British sculptor Martin Jennings was unveiled on 7 November 2017 outside Broadcasting House, the headquarters of the BBC, in London.The wall behind the statue is inscribed with George Orwell's words "If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear", from an unused preface to Animal Farm. The head of BBC history, Robert Seatter, said of Orwell and the statue that "He reputedly based his notorious Room 101 from Nineteen Eighty-Four on a room he had worked in whilst at the BBC, but here he will stand in the fresh air reminding people of the value of journalism in holding authority to account".

St Paul's Church, for many years known as the Portland Chapel, was built in the eighteenth century on the site of the former Marylebone Basin reservoir in London. Today the site is occupied by the BBC and known as Brock House, originally the Philharmonic Hall.The building was constructed in 1766 or 1775–6 of brick with a stone steeple and consecrated in 1831. It was designed by Stiff Leadbetter for the Portland Estates. The Philharmonic Hall was built on the site of the church in 1907/08 to replace the St James's Hall in Regent Street which had been demolished in 1905.
