As of 2022, Dulles Town Center currently features traditional tenants Macy's, JCPenney, and Dick's Sporting Goods. It currently features retailers Banana Republic, American Eagle, Hollister, H&M, and Ann Taylor. It encompasses 1,400,000 square feet (130,000 m2) of GLA and is the sole enclosed shopping center in Loudoun County. The mall serves a wide geographic area, drawing customers from Loudoun, Fairfax, Clarke, and Frederick counties in Virginia, as well as Jefferson County, West Virginia.

Countryside is a census-designated place in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States. The population as of the 2010 census was 10,072. It is located about 27 miles (43 km) northwest of Washington and is bounded by the Potomac River to the north, and by Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) to the south. Located in eastern Loudoun County, it is about 9 miles (14 km) north of Washington Dulles International Airport. It is bordered by the community of Cascades to the east and by Dulles Town Center to the south, across Route 7.

It is a mixed-use development just south of Virginia State Route 7, 29 miles (47 km) northwest of Washington, D.C., and 7 miles (11 km) southeast of Leesburg. One Loudoun was developed since the 2010 census, so it was not recognized as a census-designated place until the 2020 census. The community has an Ashburn mailing address. As of the 2020 census, the population was 2,285.

Broad Run is a tributary of the Potomac River in Loudoun County, Virginia. The creek, located between Goose Creek and Sugarland Run, principally drains portions of eastern Loudoun County, as well as a small portion of western Fairfax County.The headwaters of the creek are located about 3 miles (4.8 km) northeast of Aldie. The creek flows eastward near Arcola and continues generally northeast to its mouth at the Potomac near the southern end of Seldon's Island to the north of Sterling and about 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Leesburg. The watershed of the creek is 67.5 mi2 (175 km2) in Loudoun and 23.8 mi2 (62 km2) in Fairfax.The majority of the run forms the border between the unincorporated areas of Ashburn and Sterling. The Broad Run Magisterial District of Loudoun and Broad Run High School derive their names from the waterway. The Broad Run Bridge and Tollhouse is a national listed historic site. The creek should not be confused with the nearby Broad Run (a tributary of the Occoquan River) that flows through Fauquier and Prince William Counties.

Dulles Town Center is a census-designated place (CDP) in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States. It is located about 7 miles (11 km) north of Washington Dulles International Airport. The CDP is the location of the Dulles Town Center shopping mall, for which it is named. The United States Postal Service considers Dulles Town Center to be a subsection of Dulles, which is itself a subsection of Sterling; none of these locations is an incorporated municipality. The population as of the 2010 United States Census was 4,601.

Warp Drive is a short street in Sterling, Virginia, United States. Originally named Steeplechase Drive, it is located in an industrial park off Atlantic Boulevard, and primarily serves as the address for Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems, an aerospace company. The street ends at a circle where an off-ramp from Virginia State Highway 28 joins from the opposite direction. In 2011, employees of Orbital Sciences—later acquired by Northrop—asked the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors to rename their street after the warp drive that allows ships in the Star Trek universe to travel faster than light. The supervisors voted unanimously to make it so (several of them using catchphrases associated with the franchise).

Selden Island is a 408-acre island in the Potomac River, located about 32 km (20 mi) WNW of Washington, DC. It is about 4 km long and 0.4–0.5 km wide (2.5 x 1/4–1/3 miles). Although it is located within Montgomery County, Maryland, the only road access is via a bridge connecting it to the Loudoun County, Virginia side of the river. Archaeological evidence indicates the island has been a site of human activity since the Early Woodland period, around 1000 BCE. A characteristic type of pottery known as Selden Island ware dates from this period. It is also the site of a significant Late Woodland period settlement known as the Walker Prehistoric Village, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.In 2002, following the diagnosis of two Loudoun County teenagers with malaria, mosquitoes from the island were found to carry the Plasmodium vivax malarial parasite.In 2004, Selden Island was purchased by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute as an addition to the Janelia Farm Research Campus. It was formerly leased as a sod farm.
