Teatre Principal (Barcelona)

ELISAVA is the first school of design, an internationally oriented educational and research institution affiliated with Pompeu Fabra University The school is situated in Barcelona and is home to around 2,200 students and more than 800 teachers. ELISAVA has been merged with Pompeu Fabra University since 1995. In 2000, ELISAVA won a National Innovation and Design Award. In 2013, the magazine Domus ranked it among the top design and architecture schools in Europe.

Plaça Reial (In Spanish Plaza Real, meaning "Royal Plaza") is a square in the Barri Gòtic of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It is close to La Rambla, and is a popular tourist attraction, especially at night. The plaza hosts many restaurants and some of the city's most famous nightclubs, including Sidecar, Jamboree, Karma and the historic and reinvented speakeasy cocktail bar Nou Pipa Club. The square is the site of the Hotel Roma Reial and is also known for its many outdoor venues. It is a popular meeting place during the summer, during the annual La Mercè festival in September when open-air concerts take place, and during other celebrations such as New Year's Eve. The original building on the site was the Capuchin convent of Santa Madrona, which was demolished in 1835. Plaça Reial was then designed by Francesc Daniel Molina i Casamajó later in the 19th century. The square is twinned with Plaza Garibaldi, in Mexico City. The square's lampposts were designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí.

Centre d'Art Santa Mònica (CASM), more commonly abbreviated as Arts Santa Mònica, is a public venue in Barcelona, (Catalonia) opened in 1988, for exhibiting contemporary art. It is located in the Raval side of Rambla de Santa Mònica (Ciutat Vella district). It hosts a number of exhibitions of contemporary Spanish and international artists every year. Entrance is free. The building that hosts CASM is a 1626 Renaissance convent that became a monument of national interest in 1984.

The Filmoteca de Catalunya is a film archive located in Catalunya, Spain, aiming at the preservation of film and the dissemination of audiovisual and film culture. The head office and public rooms (cinemas, exhibition rooms, library) are located in the Raval neighbourhood, in central Barcelona. The Centre de Conservació i Restauració (the institution's Center for Conservation and Restoration) is located in the Parc Audiovisual in Terrassa.

Drassanes is a Barcelona Metro station located underneath Portal de la Santa Madrona, just off La Rambla in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona. It is named after the nearby Drassanes Reials de Barcelona, the old shipyards that are now the home of the Museu Marítim de Barcelona. It is the closest station to the Port of Barcelona and one of the network's closest stations to the sea, and is served by TMB-operated Barcelona Metro line L3.The station was opened on 14 December 1968 as a prolongation on the line from Liceu once Fernando metro station was closed. Originally known as Atarazanas, it changed its name to Drassanes in 1982. Due to its proximity to the sea and low level, the station has suffered from flooding in the past. It was completely rebuilt in 2007 to make it more accessible by modernizing the platforms and installing elevators.Because of its proximity to sea level, the station is located close to the surface and has only a single level, containing two tracks served by two 90 metres (300 ft) long side platforms. The platforms are linked by a passage under the tracks, but each has its own separate access to the street. The Zona Universitària bound platform has access to Drassanes Avenue and Portal de la Santa Madrona, while the Trinitat Nova bound platform has access to the central promenade of La Rambla

Fernando, also called Ferran, is a former Barcelona metro station. The station site is located on line L3 between the existing stations of Liceu and Drassanes, and under the Rambla boulevard.The station opened in 1946 as the terminus of a short extension of L3 from Liceu station. It had a single track and 61-metre (200 ft) long platform, and was accessed by an entrance at the junction of Las Ramblas and Carrer de Ferran. The station was closed in 1968 to permit the extension of the line to Drassanes station.

Edifici Colón (also Torre Maritima) is an office skyscraper in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It has 28 floors and stands at a height of 110 metres (120 yd). It is located in the district of Ciutat Vella, Avinguda de les Drassanes. Built in 1970, it was the first skyscraper above 100 metres built in Barcelona.

The Liceu bombing attack, in which an anarchist threw two bombs from the balcony of Barcelona's Liceu opera house, killed 20 people on November 7, 1893. The bombing was in response to the 1893 execution of Paulí Pallàs following his assassination attempt on Catalonia Captain General Arsenio Martínez Campos. Santiago Salvador, Pallàs's friend, was arrested in January 1894. In reaction to the bombing, Valeriano Weyler was installed with the mandate of hunting anarchists and declared martial law. Hundreds of laborers were arrested and several confessed to the Liceu bombing after being tortured. Even after Salvador's arrest, laborers remained imprisoned and six were executed.

The Gran Teatre del Liceu (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈɡɾan teˈatɾə ðəl liˈsɛw], English: Great Theatre of the Lyceum), or Liceu in Catalan, is an opera house on La Rambla in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The Liceu opened on 4 April 1847. The adjacent Liceu metro station is named after the theatre.

Plaça de Jean Genet is a small, triangle-shaped square in Barcelona (the capital of Catalonia in Spain). It's located in the southern side of El Raval, by the port and Avinguda de les Drassanes and the Catalan Gothic buildings of the Royal Shipyard, in the district of Ciutat Vella. Its main feature is the functionalist high-rise which hosts the local Official School of Languages. It is named after French author Jean Genet who resided in the city for a time and whose novel The Thief's Journal takes place in the poverty-stricken alleys of Raval. Essayist Lluís Permanyer proposed the name in 1997.

Madame Petit was the most luxurious and probably the most famous brothel in the city of Barcelona. Its origins date back to the 1888 Barcelona Universal Exposition and it was at its peak around the time of World War I until the Spanish Civil War. It was located in the historic Barrio Chino area of Barcelona, at the entrance of Carrer Arc del Teatre, specifically at number 6.In the same street, Carrer Arc del Teatre, in the section to the corner of the Carrer Migdia (now Avinguda de les Drassanes), there were several brothels. The area was well known for it brothels and referred to as de quatre cantons.

Ictíneo I was a pioneering submarine constructed in Barcelona, Spain in 1858–1859 by engineer Narcís Monturiol.
