The Chapel of Rest, Brompton Cemetery, Brompton, Scarborough, in North Yorkshire, England is an early work by the ecclesiastical architect Temple Moore. It is a Grade II listed building.

Sawdon railway station was situated on the North Eastern Railway's Pickering to Seamer branch line in North Yorkshire, England. It served the village of Brompton-by-Sawdon and to a lesser extent Sawdon itself. The station was named Sawdon to distinguish it from an existing station called Brompton (on the Leeds Northern Railway), near Northallerton, also in North Yorkshire. The station opened to passenger traffic on 1 May 1882, and the last trains ran on 3 June 1950. Sawdon was furnished with one platform, which had the station building on the northern side of the running line, and a small goods yard beyond the station building with an east facing connection to the main railway line. The goods yard had a crane capable of lifting 1-tonne (1.1-ton), and was equipped to handle a variety of goods including live stock.The station has been restored completely, as holiday accommodation.

Ruston is a small village in the Scarborough district of North Yorkshire, England, forming part of the civil parish of Wykeham. The village is situated just off the A170 road, and approximately 5 miles (8 km) south-west from Scarborough.

Sawdon is a village in the civil parish of Brompton, in North Yorkshire, England, about 8 miles (13 km) west of Scarborough.The village lies 1.75 miles (3 km) north of Brompton, which is on the A170 road connecting Pickering with Scarborough. It lies at the northern edge of the Vale of Pickering with Hackness Forest and the North York Moors National Park directly to the north of the village.Sawdon was formerly a township in the parish of Brompton, in 1866 Sawdon became a separate civil parish, on 25 March 1886 the parish was abolished and merged with Brompton. In 1881 the parish had a population of 167. From 1974 to 2023 it was in the Scarborough district. Whilst the village is not mentioned specifically by name in the Domesday Book, its name is recorded as far back as 1290 as Saldene, which means Sallow Valley. However, the manor of Sawdon was included in the Domesday survey for the area in and around Brompton. No churches were built in the village, but in 1823, a Wesleyan chapel was erected on the main road through the settlement. This is now a private dwelling.From 2012 Sawdon Village Hall was selected as the site for fundraising events by the charity Astronomy Wise. These events see a large gathering of astronomers and visitors at the building throughout the year. Regular meetings usually take place on the second Friday of every month excluding the summer months.

It consists of a main street adjacent to the only pub; The Downe Arms. It lies around 7 miles (11 km) away from Scarborough and surrounding villages include: East Ayton, West Ayton, Snainton, Hutton Buscel, Brompton and Ruston. It has a cricket ground also which is hidden away in a small turning off the main road. To the north of the village is Wykeham Forest, which covers over 1,114 acres (451 ha).According to the 2011 UK census, Wykeham parish had a population of 280, a decrease on the 2001 UK census figure of 290. In 2015, North Yorkshire County Council estimated that population had remained static at 280.A nunnery was established at Wykeham between 1140 and 1160 that was located to the south east of the village. The Anglican church in the village is a grade II* listed building. St Helen's and All Saints Parish Church was built between 1853 and 1855 by William Butterfield. A primary school is tied to the church. Wykeham Church of England Primary School, which has a nominal capacity of 60 pupils, was rated Good by Ofsted in 2016.Charm Park, a Point-to-point racecourse is close by the village, as are the Wykeham Lakes.

Wykeham Priory was a nunnery in Wykeham, North Yorkshire, England. It was established between 1140 and 1160 and was destroyed by fire during the reign of Edward III.In the mid-18th century, Wykeham Abbey was built on the site of the former priory.

Weaverthorpe railway station was a minor railway station serving the village of Sherburn in North Yorkshire, England. Located on the York to Scarborough Line it was opened on 5 July 1845 by the York and North Midland Railway. It closed to passengers on 22 September 1930.

Potter Brompton is a small village in the English county of North Yorkshire, on the A64 road from Malton to Scarborough. The village is situated just a few hundred yards off the Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail and lies within the parish of Ganton. The population statistics for the village area included in those for the whole parish of Ganton.It was historically part of the East Riding of Yorkshire until 1974. The village was part of the Ryedale district between 1974 and 2023. It is now administered by North Yorkshire Council. Potter Brompton is mentioned in the Domesday Book as having 29 ploughlands, but no villagers. The land originally belonged to Earl Morcar, but after the Conquest, the land was forfeited to William the Conqueror.The village is well served by public transport; it has an hourly bus service through the day on the Yorkshire Coastliner route between Leeds, York, Malton and Scarborough.
