Eselsbach (Ette)

Tierbach is a river of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is the left headstream of the Ette (the Eselsbach is the right one).

Hertenstein Castle is a ruined spur castle approximately 900 metres (2,950 ft) southwest of the village of Billingsbach, part of the municipality of Blaufelden, in the district of Schwäbisch Hall in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

The Battle of Herbsthausen, also known as the Battle of Mergentheim, took place near Bad Mergentheim, in the modern German state of Baden-Württemberg. Fought on 5 May 1645, during the Thirty Years War, it featured a French army led by Turenne, defeated by a Bavarian force under Franz von Mercy. In February 1645, Mercy detached 5,000 of his veteran Bavarian cavalry to support the Imperial army in Bohemia, most of whom were lost in the defeat at Jankau on 6 March. Thereafter, he avoided battle until he had assembled enough troops, then surprised Turenne at Herbsthausen on 5 May. The inexperienced French infantry quickly disintegrated and suffered over 4,400 casualties, compared to Bavarian losses of 600. Despite his victory, Mercy was unable to gain a clear strategic advantage and was killed at Second Nördlingen in August. Although fighting continued, both sides accepted their inability to impose a military solution and stepped up the negotiations that ultimately concluded with the 1648 Peace of Westphalia.

Ludwigsruhe is a hamlet in Hohenlohe. It is a suburb of the town of Langenburg in the district of Schwäbisch Hall, located in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Until 11 August 1761, the place was called Lindenbronn. Prince Louis of Hohenlohe-Langenburg then changed the name of the hamlet to match the name of the lustschloss he had built there.

Mulfingen is a town in the district of Hohenlohe in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. Friedrich Wohnsiedler (1879–1958), a native of the town, emigrated to New Zealand around 1900 and became a notable wine-maker.

Schrozberg is a town in the district of Schwäbisch Hall, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is located 21 km (13 mi) west of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, and 31 km (19 mi) northeast of Schwäbisch Hall. Schrozburg Castle of the Lords of Schrozberg was built in the 12th century and destroyed in 1441 by the city of Rothenburg. Schrozberg was then possessed by the lords of Schrozberg, later jointly by the noble families Seldeneck, Adelsheim, the city of Rothenburg, the House of Hohenlohe und the barons of Berlichingen. A new castle outside the town was built in the early 16th century. By 1455, Albrecht of Hohenlohe had acquired the castle and lordship of Bartenstein near Schrozberg. The castle is still today the residence of the Prince of Hohenlohe-Bartenstein.

Blaufelden is a municipality in the district of Schwäbisch Hall in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. The settlement is first mentioned in a document from 1157. The Reformation was introduced to Blaufelden in 1526 and it has been Lutheran ever since.

Gerabronn (German pronunciation: [ɡeːʁaˈbʁɔn] (listen)) is a small town in the county of Schwäbisch Hall, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. In 2006 it had a population of about 4,547 and covered an area of 40.38 km2. Gerabronn is the home town of the two leading German politicians of the Green Party: Joschka Fischer and Rezzo Schlauch.
