Chiba College of Health Science (千葉県立衛生短期大学, Chiba kenritsu eisei tanki daigaku) was a Public junior college in Mihama-ku, Chiba, Japan, established in 1981. It was merged into Chiba Prefectural University of Health Sciences in 2009 and closed in March 2011.

Chiba Korean Primary and Junior High School (千葉朝鮮初中級学校 Chiba Chōsen Shochūkyūgakkō, Korean: 치바 조선 초중급학교) is a North Korea-aligned Korean international school in Hanamigawa-ku, Chiba, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, in the Tokyo metropolitan area. As of 2014, the principal is Kim Yu-sop. The school uses the Korean language as its language of instruction. The school operates under the authority of the Chongryon.

The Experimental Station for Landscape Plants (緑地植物実験所, Ryokuchi Shokubutsu Jikkensho), also called the Kemigawa Arboretum, is a research and plant-breeding arboretum operated by the University of Tokyo Faculty of Agriculture, and located at Hata-machi 1051, Hanamigawa-ku, Chiba, Chiba, Japan. The arboretum was established in 1965 as the Horticultural Experimental Station to collect and study garden and landscape plants, and to develop techniques for their cultivation, breeding, and use. In 1975 it evolved into the Experimental Station of Plants for Landscaping to reflect the importance of landscape plants in protecting the environment. In 1989 it received its present name. The arboretum covers 47,031 m², and contains about 350 species (500 varieties) of woody plants and flowers, with excellent collections of Camellia japonica (130 varieties), Camellia sasanqua (30 varieties), and flowering lotus (including 250 varieties of Nelumbo nucifera and Nelumbo lutea). The arboretum also contains other aquatic plant species, lawn grass varieties, and herbs, as well as a general arboretum, and two greenhouses.

Chiba Prefectural University of Health Sciences (千葉県立保健医療大学, Chiba Kenritsu Hoken Iryō Daigaku) is a public university in Mihama-ku, Chiba, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. It was established in 2009 by integrating Chiba College of Health Science (present-day Makuhari Campus, founded in 1981) with Chiba Prefectural College of Allied Medical Science (present-day Nitona Campus).

Mihama Ward (美浜区, Mihama-ku) is one of the six wards of the city of Chiba in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. As of April 2012, the ward had an estimated population of 149,314 and a population density of 7,060 persons per km². The total area was 21.16 km².

The Hanami River (花見川, Hanami-gawa) is a river in Yachiyo and Chiba, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. The river is 18.9 kilometers (11.7 mi) in length and has a drainage area of 94.5 square kilometers (36.5 sq mi). The Hanami is one part of the Inba Discharge Channel (印旛放水路, Inba Hōsuiro). The upper part of the drainage facility is designated as the Shin River. The lower part, the Hanami, ranges from the Ōwada Drainage Pump Station in Yachiyo City, and drains into Tokyo Bay in the Mihama Ward of Chiba City. The lower part of the river where the Hanami empties into Tokyo Bay is known as the Kemi River (検見川, Kemi-gawa). Numerous sluices have been built on the Hanami to protect the surrounding area from damage due to high tides and typhoons.
