Romeo Historic District

Romeo is a village in Macomb County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,596 at the 2010 census. The village is situated at the southeast corner of Bruce Township, with a portion extending south into Washington Township. Armada Township is adjacent to the east and Ray Township to the southeast. Romeo is located on the rural-urban fringe of the Detroit metropolitan area, and many of its residents commute to jobs closer to the city. Romeo is known for its Peach Festival, which takes place every year during Labor Day weekend. This event dates back to 1931 and includes a car show, floral parade, craft show, and many other events. Tillson Street in Romeo is known for its elaborate Halloween decorations. Thousands trick-or-treat Tillson Street every Halloween to see the homeowners' one-of-a-kind Halloween stages. On February 14 of each year, the village of Romeo offers a special dual postmark with the community of Juliette, Georgia. This tradition began in 1994, as a nod to the William Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet.

Romeo High School is located in northern Macomb County, Michigan approximately 30 miles north of the city of Detroit. It is a part of Romeo Community Schools.

The Macomb Orchard Trail is a 23.5 mile long rail trail in Macomb County, Michigan. It is built on the right-of-way of an early Michigan railroad, the Michigan Air Line Railway, later owned and operated by Canadian National Railway. The trail stretches from Richmond to Dequindre Road, where it connects to the Clinton River Trail.The Macomb Orchard Trail is owned and maintained by Macomb County.

Bruce Township is a civil township of Macomb County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the township population was 8,700. The largely rural township is home to the Ford Motor Company Proving Grounds, which sits on six square miles of land in the western-central part of the township.

Romeo State Airport (FAA LID: D98) is a public airport owned and operated by the State of Michigan located 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Romeo, Michigan, United States. The airport is uncontrolled and is used for general aviation purposes. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a local reliever airport facility.

Romeo Engineering and Technology Center is located in northern Macomb County, Michigan approximately 30 miles north of the city of Detroit. Romeo Engineering and Technology Center also known as RETC and is a satellite school of Romeo High School. The RETC was built and completed in 2003, originally the plan was to create a new separate school however funding failed so the decision was made to build a satellite school to reduce overcrowding at the main high school. The RETC has an area of 90,288 sq.ft., covers 77 acres, and cost $12,259,836 to build. The RETC offers Technology, advanced math and science programs, as well as most career programs. Students who wish to attend the RETC are bussed from the High School or drive to the school. Recently the school has installed solar panels across the roof, the project was completed in and turned on in December 2010. The solar panels were paid for by grants and can produce upwards of 19.8 Kilowatts (DC).

Washington Charter Township, located within Metro Detroit, is a charter township of Macomb County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 25,139 at the 2010 census. Washington Township is bordered by the village of Romeo as well as Ray Township, Shelby Township, and Oakland Township in Oakland County and is 18 miles north of Detroit.

Wolcott Mill Metropark is a Huron-Clinton Metropark located in rural Ray Township, Michigan. The northern branch of the Clinton River is a fixture of the park as it bisects the entirety of the park.

The Loren Andrus Octagon House, also known as the Washington Octagon House, is a historic octagon house located at 57500 Van Dyke Avenue just north of 26 Mile Road in Washington Township, Macomb County, Michigan. On September 3, 1971, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The Wolcott Mill is a grist and feed mill located in Ray Township, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Stony Creek Metropark is a Huron-Clinton Metropark located in southeast Michigan in the outskirts of metro Detroit. The park is predominantly in Washington Township and Oakland Township, with a small portion in Shelby Township. The park covers 4,461 acres (18.05 km2) with Stony Creek Lake at its center.

Ray Township is a civil township of Macomb County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the township population was 3,780, which makes Ray Township the least populated township in Macomb County. Wolcott Mill Metropark, a 2,625 acres (10.62 km2) park is located entirely within the township. The park is home to the Wolcott Mill, built in 1847.
