Susono

Susono Station (すそのえき, Susono-eki) is a railway station in the city of Susono, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, operated by the Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central).

Shizuoka Prefectural Susono High School (静岡県立裾野高等学校) is a public high school in Susono, Shizuoka, Japan. This school is usually called 裾野高校 (susono-kōkō).

The Fuji Bamboo Garden (富士竹類植物園 Fuji Chikurui Shokubutsuen?) is Japan’s only botanical garden specializing in bamboo. Fuji Bamboo Garden is located in Nagaizumi, which is part of Japan's Shizuoka Prefecture (southwest of Tokyo). The garden is located at the base of Mount Fuji, from where the garden's name originated. The garden occupies over 2 acres of land. Fuji Bamboo Garden is said to be the world’s largest collection of bamboo, holding more than 450 varieties of bamboo from all around the world. The garden contains approximately 100,000 bamboo plants. The types of bamboo in the garden range from black bamboo to moso bamboo. The garden has benches to sit on, as well as bamboo sheds each holding a special type of bamboo. Fuji Bamboo Garden is not only a garden, but also has a museum full of bamboo art and history brought from all over the world, such as musical instruments from Indonesia, woven bamboo baskets from Africa, blankets made from bamboo, bamboo fishing gear and even furniture made from bamboo. The garden also offers a small gift shop.

Nagaizumi-Nameri Station (長泉なめり駅, Nagaizumi-Nameri-eki) is a railway station in the town of Nagaizumi, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, operated by the Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central).

As of 1 August 2019, the town had an estimated population of 43,568 in 18154 households and a population density of 1,600 persons per km². The total area of the town was 26.63 square kilometres (10.28 sq mi).

Shimo-Togari Station (下土狩駅, Shimo-Togari-eki) is a railway station in the town of Nagaizumi, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, operated by the Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central).

Mishima Station (三島駅, Mishima-eki) is a railway station in the city of Mishima, Shizuoka, Japan, operated by the Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central). It is also a union station with the Izuhakone Railway. The station was also a freight terminal of the Japan Freight Railway Company (JR Freight), although freight operations are now only on an occasional basis. Japanese writer Yukio Mishima was given his pen name from this station, since his editors were passing through on the way to a meeting with him. ('Yukio' came from the Japanese word for 'snow', which the editors saw on Mount Fuji from the train.)

Fukara Aqueduct (Japanese: 深良用水, Hepburn: Fukara yōsui) is an aqueduct that draws water from Lake Ashi, in Hakone, Kanagawa, westward to Susono, Shizuoka. Since its completion in 1670, Lake Ashi is emptied by this aqueduct, not by the Haya River. The water rights of Lake Ashi belong to Shizuoka Prefecture, not Kanagawa Prefecture where the lake is located. Fukara Aqueduct was constructed in 1666-1670 as a tunnel through Mount Hakone's outer rim to provide irrigation to Fukara Village (深良村, 35.2110°N 138.9455°E / 35.2110; 138.9455). The aqueduct becomes the Izumi River (泉川), where its water flows into the Daiba River (大場川), the Kise River (黄瀬川), and the Kano River, before emptying into Suruga Bay. In March 2020, the "Thanksgiving Festival of Fukara Aqueduct's 350th Anniversary" (ja:深良用水350感謝祭) was held in Susono City.
