Salomó

Salomó is a railway station owned by ADIF located in the town of Salomó, in the Tarragonès region. The station is on the Barcelona-Vilanova-Valls railway line and is served by trains on the R13 line of Rodalies de Catalunya, operated by Renfe Operadora. This station entered service in 1883 when the section constructed by the Companyia dels Ferrocarrils de Valls a Vilanova i Barcelona (VVB) between Calafell and Valls was opened, one year after the opening of the line between Vilanova i la Geltrú and Calafell. In 2016 it recorded an entry of 2,000 passengers.

Vilardida is a village in the Alt Camp, Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. The population in 2003 is indicated by Municat as 3 and also as 27 people. This confusion is probably because the village falls under the jurisdiction of two municipalities: Vila-rodona and Montferri. The probable population today is about 10 people and the village covers an area of about 10,000m2. The elevation is 285 m above sea level. It is situated at the "T" junction to Montferri on the main road C51 between El Vendrell and Valls and at 2.5 km from exit 11 of the motorway AP2 from Barcelona to Lleida. The name (which translated means "burnt village") was first cited in 1009 as Villa Ardidam because of the fires lit by the Bishops from Barcelona at that time. The small church, Saint Mary of Vilardida, was built in the 18th century, although many of the village's buildings date back to the 15th century. The village lies in wine growing area on the edge of a small fertile flood plain, 400m from the Gaià River. This river flows all year round down into a large reservoir in the three municipalities: Renau, Vilabella and El Catllar and then out into the Mediterranean Sea at Altafulla, near Tamarit castle.

Masllorenç (Catalan pronunciation: [ˌmazʎuˈɾɛns]) is a municipality in the comarca of the Baix Penedès[1] in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the slopes of the Miramar range (864 m). A local road links the municipality with El Pla de Santa Maria, and with the A-2 autopista and the T-200 road. Masllorenç became part of the Baix Penedès in the comarcal revision of 1990: previously it formed part of the Alt Camp.

Bonastre is a municipality in the comarca of the Baix Penedès in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the west of the comarca in the Quadrell range. Bonastre became part of the Baix Penedès in the comarcal revision of 1990: previously it formed part of the Tarragonès. In 1178, Bernat de Papiol, who was lord of the place, donated it to the Monastery of St Cugat. In 1382, King Pedro IV took possession of Bonastre for the crown although the monastery continued to govern the village until the 17th century. During the Trienio Liberal Bonastre supported the royalists. In 1822, the town was attacked by a party of militia and was left deserted as its inhabitants fled to the surrounding mountains. However, the militia were attacked by royalist troops when they left Bonastre and routed. The 19th-century parish church is dedicated to St Magdalene. It was built on the site of an ancient Romanesque temple which was destroyed in 1849. It consists of a single building covered by a cylindrical vault, with small interconnecting chapels at the side. The baptistry and sanctuary stand out. It was the work of a modernistic architect Josep Maria Jujol. Another notable building is a 19th-century house known as “can Fontanilles”. It has some interesting graphics on its façade, which include the arms of Bonastre and Catalonia The main festival at Bonastre takes place in July under the feast of St Magdalena. A local road links the village with Roda de Barà.

Nulles-Bràfim Station is a railway station located in the municipality of Nulles, in the Alt Camp region of Catalonia, Spain. The station is situated on the Barcelona–Vilanova–Valls railway line and is served by line R13 of the Rodalies de Catalunya regional rail system, operated by Renfe Operadora. The station was inaugurated in 1883 as part of the section between Calafell and Valls, built by the former Companyia dels Ferrocarrils de Valls a Vilanova i Barcelona (VVB). This section opened one year after the line between Vilanova i la Geltrú and Calafell. In 2016, the station registered an annual ridership of approximately 1,000 passengers.

The Roman quarry of El Mèdol was first excavated during the period of the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire. Its dimensions are over 200m wide and 10 to 40 deep. It was used to build the most important buildings of Tarraco (Colonia Iulia Urbs Triumphalis Tarraco, current Tarragona), capital of Hispania Citerior. At the centre remains a "witness column" (a column made of intact original rock) frequently found in Roman quarries. It is the largest of the six Roman quarries around Tarraco. It provided "Soldo" Miocene limestone with tones between white and pink, golden generally clear. This rock, although unsuitable for the most detailed Roman architecture of the city, served mainly the Roman building and medieval buildings of Tarragona, including the Cathedral of Santa Tecla. The quarry is very close to the Roman Via Augusta, a major imperial communication channel whose track follows the current national road 340 between Barcelona and Tarragona. This route was used to transport some 50,000 cubic meters of stone, mainly along the 6 km that separate the quarries of Tarraco. The quarry can be visited easily from the National Road 340 or from the AP-7, by La Mora. The quarry is included in the UNESCO World Heritage of the archaeological complex of Tarraco.

Camp de Tarragona is a railway station, opened on 19 December 2006, on the Madrid-Barcelona high-speed rail line between Madrid and Barcelona. Located between the municipalities of La Secuita and Perafort, some 8 km north of Tarragona itself, the new station serves an area with an estimated population of over 400,000. The station complex, covering 5.2 hectares, has eight standard-gauge tracks (four platform tracks and four central through tracks), two 400-metre-long island platforms, passenger handling facilities, a travel centre, shops, and parking for 648 vehicles. The high speed railway to the French frontier opened for service in 2013.
